Trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted, "#TanuWedsManuReturns opens to good/very good occupancies, especially in cities of North India... India screen count: 2200 screens."
Kangana's film follows closely on the relief that Deepika Padukone starrer Piku' brought to the business of Bollywood; a runaway hit, the film has clocked around 65 crores so far. It's weekday collections remain steady at around 2.5 crores each day in it's third week. Like Piku' Tanu weds Manu also has a sizeable overseas release; with 350 screens across USA, UK, Canada, Pakistan, New Zealand, Australia & UAE.
As for Bombay Velvet', to quote Taran Adarsh, the film has done a week long business of approximately 22.27 crore; which is lower than the first day collections of Ranbir Kapoor's flop Besharam' (21.56 crores). In other words, the first Day collections of Besharam, are just 1 crore short of the week long collections of Bombay Velvet.
