Chapter 5B

He woke early next morning to see Ruhi sleeping peacefully for once. He thought back to when he saw her in Ishita's arms. She was so happy and cheerful around her. She didn't make any fuss and was relaxed when Ishita took care of her. He ran his hand over her head and held her tiny hands in his free hand.

He thought back to his confusion last night. He knew that he was not being fair to her. He had set out to find a mother for Ruhi and he did. There was no doubt she was perfect for Ruhi and would love her like her own mother would have. But then there it was again, something that stopped him every time, and the worst part was he didn't know what it was that kept him from calling her and saying yes.

Maybe it was that he had started expecting more...more for himself, maybe he also was starting to want love. Nonsense! He thought to himself. It wasn't that he wanted more, it was probably that he missed his wife, after all it hadn't been long since she had left their lives and someone else had come wanting to take her place. Yes that was probably why...

He was brought out of his though as Ruhi moved her hand that were in his slightly. He continued to hold her hands and patted her head gently.

"This is about you, it always was. It's not about what I need, it's what's best for you. Now I know what to do. I should have known way back."

He kissed her forehead and got out of bed and putting pillows around her. He called into his office letting his manager know he would be working from home. Then he walked up to the picture of his wife hanging the wall.

"I am giving someone else the place of Ruhi's mom, not the place in my heart. No one can take that place ever..." he said as if trying to tell himself that there will be no one who he will be able to love and he should forget about getting love in his life.

He ran his hand over her picture and took a deep breath before he reached over to his phone and sent her a text. Then he went to get ready hoping to receive her reply by the time he got all dressed.

She woke up as she heard Mihika's yelling. She covered her face with the blanket only to have it pulled off by Mihika who was running around trying to find her important research paper.

She got up to help her look for it and checked her desk. She picked up all the books and magazines looking underneath when she saw a piece of paper sitting out of a magazine. She looked at the magazine and he was on the front cover.

Seeing him, she instinctively smiled and picked it up admiring the handsome man on the cover. He was wearing a black and white three piece tux, something she had never seen him in. She had only seen him in casuals and at work, he just wore a plain formal shirt with formal pants. She liked this Raman Bhalla a little more when it came to looks. The suit, tie, the Rolex watch, and the sleek hair with a serious clean shaven face making his strong jawline and facial features stick out was attractive, no doubt about it. As she stared at the cover, Mihika came from behind and snatched the magazine.

"Thank you so much Akka! I love you!"

She ran off as Ishita yelled from behind... "Arre leave the magazine!"

Mihika throw the magazine on the bed as Ishita picked it up and started to read his interview. He sounded like a strong and confidence personality who was all about business & numbers unlike what he actually was in real life. One statement of his caught her eye. He was asked about a link up rumor and instead of denying and clarifying, all he said was...

"It's called my personal life for a reason, it's only for me and people close to me to know about."

What type of man was he? She knew he had a wife who he clearly loved a lot and yet he didn't deny anything or accept it. It was all so mysterious, just like him...

"I wonder if God himself knows what Raman Kumar Bhalla actually is."

As she finished her words, her phone beeped and she looked over to see a text from him. She grabbed her phone like a small child and excitedly opened it up. But then...

Ishita, what is wrong with you? Remember he is your boss and possible the father of your child. Nothing more, so stop being excited. If you are think he cares for you for another reason besides his daughter, you are wrong. Remember it is only for the baby and not you. Some expecting so much. Love and things related to it isn't for people like you and that was proven long ago. She seriously thought to herself. She brushed away her thoughts and looked at his text.

"I need to meet you ASAP. When are you free?"

Although he wasn't directly on the phone with her, the tone of the text seemed urgent and serious.

What happened? What was so important that he texted her this early? Was Ruhi-? No Ishita calm down, just stay calm. What if he just wants to meet up or maybe it was work related after all she was joining in 2 days. That's probably it! It was all okay and she relaxed and texted him back.

"Free until 4. Where do you want to meet?"

"Cafe? Near your house? In an hour?" his reply came back instantly.

"See you then...are you bringing Ruhi?" she asked hopefully

"We will be waiting for you."

Cafe

She rushed in to find him waiting patiently in a corner table away from everyone else. Ruhi was sitting on his lap and he was busy on his phone as she was with her toy. Ruhi was looking around and spotted Ishita and smiled. She walked over to the two...

"Hello baby!"

He looked up at completely shocked and caught off-guard. For a second, he thought she was talking to him and then he realized he was for Ruhi. He smiled as she sat across the table not before taking Ruhi into her arms. She was dressed in a yellow kurti and white leggings which complimented her complexion and make up free face perfectly. For the first time he saw her with her hair tied back into a loose bun. Her beauty was so natural and rare, and her personality was just the same. She brought him out of his trance...

"So...what's the urgent matter?" her playful smile turning serious.

"Our wedding." He replied back casual and in a dead-pan voice.

She was taken aback would be an understatement. Just 2 days ago, he had told her how unsure he was about everything and now a sudden decision? Maybe she just didn't hear him right?

"What?"

"I want you to be Ruhi's mother and in return I will be the father of your child. Like you had said."

"Umm are you sure? Take your time because you seemed so confused about this before."

"That's because I wasn't sure about you being able to handle Ruhi, but it took me 2 days to see how much you two are attached. I see my daughter smile and giggle around you. You make her happy, which isn't something I myself couldn't do. If you could do something her own father couldn't, then clearly Ruhi loves you. And this is all about the children right?"

"You're right, but I want ask you one last time...are you sure?"

"100%."

She looked at him seriously and then looked over at Ruhi before looking at him again. He was waiting for her to say something before she took a deep breath and said...

"But I am not sure I can say yes..."

shit!!! I missed the 2 updates but glad that I catches them and abled to read it. happy that finally they decided to got married. I know their marriage will take long time to start their romance and we all will seriously wait it. plz update soon
