In response to some comments in my Ankita - no longer a fan..thread:

Yes I can tell by looking at a person what their personality is. You ever hear the term "Actions SPEAK louder than words"? Well maybe not..judging by your comment

Secondly, Indian Idol is about the person..their actions, words, the way they present themselves. So for the misguided individual who said something about its their wish..well nooo..you are on public TV...its not "their" wish. We are voting on the individuals singing AND personality. This is more than a singing competition..and obv you dont get that.

Thats my 2 cents.

I hope Amit or Emon wins.

no you really can't...what you watch about 2 hours of her on TV the whole week and now you know her personality... 😕

ever heard the comment "don't judge a book by it's cover"

all of these people are on TV....they are going to be presenting themselves a little bit differently that they really are

I agree however that it's a personality contest but ironically, no one really knows what they are like...they just look at the person and if they are good-looking or smiling or whatever, they vote for them (and it's not just II, any kind of show) People just assume, based on looks, how someone is...

(besides these types of shows, it applies to real life as well - have you heard about how good looking people are more likely to get a job compared to someone who might not be as good looking...it's all inherent though, you can't change it unless you actually meet and find out for yourself)

Excuse me but I have been watching her for the past few months ..ever since it first started

Quite a few people have noticed change in her personality so this is not just my opinion. Unless we are all blind or something.

I dont want to know about her "off screen" personality because only her close family will know of it. However, she is presenting herself a certain way..giving out a vibe that is being picked up..Most TV personalities are judged by their cover ..which is why alot of them have consultants who advise them of how to hide their "real" selves.

Secondly, I dunno about the looks thing because I havent judged anyone by their "beauty" or "smiles". I thot Sumit sucked, PArleen sucked ..and Smita was great except she lost her confidence at some pt due to the focus on her looks.

As far as meeting the contestants..sorry how many people you know that are gonna fly half away around the world to get an "up close and personal" look...even then you think you can become their best friend cus that is the only person who really see's a person for who they are.

So point.. Facades can be put up anywhere/in person or on TV. Most people dont have the chance to fly around the world to meet these people..hence the TV is the only medium by which we can get to "know" these individuals.
