It is sometimes very easy to counsel others but when it comes to self, even the most sensible people lose their ground. How can counselling abhi over petty kids fights be same as accepting a harsh truth about his own birth? If abhi had a different father, would mannu be able to counsel him? No... this was a very sensitive issue which his own mother could not reveal to him for years. How can the boy be expected to be mature and accept it with grace?

It is not just about having a different father. His real dad died right in front of him on the day he first met him. And his parents asking him to light the pyre of his dad on the same day he learnt the truth . In my opinion, these things are too big for a teenager to handle. And he would obviously react in a dramatic way.He did take it easy after a brief period of shock when he came to know that Anandi was Jagya's first wife. And he was his mature self and even managed to hide the truth from Abhi. But we can't expect the same maturity to exist in every situation of his life inspite of things turning really bad.
