bollywood sometimes gives way to many chances

Lets say Nikhil Advani, he had just one superb film and nothing else. Then rest all he had were either disasters or flop. Now he is coming with 2 more movies and one will be sure shot disaster because it stars a no value guy who was finished many years ago- Imran Khan.

Then we have Saif Ali Khan. Don't get me wrong I actually like him. However the guy is not bankable at all. He gives loads and loads of flops. He can't draw and only if the movie gets good word of mouth people go to see.

There are loads of people like this who should have been finished long time back. Why do the industry give them so many opportunities. Do they like loosing money?

Saif is a great actor who has been choosing wrong scripts these days. If he chose to choose a very strong script, he would do wonders. Imraan on the other hand would not as he's never really been at the top as an actor.

Chances are given because a) recommendations from other people in the industry b) influence (like for Imraan, Aamir's word can do the trick maybe), c) provided a good scripts comes along, the movie can fare well. Well established actors will ALWAYS be given a chance. Not so well established actors will also be given a chance to showcase their talent or give them another chance at doing what they love. It all comes back down to script sense. And these days that is exactly what Bollywood lacks.

If you're well connected then you will get too many chances.

Saif was useless but kept getting chances till he finally showed merit in DCH. All because he is Sharmila Tagore and Tiger Pataudi's son.

There's no dearth of people who are no good but have been shoved down audiences' throats all due to bhai-bhatijawaad of the industry. 🤢

An ordinary person never gets such chances.

Saif is good only in those chasing skirt kind of roles. That doesn't makes him a good actor. Only one Omkara is all he has in the name of some real role and he was pretty OK there but not like a great actor or something.

Interesting point.

Imran, AB Jr, Arjun and Saif are all from star families. Jacky Bhagnani is only cast in the films his dad makes. No one else is interested in him.

But what about Nikhil Advani?

Barring Kal Ho Na Ho, all his films are flops. However, D-Day did get positive reviews. He has started co-producing his films. Hero is a co-production with Salman Khan. Katti Batti is with Disney UTV and Sajid Nadiadwala. And he is producing Airlift.

So I dunno. Salman, Akshay and Siddarth Roy Kapur seem to think he deserves a chance.
