This is the reason .. why no more HD videos are available ..

DNA Report ..

Acting on complaint filed by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) , Delhi police on Friday last week registered an FIR and raided premises in Kalyanpur area of Lucknow where illegal tapping of live-contents of various popular Indian television channels was being carried out on pirated websites.

As per the facts, police during the raid on May 22, found illegal tapping of contents from channels including Zee TV, Star Plus, Colours, Sony TV among others. During the raid, over two dozen workers were caught red-handed, digitally stealing live feed of Indian TV Pay Channels using over 50 DTH and cable TV set-top boxes. These persons were extracting TV feeds, removing watermarks and uploading them on their sites such as www.desi tv forum.net

According to officials, these websites are being accessed by millions of viewers abroad in US, Canada, Europe, UK, Netherlands etc and thousands of dollars are being illegally earned by these pirates causing huge amount of losses to the broadcasters. In addition, there has also been rampant violation of foreign exchange regulations and money laundering.

The initial investigation has revealed the mastermind of this piracy racket, to be one Mohammed Asif Siddiqui. He was arrested by the Delhi Police along with various equipment, including computers and other accessories, used in carrying out the piracy/signal theft were also seized. The officials said that more such raids are likely to be held, during the course of investigation.

The modus operandi was that in addition to tapping and stealing live feed of various channels from DTH and cable set top boxes, the accused persons within these 10-12 minutes, were recording video, editing identifiable information, adding their logo and uploading it to several servers simultaneously.

Industry insiders claim that this is the first occasion when an internet-pirate has been caught red-handed in India. It took over a year-long investigation and digital evidence gathered by ZEE's in-house IT security team to collect irrefutable evidence to identify humans behind the mask of these websites, which were hosted from Sweden.

With the proliferation of internet enabled devices, Indian TV channels industry has been bleeding badly. According to open-source web-based analytics, this particular group had over 10 lakh daily viewers and have been earning thousands of dollars every day. The targeted customers were mainly from US, Canada, Europe etc.

According to experts, with the rapid advent of technology enabling the dissemination of content across digital platforms and web, there are enormous revenue opportunities for broadcasters and other content owners. The Indian channels which are available in more than 100 countries around the world are extremely popular amongst the South- Asian diaspora. However, piracy, stealing of signals and their unauthorised transmission & streaming on web has been a major stumbling block in revenue monetisation and in fact, the Broadcasters are losing huge revenue to these pirates.

The industry captains are of the view that the provisions of existing laws such as Copyright Act, IT Act 2000 have not proved to be effective in curbing these kinds of new-age crimes as piracy is categorised as a "bailable" offence. In order to effectively deal with the menace of copyright piracy the copyright infringement should be made "non-bailable". Similarly whether signal theft could be regarded as theft of "property" as contemplated under section 379 of IPC also needs to be clarified.

The channels themselves are making it tough for viewers. Why can't they post unmated videos on the net at least on their own websites? People wouldn't go elsewhere and they can earn money thru ads!

Someone needs to tell this to the Channels .. especially Sony TV .. Both their official release are unavailable worldwide ..

On YouTube .. Half of the Episodes are MUTED due to copyright infringements ..

Sonylive does not makes the videos available outside India ..

It's the Viewers who suffer .. Foreign Shows have much popularity and viewership .. because they are easily available on net .. Even if people miss an episode .. they can easily catch up online ..

This is where .. the Indian Shows take a beating ..

Someone needs to Explain this to the Channel Heads ..

No wonder there are hardly any videos posted and as soon as the link is posted on a public site, the video gets deleted.

WE have to request the PH not to use Bollywood songs in the episodes. Let them pay and get some original BGM. Why are they being stingy? Ok, some of you may iike it. but I don't want these songs at the cost of watching the episode properly. I am a fan of Sony Nigam but I am sick of his pita se hai...blahblah these days. 🤢

I have tweeted to NB and Sony to stop these Bollywood songs in the middle of dialogues. If possible everyone please do it.
I even watch CID online but we have no problem in CID because they don't use Bollywood songs in the middle of the episode, esp when dialogues are there.

money and profit...this what they want...the channel loosers doesn't understand that they are making tough on the online viewers...who misses the show due to work...family reasons...

neither they are posting on their websites...if posted most of the videos can't view worldwide...its blocked...there is no download link to at least download the video to watch offline...sounds are muted...they delay in uploading the videos...with such stupid restriction..where do viewers watch their shows online...

I don't understand why they are safeguarding their episodes...those episodes are for the viewers only...why they can't even provide a download link to download the videos to watch offline...noone is going to sell the videos...they will watch it and delete it...yup there is minimum viewers would love to do siggies...Vms...gifs...avis...that too only for personal use...they share it...where there is no profit for them

I really don't understand this copyright infringement business...what abt channel loosers w/o permission stealing concept...contents...BW songs...isn't it known as copyright infringement...

What copyright infringement are we talking about? NB herself copies from everywhere, and calls its inspired work. 😕
Most of the times one has to catch the episode mainly because the Sony Liv videos are c***. There is a big green band, covering 2/5th of the screen, whenever any song is used in the Background. It's so frustrating actually.
If the PH and Channel can spend so much without any rhyme or reason, why not pay and purchase the songs, if they are absolutely needed. Best of course would be to develop the own content. For instance, why doesn't IKNMP have it's own BG score or trademarked intro music.
I never have any issues watching English shows on Internet in case I am unable to watch on TV. But I have a horrible time catching up on IKNMP, if and when I want to catch an episode or two.
Sony TV should do the following ASAP :
1. Purchase copyright of songs used in the Show, so that there is no muting of dialogues even if any of the songs are used in the BG
2. Develop own content and trademark them
3. Improve the quality of their Shows 😆
4. Upload episodes ASAP on the Sony Liv site
5. Make all videos available across the world
I am sure there are some other stuff that they need to do as well.

this irritation doesn't apply only in sony but every god damn channels

SP uploads highlight on YT...and then ask to catch the full epi in their website hotstar...which is not accessible to worldwide...there is no download link too in hotstar...that goes same for LifeOK shows...

Colors upload their shows on YT but delete away...blocked in certain countries...Colors website is useless...certain countries can't access the website itself

Zee TV...this bunch of channel idiots upload their videos in YT but blocked certain countries...if to upload in their channels...they take ages to upload

Sony TV...the worst of all...everything is muted...might as well mute your useless channel

neither they are uploading their shows properly...nor while uploading...give a download link to download the show so that viewers can watch offline...if somewhere down they are late from work and internet connection goes through a problem and cannot be connected due to whatever reason...

its annoying and irritating to watch hindi TV shows online...

every channels idiots are lazy at their work when it comes to uploading the videos and giving a download link...but when it comes to money and profit...they are so active...at least these people who are caught are very hardworking and active in their work by uploading the videos everyday w/o failing and even provide download link...
