Qubool Hai has seen new story emerge where one track is based in Pakistan. And in that track we have a young man Varun Toorkey who plays Shaad Aftab Khan. An army officer who is to be stoic, unflappable and deadpan. In our interview with him, we found out what Shaad and Varun are all about. Here, is the part 1 of that interview.
Of course, we have not had issues like the ones we faced during this interview before. Actually we have had, when we were on the same location and Sehban Azim spoke to us. Well, here we faced the camera being wobbly, the exposure not being same as the umbrella we had put up for some shade for Varun kept flapping in the strong breeze and playing havoc with the light (Sun). And then of course, things were falling apart. The umbrella fell down, the thermocol sheet flew when we had to keep holding the camera to keep it steady and yes, utter chaos ensued as we trudged along.

Perhaps the fun part in this was that both of us were unfazed by all the disruptions and we also welcomed interruption when Additi Gupt and Seema Chaudhary joined us. Of course, even there, the minute we got them down to sit with us, they were called for their shot.
Hope you enjoy this part of the conversation and uncannily, Varun was exact in the time we had taken to getting around to the first real question in the interview. Guess, there is Shaad, the army man in him somewhere. Yes, that happens to us. The reason is that we like to have a conversation rather than determined set of questions fired at the interviewee and expecting answers that are succinct.
For us the real person behind the actor, the emotions and ambitions that drive them to be what they are is what fascinates us. We feel it
is an honour to share space with them and learn about things that make them strive for their dreams.
