Prashant welcome by huge fans

Indian Idol Contestant Prashant was welcome at Siliguri and Darjeeling in a massive way by fans

Gangtok September 4: It was a massive and unprecedented welcome to Prashant Tamang, the Indian Idol contestant who reached in top three in the competition at Darjeeling by his fans. Tens and thousands fans gathered right from New Jalpaiguri who reached from Kolkatta via Darjeeling mail. The fans lined up right from Siliguri to Kurseong up to Darjeeling. Many fans offered him Khadas and greeted him. The jubilant Darjeeling fans celebrated his arrival as if he had won the Indian Idol. The welcome ceremony was given in a unique manner which was not given any political leader of the hill so far. Because of resounding welcome by many people, his long caravan reached Darjeeling nine our late. Firstly, he was taken to St. Robert School and then Chowrasta where about one lakh fans gathered to have look of Prashant. He sang some lines of the songs and he was taken to North Point ground where he sang at least three songs and entertained his fans. The representative of his fans from Sikkim too attended the function.

Awww.. He must have enjoyed all that. I know I would have.. Apparantly, I have never gotten anyting like that.. hehe.. SO, anyways, I wonder what it would be like if he WERE an Idol. There would twice or thrice as many people. Dang!! Good for him! 😉
