I think too much news of his personal life and the constant two flops has damaged his image and popularity. At same time, during his absence from silverscreen, all the other young actors have managed to do so well for themselves that he suddenly has competition. When Ranveer came to prominence with BBB, everyone thought he will be the one to give competition to Ranbir who was riding high with more or less no competition. Even when Ranveer flopped with his next film everyone had no idea he will bounce back. And then Lootera happened. He proved he can act too and gave strong competition to Ranbir. If u asked me, only Kareena is genuinely popularly in Kapoor family. Her numerous flops didnt lessen her popularity at all. Ranbir first film was a flop. No one liked him in BAH as well. He gained immense popularity after WUS and after proving he can act. Same time Imran was bad at acting which made media hyping him so much over the years. Even Shahid was doing bad after 2009. When Ranveer proved his acting abilities with Lootera, people moved onto Ranveer. Thats why Ranveer is considered Ranbir biggest threat everywhere, not only on IF. I have so many friends, girls especially who used to be Ranbir fans are now going crazy over Ranveer. Not just Ranveer, even Shahid did well last year and so has Varun this year. Imran is also coming back. Its no more one man show for Ranbir. Ranbir is a good actor, I wont take that away from him. I feel he has lost his drive to push himself. Hope he finds it soon and come back with a bang.

Rk is a gifted actor. I am sure he will bounce back. All the best for Tamasha & JJ.

Thats right, Ranbir is too choosy so early on in his career, he shd do more films but ONLY with good directors, not trashy ones like his Besharam director.

Hrithik is also too choosy...both these actors are so talented but lose out on popularity because they do too few movies and are choosy abt their roles.

Hrithik was and is anyday more popular than RK.

And had better record in first 7 years and beyond.

RK is below even that rung.
