CHAPTER 6B
After a few days, Arnav came to Gupta mansion and asked for Khushi. Ravi told him that she was in the terrace. Arnav went up and saw Khushi crying silently looking at the sky. His heart clenched seeing his love like that. He went to Khushi and sat next to her.
"Why did you agree to marry me, Khushi?"
By hearing Arnav's words, Khushi's dam broke and started crying on Arnav's Shoulder. She kept on weeping on his shoulder.
"I...I...Sssorry Arnavji. I was being selfish. I am ruining your life."
"What the, Khushi, What are you talking about? How will you ruin my life?"
"I am ruined girl Arnavji, I trusted a man with all my life and he broke my heart" Arnav's hold on Khushi tightened when she talked about Shyam. "My trust in love is ruined for someone's lust. You know Arnavji, My babuji saved that man when he had nobody, when he was a orphan. He gave him education and dignity in society. Doesn't that man have any sense of Loyalty? I never hated anybody, than that man in my life. I hate myself for loving that monster. How can I love you when I can't even love myself?"
"Shhh, Khushi. Don't waste your thoughts and time on that man. You don't have to worry about me."
"How can I not worry, How can you live with a wife who doesn't love you? You are a wonderful person Arnavji, You deserve the best in the world."
"And who said I am not getting the best? I know you are the best person for me Khushi." Arnav saw that Khushi was confused. He was about to confess his love to Khushi, but stopped his next words, as he doesn't want Khushi not to feel guiltier. He wanted to tell her that he had enough love for him for both of them. "I would have not survived the pain of this two months had it not for you Khushi. Losing Anjali hit me very hard. We were together since our conception; we played together in our mother's womb and never left each other sight in our lives. It killed my soul to her lifeless body. If hadn't been your comforting words and support this two months, I would probably killed my self." Khushi put her hands on his lips and murmured no. Arnav removed her hand gently "Let me finish Khushi, Anjali always told me marry a girl that you are willing to share both happiness and pain. I have never shared my pain with anyone else even my parents that I have shared it with you. So now, You know what kind of place you have in my heart." He tool hold of Khushi's hands "I promise you, We will not have normal wife and husband relationship until you forget your pain and ready to accept me. We will be best friends and share our pain. I also want to promise that I will not leave that man, who caused so much havoc in our lives. You lost your father and I lost my sister. I am noting every move of that bas***d, It will be easy to throw him in Jail, but I am waiting for the right moment, Let him go and sit in sky, because the higher he goes, the faster he falls down to ground." He removed his hands from her and wiped her tears and cupped her face. "So Ms. Khushi Kumari Gupta, Will you marry your best friend?"
"Yes"
That's all Arnav needed in his life for that moment.
Three weeks later
He looked at her walking to the mandap wearing a red lehanga, that moment he forgot about everything that happened in their lives. He forgot about his revenge, he forgot his promise to Khushi. He just drank her beauty through his eyes.
She looked in his eyes when she walking to the mandap adjusting her lehanga. She looked into hopeful eyes of her Arnavji. She forgot about his promise. She blushed like a normal bride looking forward to their blissful life ahead. Her eyes too wandered on how her soon to be husband looked in his Sherwani.
Both of them let their minds void of reality of their relationship to enjoy the present ambiance of their wedding. For now he was an impatient Dulha and She was a blushing yet eager Dulhan.
They fulfilled all these rituals with all their hearts. Their hearts shone with happiness and it showed in their face. For the guests at the wedding they looked like a couple in love and not a couple who compromised their wedding. After the saath phere, Arnav put sindoor on Khushi's maang, when Arnav put sindoor, Khushi heart raced faster than a baby's heart. Her body shivered with a new feeling when Arnav touched her nape to tie Mangalsutra. Little did she know that her heart has accepted Arnav all she has to do is convince her erratic mind.
