CHAPTER 4 (A). IT'S ONLY THE BEGINNING!

When Khushi woke up in the morning the first thought that went through her mind was confusion. Yeh kamra toh humaara nahi hai! (This is not my room!) She looked around in panic and then as her eyes took in the surroundings they widened. This was not some unknown place! This was Laad Governor's room! As she continued to look around in panic, she did what any sane person who has been around ASR for so long would do. She opened her mouth and blurted out, "What the!"

It took a while for Khushi to remember how she came to be in Arnav's room. And once she remembered everything, her whole body slumped against the pillow and she looked around listlessly. What has happened to her life? How her life was earlier and how is it now? Her hand touched her cheek where she had been slapped the night before. Her whole family was angry at her; her old family and new family both. Defeated she looked at her hand, a hand which showed the letter A' to her. She closed her eyes as she realised that her fate had been decided by Devi Maiyya at the time of her sister's mehendi itself or maybe even before that. Devi Maiyya was trying to show her that she was supposed to be married to Laad Governor by printing his initial on her hand by mehendi. If only the marriage had not happened in such manner! If only it was a normal wedding. Suddenly she was assaulted by the image of her marrying Arnav in proper manner. Her father would have given her away and Anjali would have done the gathbandhan. Everyone would be happy as she got married to Arnav! And maybe! Maybe! It would have been a love marriage! Or even an arranged marriage! Anything but not what happened yesterday! Hey Devi Maiyya! Kaash kal jo hua woh ek sapna hota! (I wish what happened yesterday was a dream!) She opened her eyes with hope but sighed in disappointment as she realised that she was still seated in Arnav's room.

Khushi leaned on the pillows sadly but then she straightened up in determination. No! Nahi! Hum aise haar nahi maan sakte! Laad Governor se shaadi hogayi toh kya hua? Itna bhi kuch bura nahi hua hai! Zindagi itni bhi barbaad nahi hui hai! Amma aur Buaji naaraaz hai toh manaa lenge! Laad Governor ke ghar waalon ko bhi manaa lenge! Par aise niraash hoke nahi baithenge! (No! I won't accept defeat in such a manner! So I am married to Laad Governor. So what? The situation is not that bad! My life hasn't been destroyed that much! If Amma and Buaji are angry, I will coax them to forgive me! I will coax and win over Laad Governor's family too! But I won't sit defeated like this!) She stood up with determination and marched towards the door ready to take on the world only to stop as she realised that she was still dressed in yesterday's clothes. She sheepishly looked at her attire. Par pehle... Pehle nahaa lete hain! (First I will take bath!)

Khushi started removing her jewelry. As she removed them and kept it on the bed, she looked at them with sadness. Yesterday she had dressed up with only one occasion in her mind; her sister's wedding. And now she herself was married. She sighed in sadness and then shook of her thoughts. Nahi Khushi! Udaas nahi hote! Tu Khushi hai! Khush reh! (No Khushi! You are not supposed to be sad! You are Khushi! Be happy!) Smiling she headed towards the bathroom only to stop in her steps. She slapped her forehead. Arre! Lekin humaare paas toh naye kapde hi nahi! Hum bhi na! (But I don't have any new clothes at all! What a fool I am!) Huffing she turned towards the door, hoping to ask Anjali or Paayal for Saree.

As Khushi stepped out of her room, she crashed right into her sister. The moment her eyes fell on her sister, she smiled widely, "Arre Jiji! Good morning!" But her smile dimmed when her sister looked at her coldly. "Jiji?", Khushi whispered softly in anguish and Paayal turned her face away. Khushi looked down in tears. She knew that the anger will go away pretty soon but that did not make her feel hurt any less.

"Jiji! Suno na?", Khushi pleaded with a hopeful expression as she touched her sister's arm. Paayal pulled her arm away roughly, "Humein tumhaari koi baat nahi sunni! Aur naahi humein tumhaari shakal dekhni hai! Kal tumhaari ek harqat ne humein barbaadi ke kagaar pe laakar khada kar diya! Agar tumhaari is shaadi ki wajah se humaare Aakash ne humein chod diya hota toh? Phir kya karti tum? Bolo? Aur yeh bhi bataao ki hum kya karte? Khudgarz hona koi tumse seekhe Khushi! (I don't want to listen to a single word from you! And neither do I want to see your face! Yesterday your one action brought me to the brink of my destruction! If because of your marriage, Aakash had left me then? What would you have done then? Tell me? And also tell me what would I have done? How to be selfish, people should learn from you Khushi!)"

Khushi was aghast at the diatribe falling out of her sister's mouth. She closed her eyes as she remembered Arnav blackmailing her into marrying him by saying that he would call off Paayal and Aakash's marriage and her almost accepting it till she got the strength to rebel in front of Devi Maiyya. As Paayal stormed away, Khushi closed her eyes letting the tears filling her eyes flow down. Agar hum khudgarz hote Jiji toh aaj aap shaadi shuda nahi kehlaati! (If I was selfish, Jiji, then you would not have been called a married woman today!) Khushi sniffed and then wiping her eyes she decided to look for Arnavji. He would know what to do next! Even if he had no answers, atleast he could find her a saree or salwar kameez to wear!

Suddenly, a commotion erupted in the main hall making Khushi's eyes widen. Yeh aawaazein kaisi? She ran towards the hall and the moment she got down the stairs her eyes widened in shock. There stood Arnav and Anjali glaring at each other. Hey Devi Miayya! Khushi's hand pressed against her mouth in shock and suddenly she felt dread gather in her stomach. Something was going to happen, something very bad! She looked around to see everyone looking at the siblings in worry except Shyam. His eyes seemed to be focused on her and he had a smirk on his face. Looking away in disgust, her eyes reached Anjali and Arnav where the silence was once again broken.

"Humein kuch nahi sunna Chote! Tumne jo kal kiya woh galat kiya! Aur hum tumhein maaf nahi karenge! (I don't want to hear anything Chote! What you did yesterday was wrong! And I will not forgive you for this!)", Anjali shouted. Aakash and Paayal's eyes widened. Neither of them had seen meek and docile Anjali shout like this and they were taken aback by her words.

Arnav looked down with tear filled eyes and then he looked up again with anguish written on his face for quarrelling against the most important woman of his life, "Please Di! Forgive me! This wasn't some rash decision! Soch samajhke maine yeh shaadi ki! I had my reasons Di! Please!"

Anjali's eyes spat fire as she grabbed her brother's collar, "What reasons? Haan Chote? Bolo? What reasons? Hum bataate hain tumhaare reasons! Iss...", she pointed her finger at Khushi who looked at Anjali in shock, "Iss ladki ne tumhein behlaaya phuslaaya hai shaadi ke liye, right? She must have seduced you right?"

"DI!", Arnav roared just as Khushi's knees crumbled and she had to grab the stairs' railings to keep herself from falling. Is that what Anjali thought of her? She expected such accusations from Maamiji but not from Anjaliji. Hurt by Anjali's words, Khushi started to sob silently.

"Chillaayiye mat Chote!", Anjali shouted as she glared at her little brother. She stepped back with anger on her face and turned to Naaniji, "Dekha! Dekha aapne Naaniji! Chote humpe chilla rahe hain! Humpe! Jis insaan ne inhein bachpan se apni jaan se bhi jyaada pyaar kiya, apni palkon pe bhitaake rakha, yeh aaj uss insaan pe chilla rahe hain! Naaniji! Aaj sach mein humaare Chote paraaye hogaye!" (Did you see? Did you see Naaniji? Chote is shouting at me! AT ME! The one person who has loved him more than their own life from childhood, who kept him away from all pain and sorrows, he is shouting at that person! Naaniji! Today Chote truly stopped being mine!), she turned towards Arnav with anguish written on her face, "Aaj lagta hai humaari jagah Chote ne Khushi ko dedi! Haina Chote? (Today I feel like Chote has given my place in his life to Khushi! Right Chote?)"

Arnav looked at her with tear filled eyes. He pleaded with her, "Nahi Di! Please! Aisa kuch nahi hai! Aap meri Di ho aur Di rahogi! (Its nothing like that! You are my Di and you will remain my Di!) That will never change Di!"

"Achcha? (Oh Really?)", Anjali asked and Arnav nodded. She gave him a cold look, "Toh theek hai! Humein bataao ki tumne Khushi se jald baazi mein shaadi kyun ki! Bataao! (Fine! Then tell me why you eloped with Khushi! Tell me!)"

When Arnav remained silent, Anjali could not stop himself, "Hum bataate hain! Kuynki Khushi ne tumhein apne jaal mein phasaaya aur tumse shaadi kar li! (I will tell you! Because Khushi seduced you and then married you!)" Arnav looked up and shook his head vigorously but when he opened his mouth, Anjali spat, "Don't! Don't defend that cheap girl in front of me! Don't!" Her anger filled face suddenly turned sad, "Tum samajh kyun nahi rahe ho Chote? (Why aren't you understanding Chote?)" She turned towards Khushi and roared, "Yeh sab iski chaal hai! Sab chaal hai! (Its all her plan! All her plan!)" She turned towards Arnav and started speaking frantically with alarm on her face, "Tum dekh nahi rahe ho Chote! Lekin hum dekh rahe hain! Yaad hai aapko yeh aapse jab pehli baar mili thi, kaise aapke baahon mein aake giri thi? Yaad hai aapko? (You aren't seeing Chote! But I am seeing it clearly! You remember the first time you met her, how she had fallen into your arms? Do you remember?)"

Khushi, who was standing by the stairs, looked at Arnav just as Arnav turned to look at her and suddenly they were transported back to the night. Arnav remembered as a scared Khushi walked on the ramp towards the crowd and photographers shivering and trembling. Khushi remembered the glare Arnav bestowed on her as she walked down the ramp. She turned, her leg slipped on her duppatta and she fell, right into his arms. He remembered the dread in her eyes, the same eyes that captured his attention from that moment.

Arnav was grabbed by his collar and was made to turn breaking the eye lock and he came back to the present and looked right into his sister's eyes. Khushi looked down, trembling from the emotions generated by the memories of the past.

Anjali continued to speak, "Yaad aaya Chote? Yaad aaya tumhein tumhaari aur iss ladki ki pehli mulaqat? Sach toh yeh hai ki woh sab ek naatak tha! (You remembered Chote? You remembered you meeting this girl for first time? The truth is that everything was planned!)" Arnav frowned confusedly and Anjali became more frantic in her attempt to explain things to Arnav, "Haan Chote! Sab naatak tha! Woh koi galti se wahaan nahi aayi thi! Sab iski sochi samjhi chaal thi, tumhein fasaane ke liye! Tum jo iske baare mein pehle samjhe the na woh bilkul sahi tha! Yeh ek dhokebaaz hai!... (Yes Chote! Everything was planned! She didn't come there by mistake! Everything was a planned strategy, to trap you! What you thought about her in earlier days was right! She is a fraud... )"

Arnav cut her off with sadness etched on his face, "Di! Yeh sab aap kya bol rahi ho? (Di! What are you saying?)"

"Chote! Tum kuch nahi jaante! Tum bahut bhole ho! Yeh ladki tumse mili tumhein fasaane ke iraade se! Warna yeh Dilli kyun aati? Haan! Bolo! Sirf tumhein fasaane ke liye! Yahi tha iska iraada! Aur kuch nahi! Samajh rahe ho Chote? Yeh sab naatak tha! Lucknow mein fashion show mein mili, phir tumhaare peeche woh Dilli aayi, humaare ghar mein jagah banaayi, humaare Dil mein jagah banaayi aur aaj tumhein bhi jeet liya! Iska plan yahi hai ki woh iss ghar pe raaj kare! Iss ghar ki rani bane! Isliye woh yeh sab khel khel rahi hai Chote, tum samajh kyun nahi rahe ho..."

"(Chote! You don't know! You are very nave! This girl met you with the aim to trap you! Or else why would she come to Dilli? Yes! Tell me! Just to trap you! That's what her plan was! Nothing else! You understand Chote? Everything was a drama! In Lucknow she met you in fashion show, then she followed you to Dilli, made her place in our house, made her place in our hearts and today she has won you over! This is her plan; to rule this house! To be the queen of this house! That's why she is playing these games Chote, why aren't you understanding...)"

"Bas karo Di! Bas karo!", Arnav pleaded, "Aur kitne galat ilzaam lagaaogi Khushi pe? (How many wrong allegations will you throw on Khushi?)", Arnav was confused. Why was his sister behaving like this? Why? His sister always saw good in people, even in selfish person like Maami, then why was she so ready to think bad of Khushi? Arnav could not understand. And that's when his eyes fell on his sister's husband; the husband who was smirking at him and Arnav realised that it was Shyam's game. Shyam had brainwashed his sister.

"Achcha toh hum ilzaam laga rahe hain? Toh theek hai! Aap baaton se kuch nahi samjhenge! Lagta hai aapko kisi doosre tareeke se samjhaana padega! (Oh, so I am throwing allegations? Fine! You won't understand this way! I will have to make you understand in another way!)", Anjali announced.

Arnav frowned. What is she talking about?

Anjali took a deep breath and spoke with determination, "Chote! Aaj tumhein hum me se kisi ek ko chunna hoga! (Chote! Today you have to choose between us!)"

Arnav's eyes widened. Is she saying what I think she is saying?

Anjali continued to speak in an eerie calm manner, "Bolo Chote! Tum kise chun rahe ho; humein ya uss ghatiya ladki ko? Anjali ya Khushi ko? Soch ke jawaab dena! Kyunki tum jise nahi chunoge who yeh ghar chodke jaayega! (Tell me Chote! Who are you choosing; me or that cheap girl? Anjali or Khushi? Think and answer! Coz the person you won't choose will leave this house!)"

"Di!", Arnav whispered in horror.

"Nahi Chote! Bahut hogaya! (No Chote! This is enough!)", Anjali glared at Khushi, "I don't want this girl in my house! Ya toh yeh ladki yahaan rahegi ya toh hum! (Either this girl will stay here or me!) I cannot live in the same house as this girl! Bolo Chote! Tumhein kaun chaahiye, hum ya yeh ladki? (Tell me Chote! Who do you want, me or this girl?)

Standing few steps behind Anjali Shyam smirked. Humein pata hai Saale Saahib! Aap apni Di ko hi chunenge! Kyunki Di mein toh aapki jaan basi hai! Toh aap apni jaan ko chuniye, hum apni jaan Khushiji ka khayaal rakhte hain! Kyunki kya haina Saale Saahib, Khushiji ke ghar waalon ne toh unhein ghar se nikaal diya! Ab yahaan se nikaale jaayegi toh unhein sambhaalega kaun? Hum! Aur kaun! (I very well know Saale Saahib! You will choose your Di only! Because your life is in your Di! So you choose your life, and I will take care of my life, my Khushiji! You see Saale Saahib, Khushiji's family has thrown her out of her house! And once she is thrown out of here who will take care of her? Me! Who else!) He smiled smugly as he imagined his future with Khushi.

Arnav was aghast. How can his Di ask this? Didn't she know that Khushi has nowhere to go except this house? Her own family refused to accept her and now after being thrown out of here where would she go? Why was Di... and that's when Arnav's eyes met Shyam's eyes and Shyam's smug face gave answer to Arnav's every question. Oh! So even this was planned by you! You knew that I would choose my Di! And that would lead Khushi out of this house and right into your arms! And you, the bas***d you are, you would then stay married to my Di while having Khushi as your mistress. No! I won't allow it! I won't let you cheat my Di!

Arnav's eyes then turned to his Di and he wondered what to do next! I cannot choose Di without destroying her and Khushi's life! And I can't let that happen! But if I choose Khushi, then Di would leave the house! She will have no property on her name and that will only make Shyam abandon her! Now what do I do? Whom do I choose? Oh God! When did talking to my Di turn into a chess game? Time is such that I have to think 10 steps ahead before I make my move! Arnav shook his head sadly.

"Chote! Kya aapne soch liya? (Chote! Have you decided?)", Anjali prompted bringing Arnav out of his thoughts. He looked up at his Di and suddenly he remembered something. As the concept developed and turned into fully fledged idea, Arnav realised that he had the solution to his problem.

Arnav stared into his Di's eyes and spoke confidently, "I have my answer!"

Anjali smiled, knowing very well that her Chote will choose her. Why will he choose Khushi? He met her just few months back. He has known his Di his whole life. She practically raised him since their parents died. What did Khushi do for him?

Khushi hid her face in her hands. Of course Arnavji will choose Anjaliji. There is no option here!

Arnav looked at Anjali and with a calm voice he said, "I choose Khushi!"

Anjali's eyes widened. Khushi looked up in shock. Shyam's smile vanished. Naaniji gasped while Maama Maami were speechless. Aakash and Paayal looked at each other in surprise. Arnav chose Khushi. What the!

"Chote!", Anjali whispered with horror. How could her Chote choose Khushi over her? She felt anger build up in her. Her brother chose that cheap little girl over her? She turned towards Khushi and stormed towards her. Before anyone could stop her, she grabbed Khushi's arm roughly and hauled her up, "Dekha! Dekha tumne? Aaj humaare Chote ne humse jyaada tumhein ehmiyat di! Bahut khushi ho rahi hogi na tumhein? Aaj tum jeet gayi! The Great ASR tumhaare peeche itna paagal hogaya ki usne apni behen ko bhi tukhra diya. Haso! Haso na! Humein tumhaare chehre pe khushi dekhni hai! Haso! Laugh! (See! Did you see? Today my Chote has given you more importance than me! You must be feeling very happy right? Today you have won! The Great ASR has gone so mad for you that he has thrown his own sister away! Laugh! Laugh na! I want to see happiness on your face! Laugh!)" She shook Khushi's arm roughly making Khushi cringe. "Haso Khushi!", Anjali muttered in patronizing manner while turning her grip tighter around Khushi's hand. Khushi cried out in pain and that was the cue for Arnav to step in.

"Di! Stop it! You are hurting her!", Arnav spoke as he wrenched Khushi's arm from Anjali's tight grip. He looked at Khushi's arm all reddened with Anjali's fingers printed on it and he asked her softly, "You ok?" Anjali did not give Khushi a chance to reply, "Waah! Kya pyaar hai! Dekho! Humaare Chote Khushi ke haath ko dekh ke kaise hill gaye! (Wow! What a love! See! My Chote is so shaken after seeing Khushi's arm!)"

"Di!", Arnav hissed at her confused as to why his sister was behaving so unhinged. What Arnav did not understand was right now Anjali was feeling betrayed. Her younger brother choosing Khushi over her was nothing short of betrayal for her and right now she just wanted the couple feel as much hurt as she was feeling right now.

Anjali turned to her husband and spoke up, "Chaliye Shyamji! Mr Raizada ne apni decision le li! Ab jab Khushi yahaan rehne waali hai toh hum yahaan nahi reh sakte! Chaliye! (Come on Shyamji! Mr Raizada has made his decision! Now that Khushi is going to stay here, I cannot stay here then! Come on!)"

Shyam looked shocked, "Ab...abhi?", he hesitated. His plan was going to dogs. What was happening here?

Anjali nodded, "Haan! Abhi! Hum ab ek aur minute iss ghar mein nahi reh sakte! (Yes! Right now! I can't stay another minute in this house!)" She turned towards the door when Arnav spoke, "Ek minute Di!" She turned around, her eyes flashing in anger.

Arnav looked at her stoically, "Aapko kahin jaane ki zaroorat nahi! Aap iss ghar mein hi rahengi! (You don't need to go anywhere! You will stay in this house!)"

"Kyun? Itni meherbaani kyun? (Why? Why this generosity?)", Anjali shouted at him and Arnav looked at her with tenderness in his eyes, "Kyunki you are pregnant Di! I can't send you out of this house when you are pregnant!"

"Oh!", Anjali mumbled nonchalantly, "So what are you going to do about it? You want Khushi! And as long as you want her, I cannot stay here!"

Arnav looked down as he replied, "Then I will leave the house!"

Hush fell into the room as everyone looked at Arnav in shock.

Arnav turned around and walked up the stairs with everyone staring at him wide eyed. He walked towards his room. Few minutes later he came back to the hall with some files and spoke without looking at anyone in particular, "I made these papers with the thought that if I die, my family won't have to worry about the property and all, but I never thought this file would be needed under such circumstances."

Arnav turned towards his Naani and walked towards her, "Naani! Saalon pehle aapne yeh ghar mere naam kar diya tha kyunki main iss ghar ka bada beta hun isliye! (Naani! Years back you had named me the owner of this house because I was the eldest son of this house!) I think its time I give it away too. Shantivan is not mine anymore!"

"Par bitwa...", Naaniji spoke in worry but Arnav cut her off by keeping his finger on her lips. He shook his head with sad smie on his face, "Nahi Naaniji! It either me and Khushi or Di in this house! And I can't let Di go out! Especially when she is pregnant! So I have to go! Please Naani! Let me go!"

Naani quieted down and Arnav turned to Aakash. Aakash looked at him with tear filled eyes; his brother, his rock was leaving him. For once Aakash did not know what to say or do. Arnav smiled at his younger brother and handed him another file, "This is my power of attorney. I made this so that if something happens to me, you have the right to make decisions for AR till legally you inherit it. I made this so that you won't have to wait till all the legal formalities are cleared up to manage AR as the time gap might be damaging to the company! But I never thought that you will have to use this when I am alive and not dead or invalid!"

"Bhai!", Aakash mumbled as he lunged forward and hugged his elder brother. The brothers hugged each other as they, for the first time in their life, would live different lives from now on. Arnav pulled away and after patting his brother's shoulder he walked upto Anjali. Just as he reached her, all the traces of any emotion left his face and he faced his sister with cold and calculated expression. Gone was her Chote and it front of her stood ASR, the business tycoon.

"Here Di!", Arnav spoke as he gave her the remaining file in his hand, "Take this file! I have signed it. As of now, you are the owner of Shantivan." Anjali's eyes widened but she remained silent as her ego refused to let her speak or stop her brother from going. She wordlessly took the file.

Arnav turned around and looked at his family. He took in everyone's face as if memorizing them and then announced, "I am leaving this house and this family! I am taking nothing that is not mine! I am leaving everything to this family because it is this family that made me who I am! I am going away and building a new life with my wife somewhere else!"

Arnav turned to the stairs where Khushi stood, "Khushi!", he called for her and she looked at him, still in shock at the sudden turn of events. She shuffled towards him and stood by him. He raised his hand in front of her and spoke tenderly, "Chalein?"

Khushi looked at his hand and then at his face. She mutely raised her hand and placed it in his and he enclosed his fingers, his grip on her hand gentle and yet firm, signaling to her the strength of their relationship. He turned to walk away when he heard Maamiji speak, "Wait bitwa! Wat ees you doing? Ee kaa karat ho bitwa? You leaving Shantivan? You leaving us? For phati saree? Hello Hi Bye Bye! How cane you bitwa? How cane you?"

Arnav turned around and smiled at his Maamiji, "I am just leaving the house Maami. I am not leaving your heart. And Khushi is my wife. Aap aur Di hi kehti thi na ki ek pati ko apne patni ke saath khade rehna chaahiye! Aaj maine wahi kiya Maami! (You and Di keep on saying about how a husband should stand by his wife! Today I did exactly that Maami!) I did what you people taught me!" Arnav chuckled sadly and turned to walk away when when Naaniji shouted, "Rukiye Chote!"

Arnav turned around again and Naaniji stepped towards him and cupped his face, "Hum apne Chote ko jaanat hai! Woh kabhi koi aisa faisla naahi lenge jo bebuniyaad ho. Humka pata hai ki tumne aaj jo faisla liya woh soch samajh kar liya hai! Isiliye aaj hum yeh ailaan karat hain (I know my Chote! He will never take decisions that are meaningless. I know that whatever decision you have taken, you must have thought a lot before taking it! So today I announce)", she turned towards others, "ki hum bhi Chote ke saath jaa rahe hain! (that I am also going with Chote!)"

Anjali's jaw dropped open while Aakash and his parents looked with wide eyes. "Sasuma!", Maamiji cried out. "Amma!", Maamaji was aghast. Naaniji raised her hand signaling them that she did not want to hear a single word out of their mouth, "Humka kucho nahi sunna! Manorama! Hum yahaan nahi toh ee ghar ki jimmedaari tumhaari! (I don't want to hear anything! Manorama! I am not here so all the responsibilities of this house are yours!)" She pulled out her bunch of keys and handed it to her daughter-in-law.

Naaniji glared at everyone, "Hum jaanat ki tum sab Khushi bitiya ko galat samajhte ho. Aur Chote ke faisle ki wajah se tum uu ko bhi galat samajhte ho! Lekin humne duniya dekhi hai! Aur hum jaanat hai ki Chote aur Khushi bitiya kabhi koi galat faisla naahi lenge! Kyunki ee dono ne har waqt wahi faisla liya jo ee parivar ke liye sahi hai! Lekin humka naahi laagat ki in dono ke pariwaar waalon ko kauno bhi kadar hai inki ya inke pyaar ki! Isliye waqt aagaya hai ki ee dono apne liye jiyein! Aur hum inke saath jaayenge kyunki yeh aaj sahi hain!"

"(I know that you all think Khushi is wrong here! And you think Chote is wrong because of his decision! But I have seen the world! And I know that Chote and Khushi will never take any wrong decision! Because every decision they have taken till now has been for their family! But I don't think their family appreciates them! That's what it is time that these two live for themselves! And I will go with them because they are right today!)"

Everyone was too stunned to stop Naaniji. She grabbed her grandson's arm and muttered, "Chalo bitwa!" Arnav nodded and they turned to walk away when, "WAIT! WAIT FOR ME!"

Now it was Naaniji and Arnav's turn to be shocked along with everyone as Nk stumbled out of his room with his suitcase in his hand. He came running into the hall and huffed and puffed. Arnav raised an eyebrow. Finally catching up his breath, he spoke to Arnav, "I am coming too!"

"Bitwa?", Maamiji looked in horror. Nk turned and frowned at her, "No Maasi! Don't stop me! From my childhood I have stood by my friends and Khushiji is my friend! Main unko support karunga!"

He turned to Khushi and announced, "Yes Khushiji! I support you! You are a good person and a great friend! And in time of need, I won't abandon you! I am going with you!"

Khushi may not have understood half of what NK said, but she did understand the sentiment behind it and smiled softly.

"Hello Hi Bye Bye! You will not go! Tumka humri kasam!", Maamiji announced and NK turned around in shock. "Maasi!", he whined but Maamiji refused to budge. He huffed in annoyance and turned back to Khushi, "I am sorry Khushiji! I cannot come! Maasi gave me her kasam!" Khushi smiled again, "Koi baat nahi NKji! Aap humaare liye khade hue yahi bahut hai humaare liye! Hum chalte hain! (Its ok NKji! You stood up for me, that itself is enough for me! I am going!)" Nk nodded as Naani, Arnav and Khushi turned around and started walking towards the door.

Anjali started at them in anger. How dare her Naaniji claim that she was wrong? She was right and one day when Khushi will show her true colors both Naaniji and Chote will come running back to me! She huffed in anger as she folded her arms, her ego, hurt by Arnav's decision of choosing Khushi, refused to let her see the truth.

As they reached the threshold of the house, Arnav stopped and turned to look at Shantivan one last time. As he looked at each of his family members, his eyes fell on a confused looking Shyam. Of course, he is confused. He does not understand my decision. It is pretty simple Shyam, Arnav mused in his mind. I know you will leave my Di if she is penniless. So I left the house in her name! So she has money that will keep you tied to her! But I left AR in Aakash's name instead of your wife's because you would take everything in your name and then ditch my sister which I won't allow you to do! So AR is in Aakash's name from whom my sister will ask money for you and you will again be under the thumb of Raizada, albeit another Raizada! But you will still be begging for money from my sister!

Arnav smirked as he glared at Shyam. You may have won the battle by brainwashing my Di but I have won the game by tying you to my Di forever and taking Khushi far away from your eyes. But mark my words, Shyam, I will be back and I will take my revenge. I cannot do it now as my Di is pregnant and it's her dream to become a mother. But once the baby is born and my sister and her kid are safe, I will destroy you just the way you today, tried to destroyed me.

With Khushi's hand in one hand, and Naaniji held by his other hand, Arnav Singh Raizada walked out of Shantivan.

PRECAP:

Things only get worse as Khushi gets another shock!

After Arnav feeling betrayed by Shyam once Khushi told him the truth, and Anjali feeling betrayal when her brother chooses Khushi over her, it is Khushi's turn to face betrayal from someone she did not expect!

Thanks for reading!

Take care and have fun,

Dheere dheere sabke asali rang dikhana shuru ho gaya hai. Payal was unexpected. Poojali and the snake behaved as expected. 😕 The snake is confused by ASR's move. That was brilliant. Am really looking forwards to next part.
