But, KJo, are YOU actually empowering writers? Do you pay them more or give them any proper recognition?

The last time I saw anyone empower a writer was YRF when they promoted SDR as a film by the writer Jaideep Sahni.

also piku by juhi chaturvedi! shoojit empowered his whole team

even zoya goes on n on about writers shud be paid just like her dad

But even Salman's JH underperformed/flopped last year only. His fans disappeared for that film?

Nahh, the trailers/parcel/overall content matters. Kick made double the money of JH...because it looked better and was a better film.

The issue with jai ho and will repeat the zillionath time, was the studio paid more..despite the negatives that it made over 100 crore, and took a good opening..but ye it didnt do as well as expected but it got a semi hit tag, were it not sold at such a high price it would have been a hit!!

Other movies who have done less or the same business some got clean hit tags as they werent sold at a huge price..a

And opening and it making this much money and that too on a non-holiday was due to SALMAN only!!

I think as a sign of respect for the now bankrupt producers of BV, everyone associated wth BV should now disappear from all public appearances and interviews for at least a month.

The problem is the lack of quality. Not screens, not big names, nothing. It is the writing that is the problem, which is the most pathetic I have seen around the world (big industries).

Take last year for example. How many movies were there which would score a B compared to the rest of the world?? You would name them on finger tips. I haven't seen all the movie but 2014 had only 5-6 movies that I would call as really good. That is just pathetic.
And this is an industry which gives out a movie at least, every Friday.

I can name about 30 or so from Hollywood and I haven't seen more than 70 percent of the movies that have comes out.

The argument that people can't understand quality cinema is one of the most idiotic ones I have seen. An equally worse one is that only stars can bring people to the theaters. No, good writing, entertaining and engaging plots is what people pay to see.

Coming to this year; just four hits so far;
Piku.
Badlapur.
DLKH.
NH10.

No big stars, no big budget, just pure content. And two of them are A rated thrillers.

Has he himself ever put the things in practice, which he talks about?

His films do not give that impression.

He is among those who popularised star vehicles over good, different scripts.

Everyone keeps talking about writers but most writers are in dire straits. Either low paid or their script gets stolen or they are denied credit.

All these interviews are hogwash. They never practise what they preach.

Now at least maybe Ranbir should not charge 30 crores for a film like BV. Maybe he should be the first one to return the amount to the studio that bought BV for 100 crores something.
