The past few months have been difficult for the Hindi film business as it has seen a slump in both, the sentiment and the business at the box office. The real reason has been lack of good content and inappropriate budgeting of films.

READ: 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' box-office: Kangana Ranaut starrer clocks in Rs 38 crore in first weekend

Good films were far and few, but the good news is that whenever there was a film made well, be in any genre, the audience gave their verdict in favour of it. It was thus no surprise that films like Baby, Badlapur,Gabbar Is Back and even small films like NH10 and Margarita With A Straw were appreciated and made either money or added respect or both for filmmakers. But what has truly turned the sentiment around for Bollywood right now is the two recently-released films, Piku andTanu Weds Manu Returns, that are both big hits at the box office. Both of them have big female stars (Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut respectively) behind them and clearly it seems at the moment that the girls in Bollywood have brought the men back in business.Apart from the three big Khans (Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh) whose stardom is still the biggest draw at the box office, it seems by the current trend that our top female stars are the next safest choice for delivering return on the monies invested. Women have, in the past always vied for getting items songs in top male star films. We wonder if it is now time for our male stars to start pitching for item songs in these successful women-oriented filmsJ.

These articles are usually counter productive.

No male actor would be keen to do such films. As he might get tagged for getting success in only female oriented films.

The industry is sexist.

It puts pressure on males also if they star in female oriented films.
They are bashed if they do not prove star power beyond such films.

I think article also got BO verdicts of some films, wrong.
