Adnan Sami "lifts" Indian Idol to new heights!

Indian Idol has reached its penultimate stage. The top three have been finalised and their confidence is at an all time high. Javed Akhtar revealed how Amit, Emon and Prashant have achieved international status because wherever he went he was questioned about them! Viewers have a tough task ahead of them—to vote for the most deserving. And to make their task easier, Adnan Sami came on the show.

Adnan looked like a million bucks after his weight loss. He chose two songs— Kishore Kumar numbers—for each contestant and made acute observations about their performance.


Emon swept everybody off their feet with Yeh jo mohhabat hai from Kati Patang. After last week's arguments about his singing, Javed was very happy with his performance. Prashant followed it up with a delightful rendition of Ek ladki beegi bhaagi si and Anu's wholehearted praise reduced the young man to tears. When Amit sang, time seemed to stand still. The judges were unanimous in their verdict… the film industry has found a new singing sensation.


In the next round , the contestants dedicated songs to their loved ones. Emon dedicated Banke tera jogi to his parents who were in the audience. Prashant dedicated Bheege honth tere to his friends in the police force and emotional Amit dedicated Betaab dil to his grandmother.

After listening to the Top 3, Adnan had a word of advice: remember Lift karade in moments of self-doubt. "That's what I do," he said. At the mention of the song, Anu, Alisha and Udit joined Adnan on stage. But the highlight of the evening was a jugalbandi between Adnan and Fazal Qureishi, the talented younger brother of Ustad Zakir Husain.
