The Kill Dil actress was offered the role which later went to Deepika Padukone. Seeing the success of the film now, does Pari regret her decision to turn down the film?
The Amitabh Bachchan-Deepika Padukone starrer Piku winning big not just at the Box office but also in terms of critical praise and audience love. The viewers are loving Piku and Bhaskors bittersweet relationship. Not a lot of people know that before Piku went to Dippy, it was offered to Parineeti Chopra. At the time Pari had already signed Daawat-E-Ishq, which was also about the father-daughter relationship. Parineeti didn't want to do another movie on similar lines, so she turned down the film. Her loss was Deepika's gain and we all know the fate Daawat-E-Ishq met at the Box office.
Had Parineeti decided to give a nod to Shoojit Sircar for Piku, it could have become a turning point in her career which seems to be plummeting currently. Pari has no films in hand post the Kill Dil debacle and Piku could have been a game-changer. Well, after watching Deepika's perfromance in the film we'd say that we wouldn't have had it any other way but we certainly wonder what the film would have been like had it been Parineeti and not Dippy playing the lead role!
