Vidya Balan, who has been a brand ambassador of some reputed brands, feels holding actors responsible for endorsing brand isn't fair as the actors are not involved in research. The actress put her weight behind Madhuri Dixit and feels the actress shouldn't be blamed for the wrong ingredients found in the research.Speaking about the same Vidya said, "It is very responsible brand. I am sure it is a great brand for Madhuri to endorse and that's why she also ended up doing it. One can't go to the research lab and find out what's wrong with the product. It is a respectable brand which is why Madhuri is doing it.
I think it is unfair to say that actor should be more responsible. Imagine, we are eating that for more than 20 to 30 years. It's not Madhuri's fault that today researchers have found wrong things. How would she know? We are not involved in research?" She further continues, "When a brand comes to me I use it and in case of Madhuri, I am sure she has been eating it too so how she would have known? She would have thought it's great to be brand ambassador of the product which we all have been using for all these years and then if she gets to know that it has Mono Sodium Glutamate (MSG) and lead? How can you hold her responsible for that?" The actress has been promoting some brands that are associated with the social causes. The actress reveals that she is not doing it by choice. "It's not . aan is a social campaign that I am associated with which focuses on sanitation. The other hair oil brand that I am endorsing is supporting the education. But I am happy that the brands I am doing are consciously doing something for people."
After Madhuri Dixit, reportedly actors like Preity Zinta and Amitabh Bachchan too has been dragged to the court for the same product when a case was lodged on Saturday against Nestle India in a local court in Barabanki over safety standards of its food product.UP food regulator FSDA (Food Safety and Drug Administration) files a case against the Nestle India when the researchers found monosodium glutamate and lead in permissible limits in Maggi samples which they tested. A local advocate filed a separate case against the three cine personalities claiming the stars earned huge amount by the wrong publicity.
