Dont know why SRK, Farah Khan and media is saying that srk is shown bare chested for the 1st time, he has done it in Asoka and also in Swades, chalte chalte, paheli, dilse. check it out.......

SRK went bare chest when the situation demanded it. It always was the part of costume, or demand of the scene. For example, Ashoka had him dressed that way, the DIL Se song also had choreography which required a certain kind of attire and dressing.

Chalte Chalte scene was again the demand of the script.

What he meant was that he never bared his chest just to show it off or simply take his shirt off for the heck of it.

This is the first time he bared just to show it off.......the scene was done just for that - to show SRK barechested. Not the other way round. And that, indeed, is a first by SRK. Barechested just for the heck of it.

Maya memsaab, hardly counts, as that again was demand of the script and he had just arrived in the industry, hardly in a position to have a say at that time. When Maya Memsaab released, he was not THE SRK. He was a newcomer, struggling to find his foot hold.

At that time, much had been written about that. And in all the articles, one thing had been clearly mentioned - SRK almost cried doing that scene because he was so uncomfortable and nervous. The film was directed by Ketan Mehta, and his wife Deep Sahi Mehta co produced and acted in it. Deepa and Ketan coaxed him for hours to get a scene right, and in some places they finally had to get a body double because SRK just was unable to do it.
