Barring Kal Ho Na Ho, all his films are flops. However, D-Day did get positive reviews. He has started co-producing his films. Hero is a co-production with Salman Khan. Katti Batti is with Disney UTV and Sajid Nadiadwala. And he is producing Airlift.

So I dunno. Salman, Akshay and Siddarth Roy Kapur seem to think he deserves a chance.

D day got positive reviews because critics are idiots these days. When a khan film releases Taran Adarsh goes crazy and gives them 4-5 stars.

I understand its about connections but isn't it a big risk? Say I am a producer and I am putting 50crs in a film. ABsr calls me and tells me to take his son in lead. I know my film will be a washout if I cast him because who is going to spend money to watch him anymore? There must be more reasons why these guys are getting so many chances.

Shortage of stars? Directors/ producers extremely confident in their content? No one ready to work with them? etc

Now say Imran Khan is returning after a big break and chain on flops. Do you think other than few desperate girls anyone would be interested to see him come back?

NOTE that it's industry kids who get such chances, not everyone. I would put abhisekh bachchan before Saif who is at least a decent actor (Omkara, ek hasina thi etc).
It's unfair but that's the way it is!
Imagine Emraan hashmi and Sushant R Rajput disappearing while these ones still running around the industry...😵

Is he? I don't know. Just though TM made a relevant point and was trying to figure out why he is still making films.

EDIT: Wikipedia says:

A lesser known fact about Advani is that he is the grand nephew of late producer N. N. Sippy and second cousin of actor Tushhar Kapoor and producer Ekta Kapoor.

Saif gets chances coz the industry recognizes that he has talent but is choosing the wronf scripts.

He still has Kabir khan, Sujou ghosh, and latest the Salman production with luv shuv te chicken khurana director lined up.

And if anyone thinks he's not a good actor, then you clearly haven't watched Parineeta, Being Cyrus, Ek Hasina Thi, Omkara, Kurbaan, or even his rom coms.

If that isn't variety, I don't know what is.

In Nikhil Advani's case I think its a case of smart career management. He used his contacts and managed to bounce back with more films despite flops. I have seen quiet a few people do that while many simply disappear after 1-2 flops. Maybe not being a spectacular failure like people like RGV helps.

The rest like Tushar, Abhishek are industry kids. SAK too got lots of chances back in the 90s till be managed to prove himself as an actor much later in the 2000s.
