Hey everyone! So it's hailing out here in May 😕(happens only where I live!) And since there is thunder and hail outside, what better than to write an update! Thank you all for the 40+ likes on the last part and the wonderful comments you all have been giving! I am speechless at how much you all are liking the story so much! It's also making me nervous whether I can live up to the exceptions of everyone. Anyways enough rambling and here is the update...

Chapter 6

She looked at him closely before she had said her decision. He was avoiding looking at in her in the eyes. His voice carried no emotion. She didn't see Raman in him at all. He was the man she had been interviewed by. The one who was only interested in work, and nothing else. It was obvious to her he wasn't fully ready to get married and was trying so hard to hold on to something inside him. Something that was bothering him a lot and it was visible through his body language. He wasn't happy with his own decision. And she wanted to know why and so she had refused.

"Why? Did I do something wrong?" he asked curiously. She had been the one who suggested this and was ready for it until yesterday, then what changed overnight?

"Who are you Mr. Bhalla?"

"What do you mean?" he asked confused.

"You're so different from the person I was with yesterday. Yesterday and every other time I have met you, you are sweet and caring. Today you sound the Raman Bhalla who gives interviews that are devoid of any emotion. What is the real you and honestly tell me what the real you wants?"

"Life isn't black and white, it's grey. I am not just Raman the business man and I am not completely Raman the family man. I am both."

"But right now I see the business man trying to make a decision for the family. Why? Why aren't you following your heart? It seems like you are looking at the profits and losses of this deal that is called marriage. And since it seems like a profit you are saying yes." She tried to instigate him into telling what was going on.

"Seriously I don't understand you. I mean you are playing with your daughter's future and you look at it like a loss or profit."

"NO! I am not playing with her future, I am trying to fix it. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't have ever said yes since..."

He stopped right there as he realized what he was saying. He was hurting her in his anger and wave of emotions. Why couldn't he just control his feelings?

"I am so sorry! I didn't mean it like that...I don't know what's wrong with me today! I can't think or do anything right!

She looked at him unaffected by his words knowing it was everything he held inside of him coming out as anger due to her instigation. She asked him calmly...

"What happened? What are you making things difficult for yourself and me? Simply tell me why you can't accept this marriage fully and don't deny it because I know for a fact you don't to do this with your heart."

"It's not easy as it seems. I...I just want Ruhi to be happy that's why I accepted this. You have always been honest with me, so I will be as well. The only reason that stopped me from saying yes to this is because I..."

"What? Tell me...please?"

"I...I just lost my wife 3 months back...It's hard to get married again even if it is just for Ruhi. It's hardly been any time and I have barely started to get used to living without her. By doing this, I feel like I am demeaning her and her love... But I also don't want to be unfair and not let you and Ruhi be together because of something I am not able to get over. I don't know what to do. I just don't."

She saw him struggling to hold back his tears and so held his hand reassuringly. And then he couldn't hold it back anymore. Tears made way down his face as he lightly sobbed trying to not to get anyone else's attention. She felt hurt seeing him cry and couldn't even imagine what he had been going through. No wonder he could accept her, he missed his wife and this marriage meant it would be like giving her place away.

"I am so sorry. I didn't mean to...I... Sorry!"

She handed him a glass of water. As he drank the water, he looked at Ruhi and Ishita who had both stopped smiling and were looking at him cry sad themselves. So he calmed down and wiped off his tears.

"It's fine. I am okay. I shouldn't have said all this anyways."

"No it's not. You're not okay. Now I feel like I am forcing you. And I don't want you to suffer and feel guilty because of me."

"If I say no I will feel just the same. I will feel like I let down Ruhi and couldn't give the chance you deserved. I am going to face the same thing no matter what I choose. So I made my decision thinking this would be better since the two of you will at least be happy."

"Then what about you?"

"I will be okay."

"How?"

"I will, I don't know how but I will. And honestly I already feel better after talking."

"Talking always helps, so I am always here to listen. And Mr. Bhalla I know for you, you're choosing the lesser of two evils right now, and I am sorry for putting you into this."

"I put myself into this, so don't feel bad at all. But will you also agree now please?"

"I will, only if you stop feeling so bad. Can I tell you something?"

He nodded his head and she smiled and said...

"I didn't know your wife or know you until a few days back, but I do know one thing. You love her a lot and trust me you aren't demeaning her in any way. She was a very lucky woman, that you still love her so much. She would be proud of you and your love for Ruhi and her. I know I would be if I had someone who loved like this."

"Thank you and I promise, for at least you and Ruhi, I will try to accept all this. It will take time, but I will genuinely try."

"Thank you and whatever I said to you before was just so you would let me know what is going on inside of you. I am sorry for it, but you seemed like you were on a breaking point and I wanted you to let it out. I know you would never risk Ruhi's future for anything."

"So..."

"So marriage fixed?"

"It is! And I actually mean that this time!"

"So do I!"

Ruhi who had been looking back and forth between the two, as if she understood what they were saying now squealed and smiled as them. They both smiled at each other unaware they had been holding onto each other's hands this whole time...

Prabh hope everything ok with you and your family. Hailstorm is terrible plus strong wind more worse.thanks for bonus update we got 2 parts today. I like this part look like Ishu can read his mind and emotion so well. Did she plan to control him in future too. What happen to Raman wife she died or divorce bumpy seem like she die. I think Raman is scare that he will fall for Ishu and betray his wife. So marriage will happen next part I guess but if Raman family know Ishu pregnant are they will accept her. The story are more interesting day by day. Please continue update. Thank you.👍🏼👍🏼
