RCE's Big Plans
Red Chillies Entertainments seems to be consolidating on the business side of the films they produce but no one is breathing a word on these developments. However, we have learnt that it all started with Happy New Year and they are further consolidating with Dilwale.
A record music deal was a big shot in the arm for their plans, and now they are exploiting long-term partners for each territory in India. Some territories have already been clinched at record numbers while they are still looking for partners in other territories.
We have also learnt that some major territories may be retained where the company may open their own offices. On the overseas front, they may continue with Yash Raj Films as both companies share a certain comfort level and the HNY model seems to have worked for both parties. It will be interesting to see how this pans out, since this is one of the biggest films this year Dilwale. All eyes are on RCE's next move. Watch this space!
Basu's Thinking
Anurag Basu's Jagga Jasoos seems to be one the longest films of his career. Shooting started in 2013-end and is still underway! People who know Basu know he loves to take his own sweet time to shoot and sometimes re-shoot. But, this time, it seems this is the longest shoot he's ever done.
A source close to the film says, "Dada loves to shoot and then re-shoot and get everything edited on the sets. But, this time, because they are shooting in bits and pieces, he feels the actors have not been able to stay with the characters. Also, they started shooting in 2013 and the look of both the actors has changed. So he has decided to reshoot those scenes where there is inconsistency in their look. Now he will shoot in one go so that the emotions and the continuity are not broken. And that's why he now wants Ranbir and Katrina to finish their respective films and shoot Jagga Jasoos in one stretch." Good thinking, indeed!
Ken Ghosh's Dilemma
Our producers always try to bank on superhit films by announcing sequels, and Ken Ghosh's Ishq Vishk is no exception. In fact, this sequel was announced a long time ago. A source close to the director reveals, "This year, Ken had finally given the producers a final draft of the sequel, for which they were looking for fresh faces to cast. But it seems the producers are not happy with the way the script has shaped up. So they have asked Ken to rework the subject as they want a fresh love story."
SKF To Produce Jugal Bandi
Salman Khan's production house is gearing up for its first release, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, this Eid. But his company is also looking for more scripts to produce. One of them is Sameer Sharma's next titled Jugal Bandi, based on music.
The director, who made his debut with Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana in 2012, is busy putting the finishing touches to his final draft and is looking for a fresh casting for his film. The film will see a great music album, for which Sharma is talking to some musicians. Watch this space for more details!
Sultan To Start
Everyone is eyeing Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, whose teaser was recently launched. It is a given that this film will do massive business just like all Khan's movies do. We hear that soon after the release of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the actor will start shooting for Yash Raj Films' Sultan, which will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
Khan will be playing a 40-year-old boxer in the film. He is trying to get his physique to look like wrestler Sushil Kumar's body, for which he needs to look lean. His trainer believes he has the perfect body for this. We're told the film will be shot in one schedule.
AK Is Excited
Karan Malhotra is working round the clock because, in all probability, the trailer of his next film Brothers will be launched on June 10. A source close to the film reveals, "The entire team is very happy with the way the film has shaped up. The team is now gearing up for the trailer launch on June 10. Akshay Kumar, who is shooting for Singh Is Bliing in Goa, will come down for the launch along with Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez." We're told that Akshay Kumar is very excited about the film and is talking about it with everyone he meets.

Guess Who?
Times change, and for some, a lot can change very quickly. And that's what has happened with this director. Once upon a time, he was very big, and every bigwig in the industry wanted to work with him. But now it seems the tide has turned against him. Firstly, when he decided to make a comedy film, he had to cast a newcomer. Now we hear the film didn't shape up as hoped and the director is working on the edit day and night. The film is supposed to launch a famous personality and the actor doesn't want anything to go wrong with his debut. As a result, the entire team is now spending time editing the already-shot film.
