I made friends for life in 'KKK' : Asha Negi

Asha Negi, the TV actress from Dehradun, who won Nach Baliye 6 with beau Rithvik Dhanjani, is often known as Purvi, her character in Pavitra Rishta. Though she is polite and sweet, she has a hidden tomboy in her. The actress is all ready to show her stronger self and her tomboyish nature as she tackles stunts on her second reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. In an exclusive chat with Just ShowBiz, she talks about the show, her fears and experience with the show.

What's the reason behind taking up a show like KKK?

Probably because I hadn't tried anything like this before. I have been one of the famous bahus of TV (courtesy Pavitra Rishta)and also did Nach Baliye 6 with Rithvik but this is totally new to me. Earlier, I rejected the show twice because I wasn't very comfortable. But this time they called Rithvik and wanted him to convince me. Before giving it a nod, I had a discussion with him and he was very confident that I could do it.

What are the fears which you overcame with KKK?

Before participating in the show, I was scared of everything like water, reptiles, fire and heights. Now, I am quite comfortable with heights and reptiles but still need to master swimming.

What was your strategy to win the show?

There was no strategy as such but I wanted to be calm and never panic during a stunt which actually helped me out in all my stunts.

The stunts appear to be really dangerous. How did you manage?

I was really scared and did not want to insult myself. My only plan was to give my 120 percent and I think that's how I managed to do the stunts.

Who among the contestants gave you a tough fight?

All of them. I know it's politically wrong to say this but when you see the show you will know that everybody was so strong in their own way. For example, Hussain was so calm and would do all his stunts without panic. Ashish's endurance and strength level was too high. In fact, the girls this time were very strong with high will power.

What would you like to say about the other contestants?

I made friends for life. I am glad and blessed that I did the show this season because of the people in the show. I have no clue how we managed to be nice with everyone but all of them were genuinely sweet. There was competition but we never took it to our personal lives.

What was it like to do a show with ace director Rohit Shetty?

Before the show started, we were really scared because people told us that he is very strict and scares you before the stunt. But it turned out to be the opposite. He always motivated us and gave us advice. Rohit Shetty grew up with stunts and that is one reason why we could do our stunts really well. Apart from that, in between shots he used to sit with us and share his stunt experiences and also his snacks (smiles). He is a host for the audience but a dost for us.

According to you, is there anything in the format of the show which needs to be changed?

I don't know about the other seasons but this season was a perfect season for us. Whatever format they have applied this year is definitely going to rock and people are going to like it a lot.

Do you agree that participation is more important than winning?

Now I agree because I am glad I participated in the competition. Earlier, I was not very worried about winning or loosing but I wanted to stay in the competition for a long time. I think you should definitely take risks in life. I always used to underestimate myself before the show. Winning and losing don't matter... but you should definitely work towards winning.

Do you think you are much more stronger now than the person you were before the show?

Oh my god, Yes! Physically, I am the same but mentally, I am much more strong now. I recognized my own hidden strengths.
