ANKIT WANTS TO BUY A HOUSE FOR HIS PARENTS LIVING IN AN ASHRAM

Ankit Arora may have played a prince in both his TV shows Ramayan (he played Lakshman) and Siddharth Kumar Tewary's ongoing Razia Sultan (as Ruknuddin Firuz), but his real life hasn't been a bed of roses. Homeless and helpless, the actor's parents have been living in an ashram in Haryana for the past 10 years. He says, "In 2005, we lost our house in Nainital and my parents moved to an ashram. I am their only child and though they are happy to see my progress as an actor, I know that they miss their home. Now, my biggest dream is to buy back that house for them."

Struggle began very early for Ankit. "I came to Mumbai in search of work at an early age.However, I had to return home after my father's business suffered huge losses. At that time, everyone -extended family and close associates -deserted us. I even sold newspapers in Agra for a living," he recalls.

However, he decided to try his luck in acting for the second time and this time around, luck favoured him. "After my first show, I went to Nainital and lived like a star in a good hotel for two days. I want to give my parents too every luxury possible.They've suffered enough. I want to compensate for it," he sums up.
