Q After doing Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki for over a year, why are you quitting the show?

I am not quitting the serial. On the contrary, about a month ago it was mutually decided between the producer and me that I will be out of the show to bring in a new twist in the story. The exit of my character will help take the story ahead to a different level. There is a surprise element coming in after my exit.

Q How will Saumya's exit happen? Will he be bumped off in an accident?

I am there in the show for the next two weeks and therefore don't know how my exit will happen. But I guess Saumaya's exit will be a kind of sacrifice.

Q Aren't you walking out of the serial because of Nach Baliye?

No. As I said before, my exit was decided a month ago. It has got nothing to do with Nach Baliye. But yes, I am really looking forward to doing the reality show.

Q You joined Woh Rehne Wali a while after the generation leap. How was the experience of doing the daily? Will you come back in the show post-Nach Baliye?

It was a wonderful experience and I had great time doing the serial. I had a lovely producer and lovely co-star to work with. I got good screen time and the character also had good range, from grey to completely positive. The way they defined the character and portrayed the husband-wife relationship was very good. All in all, it was a very satisfying experience. But I have no idea whether I will come back in the show in future. In fact, I don't think the serial will need me.

Q Didn't you quit Kahani because of Woh Rehne Wali?

No, I don't do these kind of things at all. I am not into quitting one show for another. I had completed my commitment for Kahani before I quit the show. One of the reasons for quitting Kahani was the generation leap.

Q Have you learnt dance? How good or bad a dancer are you as compared to your lady love and dance partner Sanjeeda?

No, I have not learnt dance but I am an okay dancer. But Sanjeeda is a better dancer than me. In fact, she is a very good dancer.

Q How do you rate your chances of success or how far do you think you and Sanjeeda will go?

It's a reality show and therefore I can't rate the chances of my success. A lot depends on viewers' votes. I am not taking part in Nach Baliye to win the title but to enjoy it all.

Q Have you seriously started rehearsing for the show?

Yes, I am into dance rehearsals for a couple of hours every day. But I am able to give enough time for rehearsals because of Woh Rehne Wali. Also, since I do rehearsals after shooting for my serial I am often tired and my energy level is low. But things should pick in about two weeks' time.

Q After Nach Baliye will you be back to acting in serials?

No, I am planning to take a break. I have worked for a year and now I will be busy with this reality show. I deserve a break after that.

Q When did you realise that you were in love with Sanjeeda? Did you confess your love to her first?

We have known each other for a long time and have been good friends. But love happened only a couple of months ago. There was no question of expressing our love because we mutually understood it.
