Prashant Tamang may be the dark horse for Indian Idol 3 as per one of the judges Udit Narayan but we have strong reasons to believe that he is one of the frontrunners for the title.
Looks matter most?
In Indian Idol 1, Amit Sana was believed to be the better singer but Abhijeet Sawant got more votes because of his simple looks and boy next door image. Something similar happened in part 2 as Sandeep Acharya trounced Karunya. A source close to Sony substantiates this finding. "Due to his good looks, he has been getting votes constantly right from the start of the show. And if this continues, he has a great chance of winning the competition. What's also astonishing is that he is getting almost 60-70% more votes compared to other contestants."
EQ (Emotional Quotient)
Prashant's story is a very touching one. He lost his father very early and hence matured before time. He is already working as a cop and drawing a salary of two thousand per month in Darjeeling. This is another reason why the tide may turn in his favour.
Winning over the judges
Annu Maliek, one of judges who always praises and encourages him, says, "Prashant has worked really hard to get here and I will not be disappointed if he is the next Indian Idol." Well, here's another reason to be optimistic for Prashant.
Dream come true
Prashant came to Mumbai with his dream to see celebrities. This came true when he entered Indian Idol 3. And now a victory will only be the icing on the cake.
