Then a couple decides not to talk about their relationship, it is usually a joint decision.That's not the case with this couple. While Deepika Padukone chooses not to comment on Ranveer Singh, he doesn't let go of a single opportunity to talk about, display his love/affection and defend his ladylove on social media. That seems to be changing. The actress seems to be more open to speaking about her beau now. From supporting him during the AIB fiasco and promoting his latest film Dil Dhadakne Do to calling herself a proud mama' when asked about his performance as a host at IIFA. Here she talks about why with Ranveer Singh what you see is what you get, his vulnerable side and why her jaw dropped when he walked in to the Piku success party.
You don't talk about Ranveer, he doesn't stop talking about you. Why the disparity?
(Laughs) Imagine how much he wants to say. Itna sab kuch bolne ke baad bhi, itna bol raha hai. I read somewhere that he said that he is the expressive one, I'm the non-expressive one Baad mein Deepika se kuch sun na padhta hai or something.. That's not true at all. I think what makes him unique and special is the fact that he is who he is. He feels something, he says it.
I remember someone described him as monkey on steroids' and jaahil'...
I thought the same thing too a long time ago. For people who don't know him, he might come across as attention-seeking. And I completely understand that because I have to admit I had the same impression of him when he was doing Band Bajaa Baarat. I'd feel like he is too much, too loud and too this and too that. Until we started doing Ram-Leela together and before that during all our workshops is when I realised that what you see is what you get. I think the only side of him that people don't really get to see is his vulnerability. In all this energy and enthusiasm and happiness, I think a lot of people don't get to see that side; it's very much there.
Is that a defence mechanism. All this display of emotions?
I don't know if it's a defence mechanism but I definitely know that, either way he is being himself " when he is sensitive or emotional, and when he wears these funny prints, chaddies like those shorts..
What about his fashion sense?
I completely endorse it, because that is who he is. He is not trying to be someone he is not.
That outfit he wore in Kolkata was...
(Cuts in) What's worse is what he wore at Olive for my success party! The printed shirt and printed pants.
Your expression when he walked in dressed like that...
(Drops her jaw) That. No expression. I was like O...kay!
Are you aware that people around him feel that while he talks about you, you don't, which they feel is not fair to him?
Why would I talk about something when I am not asked? The point is, that the equation that we share is very, very clear between us and to me that's all that matters.
