The couple lost out on hosting Gold Awards for allegedly quoting a huge sum
Actor couple Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi has lost the opportunity of hosting the Gold Awards to be held next month in Mauritius. Apparently, they quoted a fee that was too huge to fit the organisers' (Anuj Saxena, Maverick Productions and Pooja Ghai-Vikaas Kalantri, White Leaf Entertainment) budget.
When asked, Archana said that they had been approached to host the function but couldn't take it up because of a date problem. She says, "I am busy with 'Comedy Circus' (Sony) and am also acting in two films. We are not sure if we would be free on the days of the event (September 21, 22 and 23). It would have been unfair to accept the offer in such circumstances."
Parmeet however had a different story to tell. "They said they would get back to us but they didn't. Probably money is the reason," he says. Recently, it was reported that Parmeet has indeed hiked his fees. Apparently, the actor was being considered to play the role of Om in 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii' (Star Plus) but lost the role for citing a huge remuneration. Parmeet refutes that saying, "It is not true. I was not even called to confirm the news."
Quiz him on what's happening on the professional front and he says, "I have nothing on hand; I am just lying low. I have been quite busy doing good work on TV. So, I am holidaying now."
Vikaas on his part denied money being the reason for Archana and Parmeet not hosting the function. He says, "Archana and Parmeet were being considered. But eventually, during the process of meetings, the option didn't materialise. Money is not the reason here; in fact, we are good friends and Parmeet was actually quite forthcoming."
Vikaas informs that first Mona Singh and beau Karan Oberoi were finalised to host the evening. But after the event got postponed, Mona and Karan had to bow out because of dates clashing. Now, Mandira Bedi has been finalised to host the evening while they are still deciding on the male host.
