Bollywood's flops of Jan 2015: Sonakshi, Bipasha, Sonam sizzle-less

The first month of 2015 has seen 14 films releasing in Bollywood and the month has been a huge disappointment for Bollywood fans.
Three small films Take It Easy', Kabuli Pathan' and Mumbai Can Dance Saala' released in the first week of the month on January 2 and the combined box office collections of all the three films did not even touch Rs5 million.
Tevar' starring Sonakshi Sinha and Arjun Kapoor had an opening day collection of Rs70.5 million, but has not moved beyond Rs400 million till date, in over three and a half weeks.
The dubbed version of the Shankar film I' with music by AR Rahman has not managed more than Rs17.5 million on the opening day and has managed around Rs110 million in over two weeks at the box office.
January 16 saw films like the unknown Anjaan Parindey' release and vanish without a trace. Hrithik's good friend and former brother in law Zayed Khan's comeback film Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene' could not collect enough money to buy a few gallons of oil at the box office and flopped miserably.
The Prakash Jha production Crazy Cukkad Family' was promoted at the fag end of the release of the film and did beat not the Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene collections by much. Both films did not even touch Rs4 million at the box office for makers.
Much was expected of the Bipasha Basu film Alone'. The audience could actually get two Bipasha Basus for the price of one along with newcomer Karan Singh Grover.
The film produced by Ajay Devgn's secretary Kumar Mangat was very heavily promoted by the actors with a lot of money spent for the same. But then the film which opened at Rs35 million on the first day has not even managed Rs200 million till date at the Indian BO in over two weeks of running.
It was being expected that Sonam Kapoor would do far better now with this film than what other films have done. But then this Arbaaz Khan produced film Dolly Ki Doli' was not promoted much by Salman Khan and it was left to Sonam and Pulkit Samrat, apart from Rajkummar Rao to move the film ahead and they haven't been able to manage to collect even Rs200 million.
The Akshay Kumar-starrer Baby' directed by Neeraj Pandey got the best reviews from the critics and despite being in the news and controversies did not manage to come close to the magic Rs1000 million rupee or the Rs100 crore mark that is considered very sacrosanct for a film's success.
Baby' was expected to tough that benchmark in the first week of release, but it could not after a Rs93 million first day collection.
The Mahesh Bhatt camp film Khamoshiyan' which was a dose of horrotica, horror laced with erotica, didn't do any justice to the kind of box office collections that the Bhatt camp normally churns out. A film like Pooja Bhatt's Jism 2' had an opening day of over Rs8 crores when it released two and a half years ago.
