But I think he intentionally says something because he thinks it shows his product in a good light or that it garners interest for his film. It's just that he thinks his words should be taken at face value and once he's moved onto the next subject so should the media and public. Doesn't always work that way.

And suddenly I think he probably did make the statement that if Badlapur clicks with the audience it will hit 100cr. He was quoted as saying this and a couple of days later he was angry and denying that he never said such a thing.

I get what you're saying and i'm not defending Varun just cause i'm a fan, i've honestly seen things get misinterpreted. That story that came out during Humpty that he was in love with a girl etc, everybody thought was a made up pr ploy. But watch the press conference he was clearly asked the question and he answered and then that was converted into a billion articles and everyone thought it was fake. Regarding Badlapur he said it'll either work big or not work at all, he didn't say 100 crore. And it's not just with Varun i've notice this happen to a lot of people who engage with the media frequently, words gets misconstrued very easily. You watch one thing on video and then five different versions of that appear in print
