The Vitamin E contained in Olives is the body's primary fat-soluble antioxidant. Anti-oxidants help to srengthen the body's immune system; reducing the severity of asthma, cancer, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis, premature ageing, as well as delaying the effects of ageing. Olives contain compounds called polyphenols that appear to have significant anti-inflammatory properties. Imam as-Suyuti comments that in using olive oil as a balm, you fortify your limbs and as a result reduce inflammation.
Ibn Umar recorded the well-known hadith: "Use olive oil and anoint yourself with it, because it is from a blessed tree." (Bayhaqi)
The juice of the olive, otherwise known as olive oil, is a delicious source of antioxidants. This oil is monounsaturated, and it has a positive effect on the cholesterol level in our blood streams, by helping to reduce it. Monounsaturated fats are an important part of our diets. These oils act to keep cholesterol from sticking to our artery walls, and thus combating against diseases such as heart disease and strokes. Not only that, but they help to control blood sugar, a big plus in offering protection against Diabetes.

As regards to the Olive tree, Allah says:
' ' ' ' '' ' '
"And We created the tree which grows on Mount Sinai: it gives oil and is used as food also by those who like to eat it.." (23:20)

The roots of the Olive tree are so extensive and strong that in times of drought, whe

n other trees die, the Olive tree is still standing because it draws from deep within the earth when the heavens withhold their life-giving water.

The human body easily absorbs olives. This aids digestion, and so your body can handle food with ease. Imam Jalaaluddin as-Suyuti in his book, "Medicine of the Prophet" suggests drinking Olive oil so as to keep the bowels moving, soothing pains and combating constipation.

Olives are also very light foods (i.e. contain low calories), but at the same time very filling; being able to quickly satisfy hunger, and lead to fewer total calories ingested at mealtime.

It is recorded that Rasulullah (SAW) said: "Every kind of olive oil is for you, and anoint yourself with it..."

Rasulullah (SAW) used to recommend olives and saffron in cases of pleurisy, and he used to say that olives are the medicine of the poor.

In another tradition Rasulullah (SAW) said: "Eat olive oil and anoint yourself with it" (Al-Tirmidhi)

Saied al-Ansari narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) said: "Eat the olive oil and massage it over your bodies since it is a blessed tree." (Al-Tirmidhi)

Indeed, Allah has mentioned the Olive tree as being blessed as well: "A blessed Tree, an Olive, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil is well-nigh luminous.." (Surah Nur 24: 35)

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) stated: "Eat the olive oil and apply it (locally), since there is cure for seventy diseases in it, one of them is Leprosy."

Khalid Bin Sa'd narrate: "I came to Medina with Ghalib Bin Al Jabr. Ghalib became ill during the journey. Ibn Abi Atq came to see him and told a narration from Aisha that the Prophet told about the cure in Kalonji. We crushed a few seeds of Kalonji and mixed it with olive oil and dropped in both nostrils, after which Ghalib became healthy." (Bukhari)

According to ibn al-Qayyim, Olives are an exhilarant, they provide prevention against poisons, gives the facial complexion glow, regulates the digestive process, expels the intestinal parasites, makes the hair lustrous and minimizes ageing problems. He also comments that the massage of olive oil with common salt over the gums is a remedy for several diseases of gums and teeth. The chronic ulcers and boils, which show difficult healing condition, are healed up with the use of olive oil generally. The local application of olive oil or the water extracted from the crushed olive oil leaves is effective on boils, rashes and itching.

Imam Tirmidhi (in the Shama'il of at-Tirmidhi) mentions that it was reported that the Prophet used so much olive oil that his shawl was often saturated with it

By mentioning olives and olive oil in several places in the Qur'an, as well as Allah taking an oath by it, confirms its nutritional value which has been proved by medical and scientific research in the twentieth century. These Qur'anic references prove the scientific miracle of the Holy Qur'an which was revealed 1400 years ago as well as the miracles of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to whom the Qur'an was revealed; he said, "Consume olive oil and use it as lubricant and lotion, for it comes from a blessed tree ".

Many questions related to this issue come to mind, such as, why did Allah reveal this ayah in the Holy Qur'an? And why did He make the Prophet (PBUH) inform us about the olive tree, its fruit and oil? The answer to these questions is that Allah knows best in His all-encompassing knowledge; perhaps that one day, man will discover the benefits of olives and olive oil, making the Qur'anic ayah and the above Hadith witnesses to the fact that the Qur 'an is the Word of Allah.

Allah's Messenger said, "The stomach is the central basin of the body, and the veins are connected to it. When the stomach is healthy, it passes on its condition to veins, and in turn the veins will circulate the same and when the stomach is putrescence, the veins will absorb such putrescence and issue the same" - Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (saws).

Useful herbs are not forbidden in Islam does not "intoxicate"and not lose money

Hasheesh of all types is forbidden, whether it is marijuana or any other type.

Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace, is explicitly commended in the Qur'an as the best pattern for believers to follow. Therefore, the practice and precepts of the Prophet have been a source of legal judgements and general guidance in the affairs of Muslims since the earliest days of Islam, a source which supplements and is second only to the Qur'an. Since health is so important a part of human well-being, it is not surprising that Muslims over the centuries devoted so much effort to recording and reflecting upon what the Prophet taught about maintaining good health, preventing and curing diseases and ailments.

The most widespread book on Prophetic Medicine' was that written by Ibn Qayim al-Jawziyiah (691-751AH / 1293-1351). But there are scores of manuscripts on the subject in world libraries and museums. After a preliminary study, I found references to some forty different books (some published, most manuscripts, some lost) with the title Prophetic Medicine'. In his 1985 paper on Islamic heritage, S. Abdullah al-Habashi of Yemen mentioned 23 monographs by different authors on plagues and infectious diseases -

Recently, the number of publications on Prophetic Medicine as a whole or on different areas of it has been growing rapidly. There are many books and articles, referenced with ahadith (sayings) of the Prophet on the curative properties of honey, black seed (Nigella Sativa), senna (Casiacutifolia), henna

(Lawsonia Inermis), aloes (Aloe Vera), garlic and onions, olive oil, etc.; on the positive health benefits of breast feeding, and of the Islamic practices of fasting, prayers, ablution, cleaning the teeth and mouth, etc. Doctors in particular have been very active in elucidating the relevant ahadith and their importance to health promotion and disease prevention. Papers are published almost weekly on Islamic teachings related to health concerns, for example on food and drink (prohibition of excess, of pork, blood, and intoxicant drugs like alcohol), on circumcision, on sexuality and marriage (particularly with regard to the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such as AIDS).

At the moment I have extremely dry lips which are making them go brown and scabby and looked up google and olive oil is one of things they recomend to put on them. They are slowly improving.

I have grown to like olives. We use olive oil extensively.

Grape seed is another great oil. It can be used at high temperature so it's good for stir-frying.

\\

Tend to be a bit expensive so I use other oils but I will try and use some olive oil in future from time to time.

I watch for when it is on sale and buy it then. I have a couple of bottles to spare on hand.

\\

yes brothers

l I love black olives in food and crude green olive for hair and skin

My 83 yr old father in law digs Edgar Cayce.Swears by his writings and beliefs.Olive, peanut and vegetable oils are great.I get really nasty splits in my hands I the winter, he mixed up a Cayce cocktail of peanut and olive oil, and fi,ed my hands I 3days.Super glue, nu-skin, aloe, eucerin, all kinds of shit hardly worked but this shit was instant in its healing.Believe it folks, as far fetched as it sounds, its true.Said it works for all kinds of internal stuff too, from blood pressure, constipation, headaches, etc.Who would think a 5'4" 83yr old racist retired police captain from one of the most violent era's in Philly would be a Cayce follower?
