The unit members of Kaajjal accuse Kay Sera Sera Productions of not paying them their dues

Sony TV's prime-time show Kaajjal was initially produced by Kay Sera Sera Productions but for some unknown reasons they were unable to continue. The show was then handed over to Shreya Creations. Before the hand-over the production house (Kay Sera Sera) had promised its unit members that their dues would be settled soon after the release of their film, Partner. Well, the film was released, but the unit of Kaajjal was left high and dry. Not just that, whoever received the payment complained that their cheques had bounced. The complaint also goes that the producer is avoiding calls now.

According to our sources, Kay Sera Sera Productions owes over Rs 1 crore of payment to the unit members. Lashing out at the ex-producers, Kaajjal's screenplay writer, Barry Dhillon says, "Yes, they have not paid me yet.

The channel has already paid up the production house. All this while, the producers kept telling us that they had to repay heavy loans and that they would be able to pay up only after the release of their film, Partner. The payment for 30 episodes is still pending. Earlier the cheques had bounced and now they're refusing to take our calls. After we got no response to our letters, we had to complain to The Film Writers' Association. We are waiting for a response."
Prasad Gavandi, director of the show, says, "Kay Sera Sera owes me Rs 19.5 lakh, which is three months' salary. I have complained to the IFTDA (Indian Film and TV Directors' Association) and they have sent a letter to the production house. We are waiting for some action."

When we contacted producer, Rajesh Pavitran, against whom all the allegations are leveled, he refused to comment on this issue. Initially he did speak about the film, Partner, saying that it is doing well and he's happy with it. However, when we asked him about the dues pending, he said, "I cannot give you my comments over the phone. I'm in a meeting, I can't talk to you now."
