Hey everyone! I have the update all ready, but am skeptical about this one. It's not the best update I have written and might not be up to the mark. But nonetheless here it is...
Chapter 7 Recap"He didn't deserve you. If he says cheap things about you, then he doesn't deserve your tears let alone deserve you. Don't cry over a person who shouldn't matter."
"I know he shouldn't, but I don't know why he does..."
Chapter 8He understood what she was going through. No matter how much she denied, there was a part of her that missed her ex. And because of him, she was crying. He couldn't see her tears and wanted to do something to help her, but didn't know what. So he reached over to out his hand on her shoulder, but backed off thinking she might not be okay with it. So instead he reached over to Ruhi and took her hand and wiped off Ishita's tears making his girls smile. He looked at her as if waiting for her to say something and she did...
"I'll be okay."
"You sure?"
"She is with me, so I'm fine."
She brought Ruhi closer to herself and hugged her tightly not realizing Raman's hand was still on Ruhi's. His hand rested on her shoulder and he slowly pulled it back, not wanting to ruin his moment between the two. He stood there admiring them until Mihika showed up...
"So they are my future Jiju and niece!"
She said as she entered the room throwing away her bag and coming up to the trio. She shook hands with Raman and introduced herself properly since they didn't meet last time. And she also played with Ruhi, but she started crying after being taken away from her parents and going into the arms of a stranger. Mihika apologized as Ishita took her back and made her stop crying. Mihika turned her attention back to Raman who was standing feeling like a misfit between them.
"Wow Akka and Jiju, you two are so sneaky. Akka, he doesn't know me, but you didn't tell me anything."
They both looked over at Mihika and then at each other. Ishita rolled her eyes as Raman smiled at the sisters.
"Mihika, it was so quick and you know everything, there is nothing to hide."
"I was just kidding, relax now. By the way I haven't interviewed him yet and you already introduced him to Amma and Appa."
"Mihika be quiet." She scolded her sister.
"Ms. Iyer let her talk."
Ishita shrugged and walked out of the room not before turning around and saying...
"Have fun dealing with her, I am going onto the balcony with my baby."
Raman stood with his hands in his pocket looking here and there feeling awkward as Mihika looked at him. Finally she asked him to have a seat and said...
"Mr. Bhalla thank you so much! I haven't seen my sister happy in days. But in the past few days, she has been so happy every time she has met you and Ruhi."
"Mihika, right?" She nodded and he continued
"Well Mihika, I didn't do anything. Those two love each other and I am just a way of connecting the two."
"You will take care of my sister, right?"
"Completely! Everyone in this house is now part of my family. And my family is my priority. "
"And don't ever hurt her!" she said with a slight menacing tone pointing her finger at him. He put his hands up jokingly and laughed.
"I won't hurt her ever. And if I do then I can already see what the consequences will be." Referring to her finger that was in front of his face. She pulled back her finger and looked down at the ground...
"He also promised he wouldn't hurt her and he didn't. He broke her apart. She has gotten herself together after a long time. I don't want to see her hurt again. " she said with tears in her eyes.
"No one will hurt her anymore. I promise you."
Ishita walked into the moment telling Mihika to go help Amma with dinner and asked Raman to come outside to join them.
"Actually not now, we should get going."
"Already?" she said as she clutched onto Ruhi tighter.
"I have a few meetings lined up tomorrow, so I need to do get some work done now. Mom & Ruhi also get tired fast, so we should really go."
"Okay..." she said disappointed. She handed Ruhi over to him and before walking into the living room she turned back and said...
"You should also get some rest, it's a big day for you tomorrow. Your first day at work."
She nodded and followed him till the door where they bid goodbye. As he exited the door, she rushed to her balcony where she waved to him as he got into his car waving back. It was like the day they had first met, that day their relationship didn't work out despite their parent's persuasion and today they themselves want to get married.

She sat on her bed reading a book as Mihika running n and hugged her from behind.
"Akka, you're happy right?"
"Very happy Mihika! Ruhi is like my life now, I completely forget about everything else when I am with her and you know Mr. Bhalla told me that she is never calm with anyone else like she is with me. She loves me as much as I love her."
"And what about Mr. Bhalla himself?"
"What about him?" she asked confused.
"Akka you know what I mean, can you really live a loveless marriage for your whole life?"
She smiled at her concern...
"Mihika, you weren't there, but today he showed me how much he respects me as a person and he cares for me. As far as love is concerned. I don't I can ever get anyone's love besides my children."
"Are you stop believing in love because of one person?"
"No, I believe in love or else I wouldn't have agreed for this. I have love, Ruhi's love. Mummyji is also so sweet and caring. And I feel like I have already found a friend in him. This is all enough for me."
"Are you sure?"
"I am and if that's not enough I have Amma and Appa's love. I also have your suffocating love as well." She laughed referring to Mihika's hug. She let go of Ishita and pouted before walking out of the room to leaving Ishita giggling.

He sat on his bed finishing off his office work, but his thoughts were somewhere else altogether. Between looking at his laptop and Ruhi, all he could think about was her. The things she had said to him and Mihika's words as well. For the first time, he saw the hurt and pain she was going through. He felt selfish for only thinking about his own problems, but he forgot about her. She was also getting married for her child and that meant she was with a relationship with someone else before. And clearly she wasn't over it either. He felt angry at this unknown person for hurting her and wanted to give him a piece of his mind for hurting her. He wanted to know what had happened to her since he had promised Mihika she wouldn't be hurt anymore, but more than anything because he couldn't see her hurt anymore.

PSR - The next day
She entered the huge building and this time there was hardly any nervousness and more confidence in her. She walked a cabin to meet with the manager who told explained her responsibilities and everything else she needed to know. Then she was introduced to everyone else and taken into her own cabin. It was a small cabin with basic necessities laid out and was nothing compared to his office she had been in whenever she entered this building. The receptionist walked in with some papers to hand to her and she commented on the size of the cabin as well, telling her his previous secretary had a much bigger place to work than what she was getting. As she left, Ishita mumbled to herself...
"Fine, he wants to keep out personal and professional relationship separated, but what is all this? He could have given me a normal cabin like everyone else."
She worked all day organizing the mess of papers in front of her desk and put things the way she wanted. She adjusted a couple of things around the desk and then got to work. She walked around her cabin looking at everything around. A few people dropped by at lunch to say hi and that was pretty much it for getting to know anyone. She went back to work and hoped she would be able to meet him at least once today, but he was nowhere to be seen since the morning. The day was almost coming to an end and it was 4. She packed her things and left to leave saying bye to a few people she had started talking to. As she was walking to the parking lot, she spotted him there as well. He was standing by his car talking on the phone. She stood behind him and waited for him to finish up. He felt someone behind his back and turned around to find her there. As he put down his phone, she stood with her arms crossed and she looked mad. She went to the side not wanting anyone to see him with her and he followed.
"What was all that?" she asked as they stopped in a corner.
"What?" he was all confused.
"Giving me the smallest cabin on the floor, why?"
"I just did." he replied casually looking at his phone.
"So in order to show how fair you are and how you don't differentiate, you will give me the worst place to work in. That's not right!"
"It's not about being fair because if that was the case, then I would be considered biased towards you." he said in a casual tone finally looking up at her.
She looked at him confused as he went on to explain...
"Maybe Ms. Iyer you weren't told this. But I gave you that cabin for your convenience. It is the closest cabin to the bathroom, elevator and my own cabin. Just get on the elevator and once you reach the top floor, my cabin is right in front of you. The bathroom is hardly 10 steps away and the elevator is almost next to you. It is smaller compared to the others, but I felt like it was better. If you want it changed, just let me know and you will get the one the previous secretary used." he explained looking very serious.
She was tongue-tied and didn't know what to say to him. He smiled and started to walk away not before asking...
"Ma wants you to come to the mall with me, so you can buy your wedding dress. When will you be able to come?"
"Tomorrow? And..."
"I will bring Ruhi..."
He said bye and walked away to his car and looked at her still standing there staring at him with a smile on her face. He texted her
"Don't stare your future husband in public😉 Just kidding...but seriously go home now."
She came out of her trance as she heard her phone go off and slowly walked away to her car and so they both went to their own homes...
