Episode 37: Humraahi headed towards a Manzil OR ?

I'm sorry I won't be discussing the other aspects of the Episode in this post tonight..

Bt before we move on.. I HAVE to Say..

Mr. Khalid Shaikh.. You're the man! 👏 Beneath that ruthless, funny exterior, lies a lion who is territorial, and will rip apart anyone who messes with him or his cubs.. (His reporters and his channel..)

That thunderous growl would have shaken up Kishen, the two faced rat for sure!

If not, Panditji's protest march and your promise will ensure that his film is doomed.. 👏

Are Kabir and Ananya -

Humraahi headed towards a Manzil OR ? towards a Massive heartbreak? Breach of trust, and the repercussions that shall follow?

Oh well.. I need a breather.. And a shoulder to cry upon, if our fears actually come true..

RN-Naveen : *Nooo..* Wails like a TV-serial saree-clad bahu..

Is Kabir jinxed with self-guilt just like Raj was? 😲

*Nahiii...*

That plot has haunted me for a long long time.. It ruined one of my most favorite love stories.. 😭 🥺

Okay.. back to normal.. (Sort of!)

So.. When she questions him about her father, and the case - he pretends to keep a calm face, doesn't get rattled, doesn't show his shock/surprise or a hint of recognition..

He pretends to not remember anything about the case citing the age-old excuse in the book.. Kaafi samay pehle ki baat..'

And she pleads with him, to help her seek the truth about her father..

A : Meri manzil ki raah..'

K : Kya hai tumhari manzil?

How poignantly beautiful was that conversation!! 👏

Their emotions restrained, their guards let down, their eyes doing the talking..

A lot of things swam to the surface today..

Ananya's father was released on bail, but he never returned to his family..

Bahar ka shor toh band ho jayega, Ananya.. Lekin andar ke shor ka kya?'

Sudhir Kashyap was consumed by torment, public humiliation and as his daughter puts it, by the trial by the media'.

And yet there was one man who wrote in his defense..

Of course, Kabir may not have been THE Kabir Sharma back then, but he took a stance and pointed out that there was a chance that her father could have been innocent..

And Sudhir Kashyap's daughter, Kabir's new dost' clings onto that piece of paper for 8 years!

It's her inspiration.. Her only ray of hope.. Her strength..

That one article earned Kabir respect in her eyes and a belief that no matter what, he would always stand up for the truth..

So, why now? When he is the only raah' to her manzil', why does he hold the information back?

Is it only because it's not the right time and situation, or does he want to put her through another infamous test of his?

Or there's a third reason, which I dread to even imagine!

If it's the former, then it does make sense.. He will open up to her, reveal information and help her while she searches for her father..

But that's not Kabir Sharma's style, and so I doubt if it's THE reason..

The second one seems quite plausible..

From the jaane se pehle, it is quite obvious that this, what they're going through is a web of danger and deceit. Of emotions, of traumatic experiences, of tests of strength and courage..

Their emotions make them, and also BREAK them..

He knows how quickly, and gravely Ananya gets attached to a story, and pursues it as if her life depends on it..

So, is he trying to calm her down first, and then peel off layers from the mystery one by one?

Maybe, he too doesn't know much about what happened to her father, and will have to go digging deeper?

OR

The third and the most unnerving possibility..

Does he hold himself responsible? Was it the guilt that showed on his face? 😲

Yes, we know that Kabir did not prosecute her father like the others in the media..

But he was working on the story.. He even wrote a hard-hitting article.. And I absolutely refuse to believe that a man as intelligent as Kabir Sharma does not remember crucial information about the case!

So what is it that holds him back?

Is it his inability to put an end to her father's humiliation?

He's not above the law, but he had the power of the fourth estate with him.. If the media had accused and convicted Sudhir Kashyap, Kabir Sharma could have taken a stance against it, and questioned the verdict..

But did he?

Looks like he didn't follow it up.. Yes, he took a stance but what happened next? Why wasn't Kabir or his POV on the case heard of, by the Kashyap family?

And why isn't Kabir owning up to the truth?

Swearing on my 12 years of experience of being hopelessly in love with this man's eyes, I can say without a doubt that this isn't as simple as it looks.. 😆

Either he's genuinely cooking up some plans in his head, and buying time for himself and her;

OR he is weighed down by the guilt..

The timing too could not have been more perfect!

She asks him if they can be friends.. And he agrees to it.. It's a deal sealed for a lifetime!

Again, such a simple, overused scene, but their picture-perfect emotions made the difference..

Ananya's slight hesitation that she might cross the boundaries set by their professional hierarchy and Kabir's superior position, her faith that he might actually accept her friendship.. And Kabir's typically unique manner of accepting it..

They didn't shake hands, but a consensus was reached.. They're friends now! 👏

He knows she believes in him; he is her idol and her inspiration.. So, what does THE Kabir Sharma have to say about it? (I WANT and NEEED a MONOLOGUE!) 😡

Is it the fear of losing a friend', his present , and his future due to the mistakes/lack of foresight in the past?

Was Sudhir Kashyap's story running in parallel to the mayhem in his own married life?

Was Shreya and his bitter parting one of the reasons why he could not follow up the story to its end, and get Sudhir Kashyap acquitted?

Was this the case that blew up Tarini Pal's cover, and forced her to withdraw from the world of journalism?

Is this story the reason why a confident, strong man crumbles into a vulnerable mess, and is bogged down by guilt?

Soo many questions.. But we have no answers..

Maybe yes, or maybe not.. But one thing is for sure..

Sudhir Kashyap and the mystery around him is going to MAKE and/or BREAK Kabir and Ananya's relationship now on..

Though Kabir couldn't have gone out of the way and proven her father's innocence, Ananya will be forced to believe that he could have!

The girl is waaay too emotional, and vulnerable when it comes to her father.. And it won't be easy for her to differentiate black from white..

That one darn line from LRL still haunts me..

Naina to Rajveer : Aapne aapke dost ko bachane ke liye kuch kyun nahi kiya?'

I only hope that we don't get to hear Ananya saying it to him..

The Jaane se pehle has me confused.. But somehow, I feel we know the answer to it..

Was it only about Ananya's impatience, vulnerability, fear of losing someone or was the pointer always pointing towards Mr. Sharma?

Coz come what may, he too is just a mortal..

Yes, he has gained respect, recognition and now a dost', but will his past come back to haunt him and knock down everything that he holds dear to him?

It's obvious that Ananya's paths will finally entwine with Kabir's.. They are each other's Raah', and Humraahi', seeking a Manzil..'

But will they hold hands and walk along, or will they be forced apart temporarily, before they reunite forever?

(@Rinnie : Dost, you asked me the same thing, didn't you? I fear it might be the latter..

But if it is, KaYa will end up being a rock-solid couple, with only each other as their greatest strength and weakness..)

OR there's a huge possibility that I'm reading too much into it.. 😆

And yes, I do think Kabir flirted with her to distract her, to cheer her up and to buy himself some time and respite..
