I don't think out of all the new comers female and male has there been so much hype.

Very Large fan base.

Commercial films and Art house films so appealing to a wider group of people in the movie world

Many adverts, magazine covers.

She has kept this momentum running strong

Really does make you wonder who is her competitor or is she the last.

I would say Katrina who is a star in her own right but if she doesn't show her acting flair in some role she will forever be the musician who auto tunes, lip syncs and doesn't write their own songs.

Deepika is having a dream run..n she deserves it...but she certainly isn't gonna be the last big female superstar...it's just a matter of time until the next new beautiful face enters n takes bollywood by storm.Bollywood audience seem to love their heroes to be the same for 25years but don't mind new heroines every few years😆

These days only DP is number 1 ...But I don't see a new female superstar after deepu anytime soon coz the younger lot of actresses in BW are not good enough , They lack the spark and charisma

technically thats not true about the male actors either

other than Ajay, Akshay, Salman, Amir, SRK (5) who can still give hits the rest have all left or their movies flop because lack of intrestest.

most male actors are relatively new compared to those uncle ji's

Even if you go far back as actors who started with Hrithik they still havent been in the industry for 25 years.

Actually that is limited to ash

Baring hddcs and devas..she had nothing spectacular for the first 7,8 years of her career

Deepika was a star from oso (so thanks farah)

Cocktail gave her the nudge (so thanks homi)

CE helped further (so thanks rohit)

RL proved the cherry on cake (so thanks bhansali)

Oh common..SLB in a way should to thankful to Deepika for acting in RL 😆 I don think much about Deepika as an actress but she was already a huge star thanks to YJHD & CE..If anything, SLB sucks as a director & was delivering flops before RL..So yeah, while RL might have cemented her position, it din really make her a superstar per se..Cos she already was on top that year 😆
