'The pain of love'- A poem

There was once a boy who was born

To parents who were apart torn

They quarreled, argued all day long

But they loved him much inspite of all.

His whole childhood he watched them fight

From morning to evening, day and night

Their quarrels increased day by day

But the reason for this? He could not say.

Then one evening came a disaster

Their quarrel that day was more than ever

With a terrified heart, he heard his mother say

"Adi will live with me, with me he will stay!"

Fierce looked his mother, who snatched his hand

And took him away, before his dad could react

But a little child's cries and pleas, did they ever hear?

Did they ever ask him-this pain of separation, could he bear?

Twenty years since, as we peep into a mansion

We search for a little boy, but can't find one

Instead we see a handsome man in his youth

Indifferent was his look, carefree was he

Real friends he could not trust, so he made friends reel

Because things like trust to him never existed

"I will never be in a relationship" Adi had decided.

But fate laughed at him and said, "Are you sure?"

We have something else for you in store!

You can't be a bachelor forever, can you?

So to get your share of love, rush to Kullu!"

Our eyes wander off to Kullu, there we're surprised to see

A girl clad in yellow, dancing and running merrily!

Joy was in her heart, peaceful and happy her mind

We have never seen, a beauty of her kind!

A marriage proposal brought these two polar opposites together

Two people more different, there had been never

Adi was from a family-rich, but divided and scattered

Pankhuri wasn't rich, but her family was united.

Friends they soon became, very close and innate

Pankhuri was surprised to see in his family, so much jealousy and hate.

Adi's Nanu wanted her to unite his broken family

The old man's only dream was to see them living happily.

This girl, Nanu knew, was the only person in the world

Who could unite his family, and shower Adi with love

Because Pankhuri knew, the importance of relationships

And the need for a life partner to face life's hardships.

The path wasn't easy, evils came their way

Adi and Pankhuri separated..and we had nothing to say.

But they were meant to be together, so had fate decided

So against everyone's wish, Adi and Pankhuri married.

Pankhuri was wise enough to realize that she loved him

But she was sad to see that she was still a friend to him

An accident occurred, which could cost Pankhuri her life

Adi prayed for her safety, Adi prayed for his wife.

The fear of separation, when once again roused in his heart

He realized he loved Pankhuri, and her place in his heart.

His immense love for her, brought her back back to life

Adi and Pankhuri were now, perfect husband and wife.

Two lovers, now united, formed a bond such

That no evil could separate them, tried however they much.

Pankhuri helped Adi bring his parents together

And removed the misunderstandings between them forever.

A lot they had to go through, tears they had to shed

But finally Adi and Pankhuri made Diwan family united.

Pankhuri taught them to live together, happiness came their way

Seeing his only wish fulfilled, Nanu peacefully passed away.

Adi was surprised to see that a girl could be so selfless

That she hid her own tears, to bring smiles on their faces

"She has done so much for me", he thought "And what have I given her?

Nothing except utmost grief, pain, suffering and tears.

"Now is my turn to give her happiness" he did he almost think,

When all his happiness collapsed, and darkness came in a wink.

The thought of what happened shudders us, to a couple it should happen never

A landslide had snatched away Pankhuri from Adi forever.

Adi became a wanderer, two years he searched for her

He was mad, frantic, obsessed, but he had hope of finding her.

Pankhuri was the soul of Diwan Mansion, without her it was once again

An enormous structure, where there was only hatred, suffering and pain.

But now there came a ray of hope, into Adi's life

He found a girl Ayesha, who looked exactly like his wife.

Delighted he was to get back his Pankhuri

But the girl strangely treated him with scorn and fury.

Adi's nature was so sweet, and his love for Pankhuri extreme

That Ayesha soon transformed, and fell in love with him

But the bitter truth that she wasn't his love, she hid from him sincerely

Because she could not bear to be separated from the one she loved so dearly.

The bitter truth Adi soon found out, and he was heartbroken

Ayesha he married, in a turn of events, to save her reputation.

But the love that her heart craved for, Adi could not give her

The pain of love she suffered, she shed many a tear.

Then a miracle happened, a news came by

That Pankhuri wasn't dead, she was alive!

Adi's pure love once again, pulled her back from dead

Two lovers united, who had so long been separated.

The angel, Pankhuri was back, the family was overjoyed

But amidst this, Ayesha was forgotten, out her heart she cried

Her happiness was in seeing Adi happy with his wife

She shed a few silent tears, and walked out of his life.
