The problem is the lack of quality. Not screens, not big names, nothing. It is the writing that is the problem, which is the most pathetic I have seen around the world (big industries).
Take last year for example. How many movies were there which would score a B compared to the rest of the world?? You would name them on finger tips. I haven't seen all the movie but 2014 had only 5-6 movies that I would call as really good. That is just pathetic.
And this is an industry which gives out a movie at least, every Friday.
I can name about 30 or so from Hollywood and I haven't seen more than 70 percent of the movies that have comes out.
The argument that people can't understand quality cinema is one of the most idiotic ones I have seen. An equally worse one is that only stars can bring people to the theaters. No, good writing, entertaining and engaging plots is what people pay to see.
Coming to this year; just four hits so far;
Piku.
Badlapur.
DLKH.
NH10.
No big stars, no big budget, just pure content. And two of them are A rated thrillers.
