This short film featuring Kangana Ranaut will make you believe in your dreams!

Our Bollywood Queen, Kangana Ranaut, had small beginnings and believed in herself, when no one did. This small-town girl never gave up and has made it real big in tinselville. And now she encourages Indian youth to follow their dreams and make them real!

Collaborating with Microsoft, Kanagana features in a short film titled "Sapney" which highlights the essence that Indian youth should be encouraged to follow their dreams and not seek to follow the herd.

The film is simple and shows how Kangana manages to convince the young girl's parents to let her be a designer and not the usual MBA-herded child. Ranaut shares anecdotes about how her parents were dead against her and now are extremely proud.

"Zindagi mein boho.. kuchh ek log hotey hai joh sapna dekh paate hain aur bohot kam log hain joh un sapno ke liye mehnat karna chahte hai".- Kangana Ranaut

Pearls of wisdom from Queen herself!

Very short, simple, sweet, and straight to the point. I love this video! Honestly Indian parents really have high expectations on wanting their son/daughter to go into the fields of medicine, IT, engineering, etc. They push them so much into going into one of those high fields without thinking about what their child really wants to do. I remember talking to my parents about my singing and wanting to be a part of SRGMP one day. My dad just shunned me off along the lines of 'kaha woh SRGMP contestants aur kaha tu.' Basically saying that without proper training or anything I wouldn't go anywhere with the singing. For me it was more about experience than getting on the platform. He kept telling me that singing would get me no where in life. I guess Gujju parents are a bit more reserved. I mean, let's be honest. How many successful women in the industry are Gujarati? Not many. Seriously, parents really should let their children follow their dreams and pursue what they want. They shouldn't be pushed into anything by force. Sometimes it takes a third party to make them realize this. In this case it was Kangana. She's a celebrity, though, so the influence is greater than if another random person not known for their work said the same thing. That's a bit of a flaw that I saw in this short film. But the message was beautiful. I did not know that about Kangana that her dad was against her. I just hope that parents realize that it is the child's future and they should be able to decide for themselves what they want to pursue. Just because parents are doctors, engineers, IT professionals themselves do not mean that their children have to follow in their footsteps. They should be able to make their own choice because they have to live with it the rest of their lives growing up. Basically, it should be #theirchoice. :-)
