So close...very very close...and yet far!!
She looks like a vision, a dream, beautiful satin and silky sheen, sitting in front of a gorgeous reflection!! The mirror reflects her true mood..radiant, blushing, the flush of anticipation darkening her cheeks, the coy smile that won't leave her lips, the shy eyes that were weighed down with anxious waiting,her heart that fluttered with every bated breath...she looks like a bride, waiting for her groom to be or like a damsel waiting for her knight...or she simply looks like a 17 year old who was going to be meet her to be in a few hours and confess her love...her first love!!😳 All she could think of was him, and what he was going to say to her tonight!! Nothing else could intrude!! And then comes the worry...what will she say to him?? How will she respond?? How in the world will she say all that she feels for him. Its all so overwhelming, so new, so strong..this feeling that seems to overpower her!! She would never be able to muster the courage to confess her true emotions in front of him...Oh God...how mortifying!! May be practice will help, may be she will feel less awkward!! She ought to at least try !! And so Manik's darling Nandini decides to practice the biggest truth of her life!! Oh sweet sweet girl...somethings in life cannot be practiced...it comes straight from the heart when the time is right!!😃 Coz when you will see him, all handsome and totally loving, you will forget yourself...and all senses will forsake you!! But..try she had to!! So off she goes...scene 1 take 1...I...Love...and lo n behold...she couldn't go further 😆, even when he was not there and she was alone with herself...epic fail Nandu!! 😆 She has a never say never spirit and we love her for that...so here goes...scene 1 take 2...(this time she says his name)..Manik...I...hmmm..closes her eyes coz she feels so so shy...
And of course...in comes the Monster...purrrfect timing!!😆 He looks at her, first casually, closed eyes n all!! I...okay, whatever...LOVE..the look on his face, the expression in his eyes...EPIC!! Priceless...so his girl couldn't think of anything else?? She was thinking of him, she was trying to confess her love for him?? She was practicing saying I love you to him???? Trying to be prepared for their big moment, their D Day...she was rehearsing her love???
You know he could have simply stood there and let her finish her sentence...that would have been a confession of sorts too!! But no, he is after all Nandini's Manik...he too does not want that special moment to be shaping up like this!! He does not want the most memorable three words of his life to be said in such a manner...everything has to be perfect ...a perfect fairy tale !!
And so he clears his throat, warning her that her grand rehearsal was in danger of turning into a grand finale!! That the object of her imagination is as real as the air whispering on her dainty shoulders!! He was there...open your eyes princess!! Her embarrassment when he catches her red handed!! Wish she could simply disappear!! (However many years later, I wish she never stops blushing for him)! Suddenly aware of her state of undress, she panics, snatching the cover and trying to cover herself up!! What the hell was he doing here...playing havoc with her senses??? Killing her with his all too knowing look and teasing smile!!😃
Continue...he says...while he enjoys himself at her expense!! She stopped him from uttering those magical words...and now she herself was indulging in a practice session??!!😆 MONSTER!! Nothing ever escapes him, does it?? Embarrassed...her lack of covering make her totally conscious of his eyes on her...she desperately asks him to leave!! And he of course takes that as a challenge, drawing close...very very close...hmm...why..he asks?? Wanna practice more?? Of course he can help!! 😉 Be it music or confessions or anything else she has in mind...he can always help...right?!! So in he goes for the kill...he can help ..show her the best way to express her love ...☺️...the way he likes it!! Besharam u think...so does Nandu?? She blushes coz she understands her man..and his naughty and intense look says it all!!
He snatches the flimsy garment out of her hands then, the one she has been using to cover herself up..or rather trying to!! She is his, be it today or tomorrow..every inch of her belongs to him...try n hide from him, she still belongs !! Be it her body, or her heart or her soul...its all his to claim!! And he knows that, his action reflect his confidence, but his love reflects respect!! Not for him to take advantage of her state, not for him to force his desires on her unprepared self...he wants her ease, her comfort, her readiness, her happiness and her dignity!! Gently and carefully, he dresses her!! Covers her with all the tenderness in the world...helps her feel less at a disadvantage...and when she looks up , he says...I am waiting!! (and he always will, till you are ready Nandu)
She is back...with a bang!! No more shy or embarrassed and the spark of mischief in her eyes, should have warned him!! Nothing with this girl will ever come easy..and he should have known that by now!! Off she goes...I ...love...and at every word, his expressions, heart stopping!! Or no...his heart was in his eyes...waiting with bated breath...the glint of hope and desperation and love in his eyes...stupendous!! I ...Love...This Dress!! The naughty kid that she is...she sparkles and shines!! WHAT?? (No...you can't snatch my piece of paradise from me..Nandu!! )😆..Lets be truthful Manik...she is not wrong in loving the dress...it makes her look gorgeous..and you know that...you haven't been able to take your eyes off her!! Not to mention the fact that it covers her curves...while you are always hell bent on uncovering ...hmm...err😳!! So...she the kiddo claims she loves her outfit with all the enthusiasm of a girl...and totally lost on a guy!!😃
She drags the brooch in for better results...his excuse to see her...remember??😆 His sulkiness, makes her go for take 2. Okay...she ...his smile...loves...he can't wait...the brooch...and she flings the shiny piece in the air...and with it, his heart!! 😆 Well...he is a good catch and a better catcher!! He can hold his own in front of his Ms. Spit Fire! If only she would stand still...but off she goes again..expecting him to chase. And we know he would have followed her...to the ends of the earth...had not the mumma monster made a hasty and nasty appearance!! Kabab mein solid wali classy wali haddi!!😃
So the hone wali saas tries her best to run down the hone wali bahu...(seriously do they never learn) but the bahu here is proving worth her salt!! She no longer fears or cowers, basking in the confidence her man's love gives her!! What a fitting response Nandu...she will get what she deserves...what was always hers..and nothing or no one could stop that!! 👏👏👏 Amen to that!! Nothing will ever stop Nandini from being Manik's !! Remarkable how he wanted to go defend his girl when his mom started getting nasty...so reassuring!! He will always keep her safe and happy...the she devil be damned!! But Nandu is a quick learner Manik, reast assured if she can handle the difficult son, the mother is a piece of cake!!😉
Wounded and breathing fire, mommy darling beats a hasty exit, leaving the love birds behind!! One fuming and frothing, the other calming him down...like she always does!! Reminding him that they were so close to their happy wala ending...and he admits...realizes what she says...and adds his own touch...very very close...close enough to be called one soul, close enough to be one, close enough to never let the world intrude!!
P.S...Friday...have plenty of time so will make another post for the rest...its worth a say !!
P.P.S...these two better hurry up...or I will jump in and confess!! 😃
