Kalki Koechlin is no stranger to voicing her opinion on women's issues. The actress has always believed in talking about issues that concern women, and in the past, she performed an intense monologue, written by herself, on womanhood named 'The Truths Of Womanhood'. Last week her good friend, Deepika Padukone starred in a video - My Choice directed by Homi Adajania that spoke about women empowerment. Though she received support from the film fraternity, she also faced flak by a lot of her fans for having a convoluted view about gender equality.

When we asked Kalki for her take on the video, this is what she had to say. "I think what Deepika has spoken in the video makes sense. I do understand the counter argument too where everyone has been saying that had men said the same lines about having sex outside marriage being their choice, they would have been branded idiots or ass****s. However, we still do have a clear cut demarcation or boundary as to what men and women are supposed to adhere to. It's great that the film has brought about a lot of questioning and debate. It is very true of liberating women to make their own choices and then be responsible for them. But unfortunately, it has become a girls v/s boys debate. Women empowerment is about equality. I wish there were more men in the video along with women where both the sexes would have a say and would discuss their choices."
