From what little I have seen of Viraj Dobriyal portrayal, it is not the forte of everyone to pull off! It's a tough gig. SRK did negative roles and he always managed to be a convincing psycho that people even related to, and people still remember those roles, just as much as KKHH etc.
But such portrayals are tough! KV has a gift, so he is able to be convincing as a psycho, a grey role like Prem / Yudi (which I have also watched here and there on Youtube at behest of people here), Dhruv in Shararat which was a chocolate boy/comedy, now Aahil. Brat at start, grey shades, but is a "dariya dil" type inside. He is like this totally hot bleeding heart with a cold no nonsense type of exterior, at least till you get to know him. Then he is just smoldering melting chocolate. You just cant get enough! He is just
Janlewa. That is how I would describe Aahil in "One" word. 😳 (This one is for you Soup). But in ALL roles he was equally good. He makes it look a lot easier than it actually is!
As for Shaad, I agree with Soup. Jannat told him point blank about the confusion and mental stress she was going through. (as a direct result of the lie he has told her). She feels them staying away from each other physically (as she requested of him till she gets better) may be causing them to feel even more disconnected. She doesn't realise the "disconnect" is because this man is not who he says he is!
Shaad is either just blind or extremely naive to think that his "confession" is going to solve her problems! NO my boy, NOTHING will solve her problems other than the truth about who she is not, followed by the discovery of who she really IS! One needs to know one's TRUE identity. It is not a "choice", nor is it a decision of a third party! It is YOUR right to know who you are, and Sanam also has that right, which Shaad has stolen from her. It's time to make it right! But I feel now that this chance went away, he will not set it right again. Before that, he will find out who Aahil really is, and he will do everything in his power to make sure Jannat does NOT find out who Aahil is to her! (Because it is clear even now, Aahil has some hold over her mind. Shaad will never risk Jannat knowing Aahil is her real husband, and figuring out exactly WHY she feels this connection to Mr Ibrahim, and his wife Sanam). Mark my words. This is where the grey will become dark grey, or even black! VT did say he wants to explore "negative" roles. I dont think that was a random statement, given the timing of it. In a previous interview he also said he prefers "grey" roles and I think that was before he had the Missing person file on Jannat closed off because he fell in "love" with her and decided he didnt want her to be found by her real family! If that is not grey I dont know what is!
Yes a bit of "Ka ka ka Kiran..." type feel came in that confession, where he told her that he loves her and wants to "keep her forever". Your right Soup. Again, this is ALL about him, and I think CV's are doing it on purpose. They are showing us that Shaad sees this love story from HIS POV only. He does not see it from HER's! That is why he has not stopped to think what she might actually want? To find out who she really is, or just go with this fake identity and him for good? HER choice has not come to his mind! He thinks coz HE loves her, that's all that matters! He honestly is clueless, and selfish in a very mindless kind of way! His character is not a bad person at core, but bad when it comes to his decision making. He always does things that favor HIM, not the other person! That is a serious flaw of his!
