Vikas and Amita Sethi fire their choreographer for being 'unprofessional'

Tuning Nahi Jamegi: Vikas Sethi and wife Amita
Even before its telecast, the sets of Nach Baliye 3 is charged with high drama. Recently, Vikas Sethi and wife Amita fired their choreographer Khalsa Raj stating that he was unprofessional and wasn't devoting enough time for rehearsals. Sources inform that Vikas and Khalsa fought over creative differences and other matters.

Defending their decision, Amita says, "We had to do it to ensure we don't disappoint our fans. It wasn't an easy decision, but parting ways was the best option to make sure we stay in the competition." Quoting Khalsa's unprofessional behaviour and lack of commitment as reasons for the parting, she adds, "One day, he didn't turn up for rehearsals.

I kept waiting for him for three hours, but he was nowhere in sight. His phone was switched off and I tried to manage things by myself. He was also not too serious about the fact that it's a competition. That was one of the breaking points for us."

The couple is now working with two female choreographers — Minaz and Haseena. "They've worked under Saroj Khan and we're happy with their work," says Amita.

A chance lost

Khalsa Raj
Khalsa, who is upset with Vikas for taking away this platform from him, has a different story to share. "I have been in the industry for 10 years.

I know what dance is, and it's sad that both Vikas and Amita were unable to appreciate my work."

Reacting to allegations of an unprofessional attitude, he says, "I wasn't able to attend the rehearsal for just one day.

But Vikas and Amita didn't give me enough days as well. Out of the 15 days I had with them, they turned up for only five!"

Unaffordable

He admits that Vikas is a good dancer, but Amita needs training. He says, "They wanted me to hire a female assistant for them who would be with Amita all the time. I cannot afford to keep one, by paying money out of my pocket." According to him, the production house, Wizcraft had no issues with his work. He believes, "The producers were bullied by Vikas and Amita into taking this decision."

Khalsa is obviously not in the 'forgive and forget' mood. He says he will watch the couple's performance closely to check if they use any of his compositions. "I will take proper action if I find they have used any of my steps or the moves that I taught them while training them," says Khalsa.
