Jagga Jasoos To Re-Shoot
Anurag Basu is known to re-shoot his scenes unless he is satisfied with them but it seems like his next Jagga Jasoos is being shot for a very long time. The film went on the floors in 2013 end but still hasn't been completed. The film was supposed to release on May 29 and then got pushed for an August 2015 release. But once again the release has got pushed further to November 27, 2015.
But it seems a lot of work is still pending and many portions from the film will be re-shot during June-July of this year. A source close to the film reveals, "There are some scenes which Anurag and Ranbir thought could have been better and decided to re-shoot them in June-July, post which the final post production of the film will start."
Well, we trust Basu and his movies and the film may be taking time to release but whenever it will be out we're very sure that it would be a treat for cinema lovers.
Bhushan Patel's Next
Bhushan Patel's last film Alone might not have worked well at the box office but its producers Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak of Panaroma Studios seem to have high hopes of him and have signed the director for another film. This time, it's not horror, it's a thriller. And if all goes well the director is in talks with some big actors. It is also being said that the producers are eyeing Karan Singh Grover to play the lead. A source close to the film divulged, "While shooting Alone, Bhushan had come out with an idea which he shared with his producers and they loved it. Currently they are working on it. But nothing can be said about the casting as once the script is completed they will take a call on it."
When contacted Abhishek Pathak confirmed, "Yes, we are working on the script at the moment."
Now Bipasha Basu Opts Out?
Fashion designer Vikram Phadnis announced his directorial debut plans with a film called Nia with Bipasha Basu and Rana Dagabutti in the lead. But seems like his dream will get shattered soon. As first Rana Dagabutti opted out of the film, then the producers didn't like the climax so she was asked to re-write a whole new climax. And then we hear that lead actress Basu is also thinking of stepping down from the project after Dagabutti walked out. A source close to the film asserts, "Initially she had allotted her dates from May which was then shifted to October but now it seems it has got pushed to next year because of which she is planning to opt out of the film and choose something else."
Nimrat Kaur Bombarded With Offers
Nimrat Kaur made her debut with The Lunchbox and soon she was flooded with offers. But the actress didn't jump to any films offered to her. She took her own time and selected Airlift with Akshay Kumar. And was seen in the Hollywood TV series Homeland. The actress reveals, "Post Homeland, there are many offers national and international. In fact, Homeland has opened many doors for me as many Indian filmmakers are offering me similar roles. But currently I am concentrating only on Airlift. But soon I will sign another film."
Shashanka Ghosh's Next
Anil Kapoor Productions' has announced a film which is an adaptation of Anuja Chauhan's Battle for Bittora and the film was supposed to start rolling this year. The production house had signed Shashanka Ghosh to direct the film featuring Sonam Kapoor in the lead. But seems like the film has been kept on the backburner as of now as a good script has not yet been cracked by the writers. And as a result Ghosh has started working on other scripts. Also Sonam Kapoor has Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Neerja Bhanot. So if anything materialises, the film will go on floors only next year.
The Lucky Date
Today everyone looks for that perfect weekend where their film can recover its money, there being only 52 weeks and most of the holidays are taken over by the biggies. But seems like this year one holiday was spared and that's - Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, which was not taken. But soon not one but four films were announced on the same date Rocky Handsome, Talwar, Singh Is Bling and now Wazir. Now let's see which film actually gets released on the given date.
Guess Who?
When you are successful, everyone around you wants to be close with you and when you are not everyone seems to part ways with you. But in our industry, it's also a blame game which goes on. This director-writer duo has been giving back-to-back blockbuster hits together. So much so that this writer was not able to take up any other project because the director always keeps the writer along during the shoot too. The director is known to makes changes on set too. But just after one dud, it seems like the director has started blaming the writer for the failure of his last films and has decided not to work with him in the future and has now roped in another writer.
Guess Who?
This film is in the making for a very long time. A lot has been spoken about the film, it's director, actor and production house. Initially it was supposed to be backed by another producer who backed out at the last moment and then the other production house stepped in without realising what budget they are putting in. Now that the film is made, it seems like no one is very happy about it, even the director himself. Reason: The film is on the verge of releasing and the song videos are getting edited at the last moment, the music of the film didn't turn out the way it was expected. And everyone in the production team is working round the clock to finish the editing of the film. We also hear the director has decided to stick to the earlier kind of cinema he made.
