And their stupid disastrous EGO.

NR are responsible for their own situation, they have no one else to blame.

In a way they are fortunate because they can make things better for them in no time if they decide to, putting aside their ego and solving their differences. They are the only hurdle in their way to each other

A lot of times things are difficult for people with way too many obstacles.
