Being a sporty and an adventurous person I would love to act in a movie like 'Chak De'! Hats off to SRK for proving that you don't always need a galaxy of top stars to make a runaway hit," insists Rajeev Khandelwal who will now be quitting the show 'LRL'.
Rajeev is gearing himself for his film debut in director Anurag Kashyap's 'Aamir'. But wouldn't Rajeev's absence adversely affect the show? "Maybe in the initial episodes his fans would miss him. But gradually audiences will get engrossed in the twists. After all it's a character-driven and not a saas bahu one," explains co-producer Deeya Singh.
Not surprisingly, even producer Tony Singh echoes Rajeev's observation that 'the characters and storytelling in 'Chak De India' are similar to that of 'LRL'. But we are not complaining.
Actually we are excited that we have been running our youth-centric story with an army backdrop, for the past one year," says Tony who is simultaneously shooting for his next serial 'Jhoome Jiya Re' (Zee Next), which revolves around a dance academy.
Meanwhile, co-actor Priyanka Bassi (cadet Naina Singh) confesses that Rajjv's untimely exit would be a 'major loss' to her.
"Besides the fact that the audiences liked our chemistry, I will be missing him as a co-star and a mentor," confesses Priyanka who like Rajeev is all set to step in Bollywood once the show comes to an end. "Maybe, a Lara Croft thriller would be cool for me, since I love both acting and action," she signs off.
