Happy Janmashtami!

We asked some celebrities about their Janmashtami plans and their memories of the festival and here is what we got.

Rucha Gujrati
"I do not have any special plans. I will watch dahi handi at my building with my friends. My memorable dahi handi was when my close friend who is very short had to break the handi. He was nervous, because of the height of the handi. Me and my friends screamed and encouraged him a lot and finally he managed to break it. Then he came and thanked us telling us that because of us he could make it."

Sharad Malhotra
"I used to enjoy Janmashtami when I was in Kolkata. We all used to go to the temple in the night. I was very fond of Janmashtami Prasad. I will go for the darshan this time too and will watch dahi handi at my place or on television."

Jay Bhanushali
"I'm looking forward to enjoying this Janmashtami because we are not shooting. I remember when I was small my mom used to make special Prasad for Krishna. We all used to enjoy dahi handi very much."

Vinod Rathod
"We used to stay in Tardeo, Mumbai where matki was very popular. It used to be 7 to 8 floors huge. From morning to evening I and my friends used to hit the crowd with water balloons while waiting to see the event but I never dared to climb and break the handi as I was scared of height. It was a fun then but now the charm has gone. The matkis have reduce their height .I don't even get time to see them because of work."

Divyanka Tripathi
"In my native Bhopal there is no such culture of dahi handi so I would like to see it this year. I have heard a lot about it. I do not know how I will manage it; I will try to adjust my shoot and go to watch it. In Bhopal, we keep fast and go to a temple at midnight. Once they had arranged dahi handi competition but nobody managed to break it."
