@TM - You are actually talking like my Dadi! Usne apne bache ko ache sanskar kyum nahi diye? Yeh sab uske ma ki galati ahi! Ek ma ko apne bachonko sahi raha dikhani chahiye. Us bache ki galatiyonka karan sirf uski ma ki buri parvarish hai ... etc.
As if a mother is a rmote to her children and their behaviour. Duggu is an adult and he is responsible for his own views. From his perspective, he does not know why Naiitk chose for his family to move to South Africa and never visit the SS in India. They talk to the SS family as if they have not left, but refuse to go visit. I am pretty sure that Duggu is feeling helpless bcause he spent his childhood iwth the SS (no matter how weird or mahan they are) and he misses them dearly. Yet, they refuse to tell him the reason why they left India. In his head, Naitik favours only Naira and dislikes him. He is also angry on Naitik on uprooting him from his childhood.
[I too was nine when I left India to go abroad, and I cried almost every night for a few months because I missed my family dearly. I rember my mother being very sad as well. That is a very bad age to leave one's country, because kou remember enough to miss it but not enough to understand why you loved it so much. Obviously, my parents told me why we left, so I did not hate them.]
On top of that, Duggu is a teenager so "garam khun" toh hota hai (according to my dad). He is bound to be rebellious but yes his hurting words are unwarranted. They could have shown him as being quiet in front of his dad and dfient of his authority at the same time.
Akshara's only fault in the whole thing is that she should have told Duggu the truth of Naitik's kurbani. It will wipe out the hatred that Duggu feels for his father.
P.S. Sorry TM if I hurt your feelings. This is not my intention. Please do not take it to heart. I jsut dislike the whole attitude of blaming the mother if the adult kid does something wrong. Although I am a girl, I can see my teenage self in Duggu and I do not wish anyone to blame my mother for my mistakes. (Oh, and my mother is just as selfless as Akshara with my Nana and Nani like Vshambhar and Rajyashree.)
