Definitely, Prashant showed his versatality in singing. If Amit had to sing that "Bhige hoth tere, pyasa dil mera", I doubt he wouldnot have sang better than Prashant.

When Emon sings I just feel that all the glasses of my windows gonna break. Thats my true feeling. I never ever feel melody in his voice.
Amit's voice is good. Good to sing songs of 60s, 70s and 80s. But I doubt he can satisfy new generations.
Hindi music has changed a lot lately and needs some versitile singer like Prashant. He can go with any kind....pop, soft. rock, even aalap (in pind posh maal), some nasal sounds (in bhige hoth tere) and some other non familiar parts (as he did in kaho na kaho, ye ankhe bolati he oh sanam oh saman). So Prashant showed his versatality to a greater extent.
If he will get chance (if discrimination is eliminated), I bet, he will rock hindi music industry. "Hilake rakh denge"
I have nothing to say about your comments on singing. To each his own.

I don't know about who is versatile between Amit and Prashant but Prashant sure took more risks than Amit. I feel Amit didn't test the waters enough so we can't really tell whether he can/can't sing all types of songs.
- Despite both having no classical training, Amit didn't even go near a semi-classical number. Prashant tried his hands on Yeh Honsla with mixed results.
- In the disco round, when everybody sang foot tapping numbers, Prashant went with something not quite the norm but did a fantastic job of that.
- Despite people questioning his diction, Prashant took the Arabic part of Kaho na kaho. This, if gone wrong, could have been harakiri, but instead, he did so well that 2 guys who have some exposure to Arabic words (JA and AM) ended up praising him.
There is no doubt Emon and Puja both are pretty good technically with all types of songs, however, I personally, didn't like their voice at all. I found Puja's voice quite irritating and Emon's unstable, i.e. it kept changing and I couldn't quite put my finger on which was his real voice.
