CHAPTER - 9 (CONTD...)

A new person entered into the house of Niranjan. Niranjan saw him and hugged him." How are you man?" he asked. "I'm fine. But you do not even care about saying that you are getting married." That man replied. Niranjan laughed shortly and said "you yourself came here for my wedding right? Then what?" he said. Niranjan's mother akila came there and hugged the man and blessed him. How are you?' she asked. " aayi, he is Mr. vikram kapoor, the great businessman, how he would be?" niranjan replied and smiled. That man, vikram asked niranjan to stop praising him and asked about his future wife(Anjali). Niranjan asked him to first come to his room and relax. They both went upstairs ad sat. But he was pestering niranjan to show anjali's pic, as he has to see his friend's better-half. Niranjan smiled and took her photo and showed it to him.

He got shocked seeing anjali's pic as she was his childhood friend and he also had an eye for her since teenage. Niranjan looked at his shocked expression and asked what happened? Don't you like Anjali?' Vikram smiled and said Of course I like her. She is a perfect match for you.'And he added Hope, this your Anjali does not leave you as kavita did.' Niranjan became angry and pulled the photo from his hands and shouted at him "Don't ever speak ill about my Anjali." he said. Vikram asked him to cool down and apologized for remembering about kavita. Niranjan took few minutes to get calmed and then spoke naturally with him.

Next morning vikram went inside niranjan's room after he had gone to office and took anjali's photo and came to his room. He looked at her photo and said "Anjali, how beautiful you are. A girl as beautiful as you should not escape from me, after falling in my eyes. That too, we are childhood friends and I always had an eye for you. You escaped from me and now you are going to wed this niranjan agnihotri. Never baby never. As long as I'm there, I'll never let him marry you before I experience you." He became the villain for Anjali and niranjan's love.

Niranjan was in his cabin and called Anjali. She took the call." Hello". "Hello, Mrs .Anjali niranjan agnihotri . How are you?"he asked. There was silence on the other side. "Anjali are you there? What happened?" he asked concerned. Anjali started to cry shortly. He smiled and said" Anjali, are you a baby? You are crying for all these. Just a matter of two days and you're going to return to me". Anjali replied "I just can't control. That's why. I miss you so much niranjan." Niranjan let out a huge breath and replied "oho! My cute wife, don't worry when you return I'll welcome you very specially so that you will forget all these sorrows." Anjali smiled and said to him about her friend's wedding arrangements and they both were spending some time peacefully by speaking. Then, Anjali bid him bye and cut the call.

After half an hour, police came inside niranjan's cabin and arrested him. He asked the reason but they asked him to first come to the police station. He got arrested and the news spread like fire. Media was surrounding the police station and niranjan was inside the cell. Vikram came there and niranjan asked him " vikram, what is going on here? Who gave complaint on me, for what reason?" he asked. Vikram sighed and said " niranjan, I think you should forget Anjali." Niranjan got irritated and pulled his collar," what are you saying? What is there for Anjali to interfere in this matter?" he asked. Vikram left his hand and said "Anjali's parents only gave complaint on you. They somehow got to know about your relationship with kavita. They could not risk their daughter's life. So..." Niranjan got very angry and said" kavita is my past and now, I do not even know where she is? Then how could I have a relationship with her? What nonsense is all this?" he shouted. Vikram sighed and said "Niranjan, I could understand. But, to my knowledge the best way for you to get out is to forget Anjali. Because I know her from childhood, she was my friend and she always had an eye for rich persons. It would be shocking for you, but the truth is before she loved you, we both were loving each other." Niranjan looked at him, shocked." And when she came to know that it would take a long time for me to come back from America, I think she then chased you as you are a wealthy man and planned to wed you." He said. Niranjan again pulled him by his collar and said angrily "Don't ever dare to speak ill about my Anjali." Vikram pulled off from him and said "I said what I knew; it is your wish now to take a proper decision." And then he left from the station, leaving niranjan in a shattered state.

Next day Anjali returned to the city. She waved her friends bye and searched for niranjan in the railway station. But she felt very bad when she could not find him anywhere. She waited for more than two hours inside the platform and saw the newspaper read by a man sitting opposite to her. It carried the headline "The great business tycoon Mr.Niranjan Agnihotri is arrested ". She felt as if thunder had struck her and ran to see niranjan. She went to the police station and got the message that he was released just few hours back. So she went to his home. Vinayak was sitting there and saw her running and coming. He shouted "Stop! Do not enter our home."Anjali was shocked and saw akila. Akila looked at her with both piercing and sorrowful expressions. Anjali shouted "I want to see niranjan" and tried to go upstairs but was blocked by vinayak. He said" He is not here and you cannot see him. I have not seen such a cheapster woman who would long for money till date. I thought!that you longed for money when you were looking at our mansion with utter amazement. Very cheap!". Anjali became confused and started to shed tears as she did not know what happened. Niranjan came there and gave a hard slap to vinayak. He has been hearing all these for the past few minutes. Everyone looked at niranjan with a shocked expression. Anjali saw him and felt happy. He again raised his hand to slap vinayak, but was stopped by Anjali. She was holding his hand to stop him. Niranjan quickly pulled his hand off from her. She felt shattered at this gesture. Niranjan stood there fuming with anger. His mother akila confronted him for behaving like this with his brother for the sake of Anjali. Niranjan also shouted at his mother, not to say a word against Anjali. Anjali stood there with red blood shot eyes. All his family members went away, leaving Niranjan and Anjali alone in the main hall.

CHAPTER - 10

Anjali looked at niranjan with teary eyes. He looked at her and he also started to leave. She pushed him aside and shouted "What the hell is happening here?" He became shocked as he had not seen her with this much anger. She continued shouting with tears, "why were you arrested? And why all are complaining me? I came here worried for you as soon as I came to the station and here you are just going off without explaining me anything and you are also avoiding me! What wrong did I do?" Niranjan was looking at her with tears brimming in his eyes. She let a huge breath and went near him and took his hand in hers. "Are you okay? What happened? I could not understand anything. No one is saying me anything. Please you at least say to me niranjan" she pleaded to him like a baby. He saw his Anjali with tears, whom he loved so much and whom he trusted so much. He knew that she was a very good woman and loved him so much, that he could see in her eyes. She held his hand and cried and asked him to say something. He could not look at his Anjali who was broken down to this extent and just embraced her tightly. She cried out when he embraced her and he was consoling her. " shhh... shh... Anjali,no." Anjali was very hurt that she still hugged back him even more tightly. He held her face and wiped her tears, took her hand in his and went out with her.

He brought her to the same barren land area, to which he had brought her at the beginning and asked her to listen carefully." Anjali for the past three days, there were some rumours about you. All tried to make me forget you. They all spoke ill about you and persuaded me to not marry you. I also have to say this thing.I had a past and I loved a woman named kavita. She left me for money. I became shattered and turned into a male chauvinist. Then you happened in my life and now I love you, I will always love you, no matter what anyone would say." He just gave a small gist and she looked at him sternly and asked "who spoke ill of me?". Niranjan hesitated to answer and then sighed and said "your childhood friend and now my friend, vikram kapoor." Anjali became shocked and went near niranjan and spoke continuously out of shock "niranjan, that vikram is a very bad man. He was trying to marry me forcefully and now he is trying to separate us. I'm worried. He can go to any extent. I'm worried. Trust me I am not a money minded girl. Do not leave me niranjan, do not leave me please!" she said with tears. Niranjan felt very bad for his Anjali. He hugged her and caressed her hair and said that everything's going to be alright. She started crying, still hugging him and feared that her niranjan would go away from her. He held her face, wiped off her tears and kissed her in the forehead and promised her that he loves her and trusts her more than anyone in this world'. She hugged him and they both solved the problem with their unbreakable trust there itself.

The next day, niranjan decided to throw vikram out of the office and his house. But Anjali stopped him saying that they still have to prove that vikram is a wrong man to all the family members and then only, their marriage would happen. Also they both had a plan against vikram as he was trying to snatch away the properties of niranjan.They somehow found that matter. They planned to act as if they had parted and tried to prove that vikram was wrong. Anjali went to vikram's cabin and asked him permission to carry on her work there itself. He enjoyed inside and agreed. Anjali did her work and simultaneously was keeping a constant watch on vikram and the documents. On the other hand, vikram was eyeing her all the time and was waiting to get the right chance to make her his. One day, Anjali called niranjan. He took up the phone and went to the terrace to answer her so that no one would notice. "Yes anjali."he asked. She felt as if her niranjan was missing all these days. The way he asked her' yes Anjali left her the impression that he has not fully believed her still. She let a huge breath and continued "Um. Niranjan, vikram is going somewhere out today evening. So, let us search for the documents at that time." He agreed and asked her to come to his house that day eve. "What! How could i? She said." Come as if you have to give me some papers" he gave her the idea. She thought, Today I have lost my niranjan's trust and also the authority of entering his house as his wife.' She swallowed her tears and said okay.

That day evening she came to his house and entered the hall, but was stopped by her MIL Akila. "What business do you have here?" she asked Anjali, sternly. "I just came here to give some important papers to niran... I mean to sir". Anjali replied. Niranjan asked his mother from upstairs, to allow Anjali to come to his room and akila also allowed her to go. Anjali thanked her and went to his room. After she entered, niranjan locked the room and asked her to sit in the couch. He sat on the bed. She noticed that he is keeping distance from her and let a huge breath. Niranjan started to speak about the plan. She also gave him all the details about vikram and gave the papers to him. When he was going through the papers he asked, " What does these notations signify?" he did not get any reply. Still bending down he asked, "Anjali?" Then he looked up and saw her face bent down. She was sitting on the couch as if she was sitting on thorns. He went near her and lifted her by her chin. There Anjali was silently crying and her eyes became red blood shot. He wiped her tears and asked "what happened? Why are you crying?" but she leaned on his shoulder sideways and started to cry.He too put his arms around her neck, sideways and tried to console her.

Then he sat near her and she slept on his thigh and wept. He caressed her hair and asked" what happened Anjali? Why are you worried?" She moved back from his thigh and wiped her tears and started to leave, but was held by niranjan. He held her hand not letting her go. He made her sit near him and again asked the reason for her worry. She said with much difficulty," I, I don't think I could keep you happy. If in these three days I have shattered you so much, then for the full lifetime, you would always get worried by me. I don't want that to happen. I love you more than anything in this world and I want you always to be happy. You should not regret because of me. I can feel that you are distancing yourself from me. Let me go." Niranjan turned her to face him, by holding her face, one side and said, "You are my happiness, you are my world and I'll do anything for you and I trust you more than anyone in this world Anjali. If you do not believe my love for you," she cut him across and said, "Am I speaking all these without believing in our love. You are so very bad". Niranjan smiled and went near her to kiss her. He kissed her on both the eyes and then he kissed her forehead. She then hugged him and they both spent that eve, hugging each other.

CHAPTER - 11

They both went to the office secretly, and sneaked into vikram's cabin. Niranjan sighed and said "I'm coming into my own office, as a third person." Anjali patted him on the shoulder and said that everything would be alright. He then asked her to search for the documents in the shelves and said that he would search for it in the cupboard. She agreed and they both started searching. While, they were searching, vikram was coming to his cabin. Luckily, niranjan heard his footsteps and voice as he was speaking with someone in the phone. He dragged Anjali and they both hid themselves at a narrow corner between the wall and the cupboard. Vikram came inside and was still speaking on the phone "yes darling. Sure, sure I'll be there for the dinner." He said. Anjali was looking at him and she was venting with anger "Cheap fellow "she said under her breath. But niranjan was busy in looking at his Anjali. They both were standing so close to each other, as the place was very crooked. He slowly touched her hips and dragged her even more close. She became startled and gave him the expression to leave her. But he only smiled and was smoothly caressing her hair. She felt too much and was trying to stop niranjan. But he only smiled at her.vikram was standing there and was still speaking on the phone. Niranjan moved her hair and held her cheeks and went near her to kiss her. She closed his mouth and signalled at vikram. Niranjan waved him off and was trying to kiss her. They both were spending romantic moments, while vikram was inside the cabin. Then he went out taking his watch from the draw. After he went out, Anjali came out of the narrow corner and scolded niranjan "what were you doing? If he had seen us?" niranjan again pulled her close to him and said "it is like just for name sake we love each other. But till now I have not even kissed my own lover." Anjali smiled and turned his face and kissed him on his cheek. He looked at her with amazement and was touching his cheek on which she kissed him. She tapped him and asked to search for the documents.

At last, Anjali found the documents inside the draw's locker. She gave it to niranjan and he went through it."Thank god Anjali. Finally, documents are in our hands. Here after, nothing to worry.I'll show that vikram his place. "He said with anger. She caressed his shoulder and nodded her head. He put her arms around her and they hugged each other. Next day morning, niranjan's mother akila was serving vikram with tea. When he was about to drink that tea, niranjan came and stumbled the teacup. Anjali was also there. vikram, akila and vinayak were shocked." Niranjan what are you doing?" his mother asked him. But niranjan turned to Anjali and signalled her. She nodded her head and called up her parents. "Aayi, baba come inside." They all were confused. Anjali's parents came inside and they were also equally confused as no one knew what was going on there. Niranjan stared at vikram with anger and said "The man whom we all trusted is a fraud. This vikram, whom I considered as my closest friend, cheated me. This same vikram, cooked up some stories about Anjali and tried to separate me from her and I also risked my love for him." Anjali looked at niranjan with teary eyes. He continued

"Aayi. This vikram whom you considered as your son, tried to snatch away our properties from us. And saas baba and aayi' he mentioned anjali's parents "this same vikram tried to marry Anjali forcefully in the name of childhood friendship." They all were shocked. Anjali shed some tears.

Then police entered the house and arrested vikram. All were standing still. Before going vikram shouted at niranjan " niranjan, do you think by sending me to jail, all your problems would be cleared? Never, now only your biggest problem starts." He said and looked at Anjali and niranjan and went away with the police. Then akila, vinayak and anjali's parents started apologizing to each other and akila went and hugged Anjali. Anjali got emotional and she also hugged vinayak. He cried, "I'm sorry veini. Without knowing I spoke ill about you I'm really sorry. She said "No bhaoji, you always made me feel comfortable. To say the truth, more than our veini- bhaoji relation, I feel like we are mother and son. Vinayak and everyone smiled. Then niranjan said that he has an important work and went out. Anjali looked at him going out and then was again hugged by her MIL.

That day night, Anjali was in her house and could not sleep. She was restless thinking about niranjan. Then her door opened and someone came inside and she was about to shout " thie..." but her mouth got closed by that hand. It was none other but niranjan. He asked her not to shout and come with him, without taking his hand away from her mouth. She was just looking into his eyes and got shaken by niranjan." Anjali, come with me!" he said. Anjali replied "But where?" He thought that this would not work out and lifted her and went out. He carried her all the way to his car. Anjali was surprised but she dare not shout as she enjoyed his carrying her. He made her sit in the car and started the car and drove it. After a long drive they came to a temple. Niranjan asked her to come with him inside and they both went. He asked her to pray and they both prayed. After that she asked him "At this late night why are we here to pray. We could have come at the morning right?" He took out a black coloured chain which bore the mangalsutra fob and said "This is not just a simple chain; it is a mangalsutra according to me.I would like to put this around your neck and honour you as my wife, Anjali. I could not see you getting worried thinking about our marriage. That will happen now." Anjali's eyes were brimming with tears and she leaned forward her neck, showing that she agreed. Niranjan tied the mangalsutra around her neck and she closed her eyes during that. Then he applied kumkum on her forehead. She swallowed her tears and let out a huge breath. Then they exchanged garlands. "From now on, you are my wife and I am your husband, no one can change that. With the evidence of god, we have married in a temple. No one can stop us from becoming husband and wife even if they think to." Niranjan said politely. Anjali embraced him and he hugged her back. That night was an unexpected night for both of them as it destined their marriage; as they became husband and wife on that night.

CHAPTER - 12

Next day morning, Anjali woke up from her sleep. She was leaning on niranjan's shoulder and they both slept at the temple itself. She woke him up and asked "now what should we do?" niranjan saw her and replied "we have to go to home and reveal our parents that we got married." They both left the place and went to niranjan's house. There both anjali's parents and niranjan's mother akila was waiting for niranjan and Anjali, as they both were missing from night. Vinayak was speaking with some authorities and tried to find them both. At that niranjan and Anjali entered the house with garlands on their necks. Everyone was shocked. Latha saw anjali's black thread (mangalsutra) and kumkum on her forehead. Akila went near niranjan and asked"what's all this?". He revealed that they both got married yesterday night at the temple.

Everyone became utterly shocked and Anjali's mother gave a slap to Anjali. Niranjan asked her not to hurt Anjali as it was his decision to get her married. "She did not know about this at all". Anjali's father gave a slap to niranjan and Anjali became shocked and shouted "We both are anyways going to get married. And we married ourselves.Why you all are giving this punishment to us?". Akila said "Marriage is not something to play with. The bride and the bridegroom should marry in the presence of elders with their blessings and with all the rituals. Then only their marriage gets fulfilled. This is not a marriage and I will not accept you as an agnihotri bahu till you both get married properly." She said. Niranjan said "Okay, then let us get married tomorrow itself. Today there will be sangeet and mehndi function and tomorrow we will get married." All of them were shocked at his decision. Anjali was also equally shocked."aayi I did not do this to hurt you all. But understand my feelings. I did not wish to see Anjali worried because of the past week's happenings. The only way I could give her my trust is our marriage. You all wanted us to get married right? Then what let us get married tomorrow" niranjan said to his mother politely. Anjali also nodded her head, slowly. Akila and anjali's parents agreed and said "Why you all are standing here simply. Go and do the arrangements for the sangeet" niranjan's mother scolded all. They all smiled and went to do the arrangements.

Anjali went to her home and fell on the bed feeling happy. She then received a call from niranjan. "Yes my lovely patidev." She said. Niranjan smiled and replied "My lovely patni. Our marriage is going to happen in my house as it is a big mansion. So, you take your family members and come here soon." Anjali said okay and cut the call. She then informed her parents and got ready to go her house, as it became hers now. They all reached niranjan's house and were welcomed grandly by niranjan's family members. They did the aarti and then sangeet started. All were happily dancing for the songs. Niranjan and Anjali were seated at the couch and they were enjoying the sangeet. Vinayak gave a special performance and then took Anjali and niranjan to the dance floor. First, "maathadu maathadu malligae" song played and they both danced as if they were in opposite teams. Then "radha likes to party" song played and niranjan was teasing Anjali and danced. Then suddenly lights were put off and "teri meri" love song played and lights were focused on niranjan and Anjali. Niranjan and Anjali were looking at each other and he took her hand in his and put his other hand around her waist. She placed her hand on his shoulder and they started to dance. They both danced so gracefully and had an eyelock throughout the dance. It was filled with emotions for them both. Then the sangeet got over and everyone went to sleep.

Next day afternoon, mehndi function started and all the ladies were putting mehndi in their hands. Anjali finished putting her mehndi and went to niranjan's room. He was busy talking with someone on the phone. So she waited for him to finish and then he saw her and came. He looked at her. She was wearing a yellow with blue coloured said" wow. It's looking beautiful." She asked him to look at it more properly. He saw it more keenly and said out "NA". It stands for "Niranjan agnihotri" Anjali replied. He smiled at her. She then waved him bye and started to leave. But her saree pallu got stuck to the couch's pin and she struggled to take it off with having mehndi in her hands. Niranjan helped her in taking it off and then the saree fell swiftly, releasing all the fleets into a single fleet. Anjali got shocked as she could not go down having her saree fallen. Niranjan took the pallu and was taking fleets one by one. As he took the fleets Anjali was made to move near him. He then placed all the fleets on her shoulder and put pin. She felt very shy and was trying to get way as soon as he finished putting the pin. But niranjan swiftly put his arms around her hips and moved very close to her. She looked at his eyes. He caressed her hair and stuck it at her ear end and she smiled a bit and tried to move away. He then held her chin up and made her to look into his eyes. She looked at him and then hugged him feeling shy.

That day night, their wedding was to take place. Pandit ji asked akila to bring Anjali to the mandab. Niranjan was already welcomed there by anjali's family memebers. Anjali was brought by akila and her friends to the mandab. Everyone's eyes were stuck on her. Niranjan looked at her, awestruck. She looked like a fairy princess in her red coloured bridal dress with all the jewelleries. Anjali met niranjan's eyes and then bent down feeling shy. Anjali's mother came and kissed her on the forehead and made her to sit in the mandab. Then the rituals started and Anjali, niranjan were following it. Pandit ji asked niranjan's aunt to put the ghat bhandan and then anjali's parents did the kanyaadhaan. Then niranjan took the mangalsutra and tied it around anjali's neck, smiling. A tear or two dropped from anjali's eyes and he wiped her tears. She smiled being happy and then he applied kumkum on her forehead. Pandit ji asked them both to exchange garlands. The screen between them was removed and niranjan put the garland on anjali's neck. When Anjali came to put the garland, niranjan playfully stood higher. She sighed at him and then smiled putting the garland on his neck. Then they both came round the mandab seven times. Pandit ji informed "Now they have become rightfully husband and wife". Everyone felt happy and smiled at them. Niranjan and Anjali holded each other's hands being happy.

CHAPTER - 13

Then Anjali was dropped in her home as that would be her last occasion in her home, ritually. Her mother did the aarti to niranjan and Anjali. Her father gave them some gifts. After spending some time, vinayak, niranjan and their cousin diya started to leave. Anjali got emotional and hugged her mother and cried. Her father caressed her hair and blessed her, hugging her. He then held niranjan's hand and said "Our daughter is everything for us. Please take care of her". Niranjan replied "I'll take care of your daughter more than you did, because I love her more than you all." Anjali smiled with tears and then bid bye to her family members and went off with niranjan in the car. Inside the car she was sobbing continuously.vinayak and diya were seated in the front and Anjali and niranjan were seated at the back. Vinayak said "veini, stop crying. You come to our home and see. It would be full of masti." Diya supported him and they both started singing songs which made Anjali smile a bit. Niranjan then held her face and wiped off her tears gently. She leaned on his shoulder and he hugged her back.

They reached the agnihotri nivas and akila did the aarti to Anjali and niranjan. Anjali pushed the rice bowl gently with her foot and entered the house. Then she touched the red aarti and placed her hands on the wall of the house. Then she stood on the aarti plate and walked in the house with printing her red footprints. Niranjan admired Anjali while she was doing all these. And then all of them prayed to the ganpathi bappa idol there. Anjali was taken to the guest room and niranjan went to his own room. After few hours akila and diya readied Anjali for her suhaag raat. They took her up to a room near terrace which was decorated with flowers and candles. Anjali was left there inside the room alone and she was waiting for niranjan to come. At that time she remembered all her romantic scenes with him. That love confession scene, then the office romance inside the narrow area, then their embrace at the hill top. She felt very happy and grateful to have a husband like him. Then her thoughts were interrupted as niranjan came in. He locked the room's door and sat near Anjali facing her. She bent down her face. He looked at her and raised her face by her chin. She looked at him directly into the eyes. He saw her eyes and came close to her. She was breathing fast. Then he slowly touched her hands and held her face. She closed her eyes and expected a kiss. But niranjan's face suddenly turned from smiling into anger. He held her face tightly. She became frightened and looked at him shocked. He said "Did you think I married you to give you all the happiness?" Anjali was still looking at him shocked. He raised her from the bed and pushed her to the floor. Anjali fell down and was shocked. He said "No. I married you to pay my debt to you; to torture you." Anjali was sitting on the floor as if she was seeing somebody kill someone. Niranjan's posture changed and he sat at the bed with his legs crossed. He said "I do not know whether you know this or not. But because of you and your family, my father died." Anjali looked at him with a shocked expression. He continued "I considered my father as my everything and he left me because of your family. This dark secret, even my family members does not know. I saw your father and some of his friends killing my father, due to ego. Your cheap father wanted money and decided to kill my father as he was a big businessman and tried to steal away all our money." Anjali stammered, "what ,what are you saying? My father will not do such crimes". Niranjan went near her and held her arms tightly. He said "Oh really! That is why he did such a big crime by killing my father. Even my family members do not know this. Only I know this thing and', he caressed her cheeks and said, 'as you are my darling wife I shared this with you, at our suhaag raat. Hope you enjoy it." Anjali turned away her face from him with tears.

He then said "listen carefully. I do not love you" Anjali looked directly at his eyes with a shocked expression." I hate you and your family to the core. To take revenge, I married you. You can't escape from me." He started to leave but then again sat near her on the floor and said "feeling very sad for you Anjali. You trusted me so much. But what to do? I'm a very bad man. And you would have had expectations about our first night, na? He pursed his lips and said "I don't think you could enjoy it. Anyways a very, very sad married life Mrs. Anjali Niranjan Agnihotri" and he left the room. Anjali sat there as if she had witnessed someone being murdered, still not believing her own ears. Then she cried her lungs out and spent a very demolishing suhaag raat which demolished her happiness.

Net day morning niranjan came to the dining table for breakfast and started to eat. But before he could eat a piece, akila enquired about Anjali. He thought about yesterday's night happenings and said that he will go and see. He searched for her in his room thinking that she might have come. Then he went to the room near the terrace and saw her there sleeping on the floor. He locked the door and went near her. He saw her face which was swollen due to continuous crying and smiled. He then took a glass of water and poured it on her face, fast. She got up; startled and saw niranjan standing there with glass in his hand. She cleaned her face and stood up to face him. She went and hugged him, hoping that it was all a dream. She cried and said "Niranjan you are acting right. You are trying to frighten me right. This is all a game". He pushed her from him so fast that she went and hit on the shelves. Her forehead got hit and blood started drooping slowly. He looked at her sternly and said "I am not playing any damn game here. Come into the reality world Anjali. I feel very bad for you". He held her close to him by holding her hands tightly. It was very painful for her. He then dragged her to his room and pushed her aside. He ordered her to get ready as akila is calling her down. She swallowed both her tears and fear and went inside the bathroom to get ready. It took twenty minutes for her and she came out wearing a saree. Niranjan saw her and threw first aid materials on her face for her wound. It fell on the floor. He then said "come soon. Understood!" and then left the room. She picked up the first aid box, stood before the mirror and started applying plaster for her wound on her forehead. She saw herself in the mirror and cried by closing her mouth. She then controlled her tears and said to herself "This is the reality Anjali. Your love,your niranjan. You lost both. Be bold to face him. Let me see what he will do to me." She then got up and went down to the hall. There akila saw her and went near her. She asked "Is everything alright?". Anjali saw niranjan and then replied "hah saasubai I'm fine." Akila then smiled and went away, leaving niranjan and Anjali alone in the dining room.

Anjali went to the dining table and sat down to eat. "what are you doing?" niranjan asked. Anjali exclaimed "what?".niranjan said " who gave you permission to eat in this house?" Anjali was startled. "Don't I have even the rights to eat here? I am your wife and this is my house". Niranjan said "exactly this is your house and you are my wife. You cannot escape from me darling!" and left her alone there. She pushed the plate in anger and controlled her tears.

CHAPTER - 14

That night Anjali readied the bed to sleep. Niranjan came inside and pulled her by her hands. She shouted "leave my hands." But niranjan held her even more firmly and it pained for her. Her eyes were filled with tears. He said "I think you did not get my point." She looked at him sternly. He continued " my lovely wife, I married you not to give your rights as my wife, but to torture you and to give you all the pains for the mistakes you have done." Anjali became angry and relieved herself from him. She shouted "I did not do any mistake!". Niranjan saw her, lied on the bed and said "I did not give you the rights to lie on my bed. This is my room." Anjali looked at him dejected and asked" then where will I sleep?". Niranjan by the time put earphones on his ears and went to sleep. Anjali saw him with anger and stormed outside the room.

She slept inside the kitchen on the floor, so that no one would notice her there at night. She spread the blanket and rested her head on the pillow. Before she coulddo anything, her mind wandered to the lovely moments she had with him. Tears trickled down her face and she struggled to sleep. On the other side, niranjan was also unable to sleep. He rolled over and over but he could not sleep. His heart was pricking. He then got up and took the glass to drink water, but it was empty. So he went down to the kitchen to take some water. There he saw Anjali sleeping on the floor. He went near her and saw her face. It was full of worries, he could see. Even, a pinch of love stood out in his eyes for her. He slowly tucked in her hair which was flowing at her ear end and went to caress her hair, but stopped and went out of the kitchen.

Next day morning, Anjali was getting ready to go to office. Niranjan woke up from his sleep and turned over on is bed. He saw Anjali standing there looking at the mirror and combing her hair. He saw her unblinkingly without any expression. She slowly turned her face towards him and she too saw him with a worried expression. He then got up and went inside the bathroom. Anjali sighed and went down. Akila saw her going and asked "Anjali, are you going somewhere?". Anjali said "hah, saasubai,I'm going to office." Akila said "okay, but come soon as we have a puja this evening at our home." Before Anjali could reply, niranjan came there and said "don't worry aai, I'm there with Anjali right. I'll never make her get home late."Anjali looked at him sternly. Akila smiled and said "Yes yes I know. It's good to see you both together. Let you both always be together and happy." Anjali smiled at her mother in law fakely and went out. Niranjan followed her. Before Anjali could step out of the house, she was pulled by niranjan towards him. She almost fell on him and struggled to get away from him. But niranjan was holding her and said "You are coming to office right. Then why don't we both go in my car my lovely wife." Anjali replied, "I don't like to come with you." niranjan looked at her eyes directly and said in a sharp tone"I'm not asking you to come with me; I'm ordering you to come with me". Anjali controlled her anger, released herself from him and sat inside the car. He then drove the car to the office.

Inside the car, Anjali switched on the FM and listened to music. She increased the volume as her favourite song was playing. It was " iss pyaar ko kya naam doon" niranjan's face turned red as he thought about kavita singing this song for him and he turned the speaker off. Anjali looked at him stunned and switched on the FM. He again switched it off. Anjali got irritated and said what is your problem?'. Niranjan stopped the car so fast and it was about to crash. Anjali was shocked and he opened her door and led her out of the car in the middle road. "I do not want to encounter my worst memories again, even in a simple thing. Understood?" he shouted. Anjali looked at him, utterly shocked and at the same time confused. He then realized that he was shouting in the middle road and started the car, drove to office, leaving Anjali alone in the road.

That evening Anjali returned to home alone. Akila saw her coming and asked "have you come. Where is niranjan?". Anjali looked at her with surprise and said "he is here right?". Vinayak came there and said "no veini. Dada is not at home. We thought that he was with you in the office. Anjali became shocked and said "No. he did not come to office today, so I thought he returned to home." Akila said "what are you saying Anjali? You both left the home together for the office right.Then how come you do not know where he is?". Anjali asked her to calm down and called niranjan's phone. But he did not pick up the phone. She tried again and again. But there was no response. By the time, guests started arriving one by one for the puja. Anjali said quickly, "saasubai, I know where he is, before the puja starts, I'll be here with him." and she left the home. Akila and vinayak sighed and then they welcomed the guests.

Anjali travelled in auto and asked the auto driver to go fast. She again tried calling niranjan, but her call was cut again and again. She dropped from the auto at the same hill top where niranjan brought her. She thought as he brought her here for two times, maybe he would be here. But he was found to be nowhere at the hill. Fear started creeping upon her. Her eyes started brimming with tears. She shouted out her lungs " niranjan...", then she ran to search him. He was there, at the other side of the hill top.Anjali stopped and went near him. His shoulders were shaking. She touched him by the shoulder and he turned. His eyes were red blood and he was crying. Anjali became shocked and asked with concern " niranjan what happened? Why are you crying? Is everything fine". He looked at her and tightly hugged her. Anjali felt as if her soul joined her body, when he hugged her. He hugged her and cried. Anjali hugged him back. He cried and said "why this is happening with me?why?what wrong did I do?". She tried to console him " shh.. shh...". Niranjan continued with broken voice " I loved her so much, more than anything in this world and she has punished me for that why?" he cried a lot. Anjali was caressing him. He relieved her from him and held her face. "Will, you also leave me like her? You are my life now. If you also leave me, then dying is the only option I have." He asked Anjali. Anjali closed his mouth and said with tears running down her face "I will never leave you. I will always be with you niranjan." Niranjan smiled with tears andthen hugged Anjali again.

CHAPTER - 15

Vinayak and akila settled the guests and called Anjali, as they were worried. " aayi, it looks as if veini is also in some problem. Let me go and see." Vinayak said to akila and started to leave but stopped as Anjali entered the house with niranjan. Akila felt happy seeing them and asked Anjali to get ready for the puja as all the guests came. Anjali nodded her head and took niranjan to the room. Then the puja started and pnadit ji asked for Anjali and niranjan. Akila said that she would see and turned, and by the time niranjan came there with Anjali. They both were holding hands. All the guests crowded near Anjali, niranjan and congratulated them for their married life. Anjali was wearing a cream with red coloured silk saree and niranjan was wearing a kurta. They both went inside the temple in their house and started doing the puja.pandit ji asked Anjali to hold niranjan's hand as they have to do the aarti. Anjali looked at niranjan and hesitated. Niranjan took her hand himself and Anjali felt very happy. They did the aarti together and then he applied sindhoor on her forehead. Then all prayed and the puja ended successfully.

Niranjan retired to his room as soon as the puja ended. Anjali was down, speaking with all the guests. Akila came there and asked Anjali to come and have food. Anjali replied "no, saasubai. He has not had food till now. First I will give it to him then I will eat." Akila blessed her and went. Anjali took the food plate and went to his room. There she saw him sleeping on the bed. She kept the food plate on the table and switched off the TV. She then went near niranjan and adjusted his blanket. She looked at his face which was filled with pains and also with love for her. She slowly moved her hands and caressed his hair, then his cheeks. After that she thought not to disturb him and started to leave, but her bangles got struck to niranjan's kurta's button and she fell on him. He woke up and saw her face which was so close to his. She looked at his eyes and they both had an eye lock. Niranjan slowly moved his hand to place her fallen hair strand and stuck it at her ear. She closed her eyes while he did it. Then niranjan again looked at her eyes and she cut off the eye lock and struggled to pull away her bangle from his button.

He took it off and she adjusted her bangles. Then Anjali took the food plate and asked him to have food. He denied and said "I do not wish to have food." Anjali asked "why?" He looked at her and said "I do not wish to give you the reason for that. And by the way whatever happened today between us. It, it is just something crazy." Anjali looked at him sternly. He continued "Do not get overwhelmed about that and waste your time in having trust on me. Got it?" Anjali was just seeing him. He again asked "what? Do you get it?". Anjali let out a huge breath and quickly said "Yes yes I get it. Now you eat this." Niranjan got confused and was trying to move away the plate. Anjali said "arey. I know you are very hungry and please do not be stubborn and now eat, come on."He moved away his face. She then took the spoon and she tried to feed him herself. Niranjan denied it. Anjali then asked him "have you seen marati plays?" "Why", he asked her. She said "In a play, there will be a magic maid, she would be invisible and she will feed the stubborn baby, by being invisible." So, now I am that maid and I am invisible for your eyes. So, now I am taking the spoon and 1, 2, 3 she swirled the spoon and inserted it in his mouth. "that's all the baby ate." Anjali exclaimed and smiled. Niranjan also smiled at this silly talk of hers and looked at her. She then gave the plate to him and left the room, feeling both happy and sad.

Next day morning niranjan got ready for the office and searched for Anjali in his room. But she was not there. Then he went down and while turning at the corner, Anjali also came there and they both dashed each other. She said "Sorry, sorry". He asked her" don't you see and walk? Anyways why are you not yet ready to go to office. Come soon." Anjali replied " saasubai wants me here to help her in cleaning the house. So, I am not coming to office today." Niranjan ordered her to come. Anjali became angry and said "It is my wish to come and not come to the office. You should not force me. Today I am not coming that's it". She said and went away.

Niranjan was inside his cabin and looked at anjali's empty chair there. He sighed and said to himself "why do I miss her so much. I do not even love her. Till my death, I will only love kavita." But his heart did not resist and he took the phone and called Anjali. Anjali was busy in cleaning his room and before she could look at the phone and attend the call, she was called by akila and she went away without attending it. Niranjan got angry and said "See, I called her concerned but she is cutting my call due to her ego." He switched off his phone. Anjali came back to the room and resumed her cleaning work. She opened the cupboard and cleaned it. While cleaning, a diary and a card fell down. She picked it up and saw a photo inside the card. There was a lady in it. She looked beautiful. Anjali saw the photo and then opened the diary. It was written on the first page "My story begins here. I am niranjan agnihotri and I am studying at Mumbai University." It went on. Anjali understood that it was niranjan's personal diary and settled comfortably on the bed and read it." My first love was a beautiful lady, named kavita. She was my colleague and we loved each other for more than one year. Kavita was everything to me and we both spent many beautiful times with each other. We decided to get married, but a wave came in the form of kavita's mother and destroyed our love. Her mother called me to her home and spoke ill about me and my lifestyle. She said that I was a middle class man and not worth to marry her daughter. She spoke many ill things about me and my family. I adjusted all those for kavita's sake. But one day, kavita herself spoke ill about me and my love for her. She said that I did not have money to save her and my family. She said that she loved me hoping that I would give her all sorts of comforts, but as I was a middle class and zero fellow, she refused to accept me. She declared that her love for me was fake in the hill top, where we used to spend some romantic moments. Then I heard that she married a rich man named shiva kapoor. My heart broke at her decision and then I vowed myself to become a very big businessman and a very big rich person." Anjali read the diary fully and thought about niranjan saying about kavita to her. She closed her mouth and cried for him. She realized the pain he must have gone, to get rejected by his lover kavita. She then wiped her tears and vowed "I promise you niranjan. I will give you all the love and the happiness you need at the most. I will fix your broken heart with my love for you. I will."

CHAPTER - 16

It got late in the evening and niranjan did not return home. Anjali became worried and called him, but his phone was switched off. She went outside and stood near the gate, waited for him. After 10 mins, his fortune car came and he stopped it. Anjali let out a huge breath and went near the car. But niranjan stumbled while he came out of the car. Anjali held him and understood that he was drunk. She put his hand around her shoulder and helped him in getting inside the house. While coming niranjan was continuously mumbling, "what wrong did I do? I loved her so much. Is that a wrong thing?". Anjali thought that he was referring to kavita. She took him inside their room and made him lie on the bed. He was still mumbling. She took his shoes off and also his coat and tie. Then she released one button of his shirt and adjusted the pillow for him. Anjali then started to leave but was held by niranjan. He held her hand and said "kavita don't go. Please kavita, kavita!" anjali's eyes brimmed with tears and she sat near him on the bed. She held his hand tightly and caressed his hair. He then slept.

It was morning and to niranjan's surprise, Anjali was leaning on him and sleeping. He looked at her and saw his shoes, tie and coat on the couch. He understood that Anjali removed all these and made him sleep, as he was drunk yesterday. He looked at her and went to caress her hair, but stopped. Then Anjali herself woke up and asked him "Are you okay now?". Niranjan did not reply anything and went away. Anjali saw him going and said "I know very well that you are acting Mr. Niranjan agnihotri. I promise, I'll make you confess your love for me." She then smiled and went.

Anjali came to the office and saw niranjan sitting inside the cabin. She went inside and asked him "shall we go out?". He looked at her confused and said "what are you asking? Sit and do the work." Anjali sighed and replied "we can do the work at any time. Come please". Niranjan denied and she took his hands and went off with him. He moved near his car, but Anjali stopped him and said that they could walk. He nodded his head in irritation and went with her. She spoke continuously to him while walking on the road. He did not listen to her, but admired her without his own knowledge. Then she said "hah. We've come." Niranjan looked at the restaurant and saw her. She asked "what? I am hungry. Come soon" and went inside. Niranjan smiled a bit at her childlike behaviour and went along with her. They sat and she ordered food items. She said " mm... one vada pav; one plate noodles; one plate paani puri; one plate chilli paratha and one glass orange juice." She said and asked niranjan what he wants. Niranjan and the waiter both were startled. He asked "Anjali, did you order all these items only for you?" Anjali said "hah. Yes. Say soon what do you want." Niranjan said the waiter to bring that entire she asked and said that he will share it. The waiter sarcastically smiled and went. Then all the items came and Anjali gave half of the items to niranjan, as it was all his favourites. He looked at her and ate silently. Anjali ate only one plate vada pav and drank juice. Niranjan asked her to share, but she refused and asked him to eat fully. She admired him while he ate and became emotional. Then niranjan paid the bill and they came out. Anjali asked while returning "did you eat, wholeheartedly today? Niranjan asked her why. She said "I've seen you eating hurriedly, because of some work. I wanted you to spend your, even small small moments happily. So, today I brought you here and made you have your fav foods with happiness. Did you feel happy?" she asked him. niranjan stopped there and looked at her eyes. She looked at him blankly. He then suddenly held her palm and said "Thank you!" and then went. She smiled with tears and joined him in returning back to office.

They both returned home, late at night. There to niranjan and anjali's shock, kavita was sitting. Anjali showed as if she doesn't know kavita. Niranjan was utterly shocked and was confused. Tears ran down his face when he saw kavita. He uttered " kavita!". She smiled and came near him. Anjali looked at the both with a worried expression. Akila came there and said to niranjan that kavita was waiting for more than 3 hours for him. niranjan still did not react as he was shocked to see her. Anjali went and touched his shoulder, then he regained consciousness and stammered "please sit down kavita." kavita smiled and congratulated Anjali and niranjan for their married life. Niranjan and Anjali both smiled a bit. Kavita then said "um... niranjan I wish to speak with you alone for few minutes." Niranjan nodded his head and looked at Anjali. Anjali saw him and went to their room. Niranjan took kavita to the terrace. There she became teary eyed and hugged niranjan. Niranjan did not know what to do. He did not hug her back; he just pushed her off and said "what are you doing? I'm married." Just then Anjali came there and sawkavita talking with him. Kavita exclaimed with tears "I know but I could not resist. The life that I had to live, is in some other woman's hands now. I should be your wife, but now Anjali has become your wife. I destroyed my own life, it's all because of me." Anjali's eyes became red blood on hearing this statement of hers. Niranjan replied "what are you saying? you are married to shiva kapoor right?" Anjali was listening to all this. Kavita smiled and said "it was all a lie, I'm not married to anyone!". Niranjan was shocked to the core and Anjali also. She continued "my mother cooked up this story to you, to leave me. And I also supported her because my brother and she blackmailed me to not marry you. But now after all these years, I was waiting for you to return. I had hoped that our love would win. And now it all has become ashes. Anyways I just wanted to say that I still love you." Niranjan listened to all this with a shock and fell to his knees. Anjali was silently crying and went away fast from there.

After kavita went, niranjan came to his room and found Anjali sitting down with a worried expression. She saw him and stood up. He went near her and asked "what happened?" Anjali said "I know who she is. She is your lover right? And you still love her. You are going to break up with me, with your own wife, after all these years for your lover." Niranjan tried to explain it to her, but she did not let him speak at all. She continued "I cannot understand at all. Is your love for me a fake one niranjan? I love you with all my heart, and don't you love me like that? Okay, if I'm your problem I'll not come between you both." Anjali said with tears and ran away from the room with a broken heart. Niranjan stood there speechless and sighed with tears in his eyes.
