Indian Idol is NOT for playback singers. Its for pop artists with average talent and excellent performing skills.

Out of the current lot of II contestants, only Emon is upto par with SRGMP and SVOI contestants.

see i thought we were looking for a great singer. later on wut they do, well it depends on wut offers they get and stuff, so we cant tell.

But yes, in India a succussful signer is oen who rules playback really, their considered the ebst of the best. So that should be the aim of all new talent i think.

When I saw the show last year, I thought we were looking for a playback singer. This is what Sonu said and I thought this year too it would be the search for a playback singer espcially since we didn't have anyone judging performance. I mean do we have a choreographer to judge performance? The producers don't care, for them it's all about making money.

Ah! NO..... If there is anyone good with potential then its Amit in Indian Idol.

He is versatile...He is at ease with Jhoomroo to a In Dino from Metro.

But he needs Votes to get nearer to realise his dreams.

why you people are categorising II to play back or to performance

i think indian idol is looking for a great singer who can do play back and pop albums also.

dont categorise pop albums means folk songs by ila arun or meaningless songs by alisha

sonu nigam had given pop songs and alsbums, shreya, chitra, named few.

these singers are play back singers.

in my concept II is looking for a talent like them great singer who can sing in pop songa and also play back.

and performance - if you say stage performance i find all the contestants were very good in the rubaroo and stage shows because they are not judged that time , they were doing everything bindaas.
so if they are on stage they will set fire, with their voice, performance and courage.

an for acting in albms i dont think this contestant will find it difficult who re alway 24/7 under camera eyes. they all know to act well.

so its all about great singing.

i dont get what II3 is trying to find bc they put so much importance on performance unlike SRGMP who are more into singing...i really dont like II3 anymore...

Yes, it has made my bheja fry as well! I thought they were looking for overall, nad overall performer, and that would be good in some departments and average in others or at best good in others. But, for only playback singnig for Aishwarya Rai or Hrithik Roshan, you dont' need a performer, gaana aacha ho to chalega. So, I don't know what training they are giving contestants!
