Balika Vadhu to Qubool Hai: 5 shows we would love to bid goodbye

2. Balika Vadhu

When Balika Vadhu first arrived on the scene in 2008, it was hailed as a game-changer, effectively ending the reign of the K-soaps' and introducing social issues in mainstream television. Loyal viewers have stayed with the show since it began in 2008, patiently watching as Anandi grew up and was played by three different actors, marveling at Dadisa transformation from a fierce tyrant into a softie and Jagiya's three marriages. Anandi's remarriage to honest district collector Shiv became a crucial plot twist. But eventually, the long run has sapped interest. The show has recently taken a leap and now features Anandi's daughter who's caught in the same trap of child marriage. Which basically means old wine in old bottle. We'll pass.

LOLS Who's stopping from people/viewers from saying good bye?
Easiest and the most effective and the most emphatic way to say good bye is by reaching out for the remote.

If people don't like it they should stop watching and that automatically brings down the business and the makers and channel will shut it down.

Who cares for the opinions floating online? Certainly not the channel and the PH.😛

Thanks for sharing... well summarised article.

Balika Vadhu was like a breath of fresh air when the show was first aired in 2008 and it maintained it's grip through realistic twists and turns in the stories of prominent characters, for many years.

Now yes, it's losing grip mainly because;
- It is old wine in a new bottle
- The story of a single mother is poorly sketched
- There are unnecessary complications in the lives of an otherwise happily married couple...

Anything significant to look forward to? Not really.

May be it's time, the show ends. Time for a fresh concept, probably by the same makers.

I was shocked to see 2013 & 2014 get as good number as BV launch year 2008 and 2009 😲
