Part 16
The women entered the washroom and Ishita took both of them near the long dressing mirror.
Sarika - Ishita, please tell us what happened! I am sure now that you just didn't bring us here to give you company!
Simran - Please tell us what is bothering you!
Ishita - Listen promise me whatever I am telling you guys will stay within us and us only. Okay?
Both - Okay we promise
Ishita - Please listen to what I am saying carefully. You guys may not believe this but I have seen it with my own eyes. I saw Shagun and Parmeet sir together in his cabin!
Simran - What! Kabhi?
Ishita - Around a month back, my second week at work. I was waiting in office late that day. Everyone had gone home. I had finished my work and wanted to go to the washroom before leaving. I was returning to my desk when I heard muffled sounds coming from his cabin. I went and stood near the glass partition and saw them together! I tried to listen to what they were saying. I heard them admitting their relationship and Shagun kissed him too!
Both - What!
Ishita - And that is not even the worst part! They both admitted to stealing from Mr President!
Sarika - Matlab?
Ishita - They are eating the company's money!
Sarika - Ishita! We believe you! Because you never lie! But did you tell this to sir?
Ishita - No I didn't! What if he did not believe me? I had no proof. He could have thrown me out for making baseless accusations!
Simran - So you never told anybody about this?
Ishita - No, I did not. I have only told you guys!
Sarika - So you have been keeping this information inside you for a month!
Ishita - Yes, Sarika. I had no choice. No one would believe me! Instead they would blame me for maligning them!
Ishita was almost on the verge of tears, and Sarika gave her a tight hug.
Sarika - Ishita, don't you worry! We believe you! But I am sure that this not the only thing that has been worrying you. Please tell us what is wrong!
***********
Parmeet had arrived with the drinks, while Raman was sitting and waiting for the women to return.
Raman - Parmeet, why did you take so much time?
Parmeet - The bar is pretty busy so I had to wait for the drinks to arrive. Where are the three of them?
Raman - They went to the washroom; should be back anytime
Suddenly, Parmeet's phone rang and the name that flashed was enough to cause worry.
Parmeet (to himself) - Ab isse kya ho gaya? I have to take this call (to Raman) - I have to take this urgent call. I will be back in a while
He left the table to answer the call, while Raman was in no mood to take any chances.
Raman - He must have done something to Ishita's drink! I must check it!
He picked up the glass, bringing it near his mouth. The smell was enough to make him uneasy.
Raman (taking the glass away from his face) - Hmmph! This drink reeks of vodka! He had plans to harm Ishita! That son of a...Wait, I need to get rid of this before he comes back!
He couldn't see any potted plant, and after much contemplation, he ultimately decided to drink it. It was very strong and his throat was burning. After gulping it down, he requested for the glass to be taken away.
Raman - Uhhh...I hate vodka! And this was too strong! Okay, now I need to run to the bar to get another drink!
He headed to the bar to get another orange juice, while Parmeet was busy talking on the phone.
Shagun - Hey baby, where are you? So much noise in the background!
Parmeet - Arre I am in Tryst with Raman. Thoda chill kar rahe hain bas!
Shagun - Raman ke saath? Tum kabse mujhe chhodkar uske saath enjoy karne lage?
Parmeet - We are just chilling yaar, and would be leaving soon
Shagun - Achcha, come to my place as soon as you leave
Parmeet - Par kyun?
Shagun - Tumhe toh sirf Raman ke saath enjoy karna aata hain! (naughtily) Don't you want to come and enjoy with me?
He really wanted to be with Ishita but he couldn't refuse Shagun. She calling him over at this time meant only one thing. But he had already made up his mind, and decided to get out tactfully.
Parmeet - Shagun, you know I will call you later. There is too much noise and the reception is very poor
She hung up the phone and Parmeet heaved a sigh of relief. He was happy that he put her off without refusing her. He remembered having a bad experience with her tantrums; he had made a mistake of unknowingly refusing to take her out for lunch once and she had stopped taking his calls. He ultimately had to give in to her demands. He was only with her because she was his ladder to success and money in Raman's company.
Parmeet - Thank God! Major disaster averted! Sorry, Shagun I have no interest in you tonight. Because I only want Ishita!
Raman had returned to their table with the drink. He sighed in relief and waited for everyone to arrive.
In the washroom, Ishita was still contemplating whether to tell Sarika and Simran about what cheap things Parmeet had told and done earlier. Ultimately, she couldn't take it and began crying.
Simran - Arre Ishita, Kya hua? If you tell us only then we will be able to help you na. Please stop crying and tell us.
Ishita - Okay, I will tell you. You know, Parmeet sir is a total leechad! Sarika, on the day you told me to report to him because Mr President was late, he tried to touch my face. He hit on me numerous times after that day but I just ignored it thinking that he will go away on his own. But today he crossed all limits!
Both - What did he do?
She sighed and told them about the conversation they had when Raman and both of them were not on the table. She explicitly mentioned the kapde utarkar aana' statement. Both Sarika and Simran's eyes widened in shock and anger!
Simran - That bloody a*****e! How dare he do that to you! I will teach him a lesson today and...
Sarika - Simran, calm down! Even I am angry but hitting him and abusing him will only create a scene and will serve no purpose! We will have to deal with this smartly
Simran - But we can't just sit around doing nothing right! We have to do something!
Sarika - Yeah I know, but we can't be aggressive here! We have to think calmly and rationally. Now however, we will just go and sit like nothing ever happened
Simran - But Sarika...
Ishita - I think she is right, Simran. Hitting and abusing will serve no purpose! We will have to teach that leechad a lesson but we have to play it smart. Isiliye its better if we go and sit outside, before he and Mr President sense that something is wrong
Simran - But Ishita, are you alright? How can you even see his face after what he did?
Ishita - Yeah I am fine! And thanks to you guys I am feeling much better! I am glad that I could tell you guys everything! Keeping all this bottled up was really affecting me emotionally! So all this helped me feel much much better!
Simran - Aww...Ishita
The three women shared a really long group hug. Ishita was grateful for having such gem of friends and prayed for their well-being and happiness.
Sarika - Okay, we need to get back to the table very normally. Ishita, I promise you that we will think something about this once we have the ease to do so.
Simran - Abhi jaldi chalo! Sir and leechad are waiting for us. They must be wondering what is taking us so long!
Raman was wondering what was taking them so long. Parmeet had finished his phone call and had returned to the table. He had no idea that his well-thought plan had already failed, thanks to Raman
Raman (to himself) - What is taking them so long! Women, I tell you! They must be clicking pictures in the washroom, I bet!
Raman had begun experiencing the effects of the drink. His head was getting heavy and he was feeling uneasy. Parmeet had very smartly added the strongest vodka in the bar to the drink. He wanted Ishita to have the drink and completely lose control over herself. He had taken only two pegs of whisky as he had to drive himself home and was feeling fine. But just one drink of vodka and he felt like he had taken at least ten pegs of whisky. He hated vodka sorely for this reason; it had been the cause of major hangovers for him in the past. Any other form of alcohol was okay, but for some odd reason vodka had always been his enemy. But he had taken his most hated drink in the world only for Ishita's safety. He couldn't see Parmeet take advantage of her, was the reason he was giving himself. However, the actual reason was that he couldn't stand the thought of the lech touching her. Every second, the thought of him making Ishita his prey, was driving him mad!
Raman (in an uneasy manner) - Where were you people? Kitna time laga diya!
Sarika - Sorry, sir. We were clicking pictures, that's why we took so much time. But sir, are you fine? You look a little uneasy
Raman - I am okay, Sarika. I am just a little hungry, that's all
Parmeet - I think we should order food now. Oh girls, your drinks had arrived long back. You can have them!
They nodded and sat down, while Parmeet just couldn't stop smirking! What he had wanted since a long time, was finally going to be his tonight! He couldn't wait till Ishita finished the drink and would be under his control! Sarika and Simran caught him staring at their friend. They kept drinking till the food arrived and Parmeet waited patiently for the effects of the drink to manifest. Her drink was halfway finished and yet she was looking fine. Finally, as everyone finished eating dinner, Ishita's drink also got over and she was looking and behaving normally. Parmeet was flabbergasted and could not believe that a person who has never had alcohol before could still feel and act normal after taking it for the first time. His face showed an expression of shock and tension while Raman saw him and hi-fied himself. Even though he had a throbbing headache, he couldn't stop smiling looking at the signs of defeat on his face.
Raman (to himself) - I defeated you, Parmeet! Now there is no way in heaven that you can make Ishita yours! She is mine and I won't let anyone take her away from me!
Parmeet's phone rang, again. It was an expected caller.
Parmeet (to herself) - Ek toh waise bhi my plan failed! Aur upar se isse bhi abhi hi phone karna tha!
Parmeet excused himself and got up from the table to answer the call.
Parmeet - Haan Shagun, tell me what happened?
Shagun - You tell me what happened, Parmeet. You were supposed to call me back but looks like you totally forgot!
Parmeet - Haan sorry galti ho gayi
Shagun - Sorry se kaam nahi chalega. You will have to make amends
Parmeet - What will I have to do?
Shagun (naughtily) - Come over to my place and lets...you know what!
He was still upset about the failure, but was still desperate for some action. At that point of time, he didn't mind whether it was with Ishita or Shagun.
Parmeet - Give me half hour, I'll be there
He then cut the call and returned to the table, while everyone was getting ready to pay up.
Parmeet - Raman, I need to get home urgently. Mom is not feeling well so I need to check up on her
He left the premises after leaving his share of money on the table.
Raman (to himself) - Darpok! Ghar bhag gaya! Way to go Raman Bhalla!
Everyone paid their share and were getting ready to leave. Raman had a throbbing headache. Clutching his head, He walked slowly while wondering whether he could drive home in his state.
Ishita - Mr President, are you alright? You don't look really well
Raman - Ishita, I am fine don't worry. Just a little headache that's all
Ishita - If it was little, you wouldn't be holding your head and walking
Raman - Ishita, I am okay. See
Ishita - Do you have your chauffeur, Mr President?
Raman - No Ishita, don't worry I will reach home safely
Ishita - Mr President, at this rate you will reach jail than reach home. Don't you know that there are cops everywhere with breathalyzers?
Raman - I know, Ishita. But I am not drunk
Ishita - But your breath says otherwise
Raman's breath had a faint smell of alcohol. He was hardly in a state to drive home.
Ishita - Sarika and Simran, you guys leave. I will drop Mr President and only then go home
Sarika - But how will you go home?
Ishita - Don't worry. I will call Papa. He can pick me up
Simran - Okay, Ishita. But please call once you reach home
Ishita - Oh yeah, I'll just take my stuff from your car
The four of them exited the club and waited for the valet to bring the cars. Simran's car arrived first.
Sarika and Simran - See you on Monday! Bye!
She quickly called up her father and explained the situation to him, telling him to come near Raman's house. She removed her heels and wore the shoes she had worn for office. His car arrived and she helped him sit in the front seat while she sat in the driver's seat.
Raman was only a little tipsy but still he was not able to comprehend things easily due to the headache.
Raman - Ishita, why are you driving my car? Get up and let me drive!
Ishita - Mr President, please sit and let me drive. I promise that I will get you home safely!
Raman - You know, you looked really beautiful today. This colour really suits you! Please wear it more often!
Ishita (blushing) - Thank you for the compliment, Mr President
Raman switched on the radio and started listening to soft songs. He was enjoying himself when suddenly a shot of immense pain ran through his head. He clutched it with his hand and groaned.
Raman - Uhhh! I hate this stupid vodka! It always gives me a headache!
Ishita -Then why did you drink it today, Mr President?
Raman started laughing, leaving her confused.
Raman - I didn't want to drink it. But I had to because of you, Ishita!
Ishita (shocked) - But why did you drink it because of me?
Raman - I had to because Parmeet had mixed it with your drink!
Ishita (shocked) - What are you saying, Mr President?
Raman - Yeah, I am saying that Parmeet mixed vodka in your orange juice! When you went to the washroom with Sarika and Simran, he had gone to order the drinks, na? He must have mixed it then. As soon as he left the table to answer a phone call, I smelled your drink and it reeked of vodka! I had to get rid of it before he returned. Having no choice, I drank it and immediately rushed to get another drink for you. So yeah, you are the sole reason for this headache, Ishita!
On hearing this entire story, Ishita started crying. She had never imagined that Parmeet would stoop so low. And she was feeling immense gratitude for Raman. He had played with his health and taken that drink for her. She just couldn't thank him enough. If it wasn't for him, Parmeet would have taken advantage of her. Raman saw the tears in her eyes.
Raman - Why are you crying? Do you also have a headache?
Ishita (wiping her tears) - No, Mr President. I know you won't remember any of this at all in the morning, but I still want to say a big thank you to you! If it weren't for you, I would have lost all my respect and dignity today! Thank you so much!
Ishita turned her face to look at him and saw that he had passed out. Finally, she reached his house.
Ishita - Oh no! How will he go inside now! Should I call aunty? No, I guess she must be asleep. Looks like I will only have to take him inside.
Ishita pulled him out of the car and supported him with on her shoulders. Raman had not completely passed out and kept mumbling something inaudible. She carried him inside his house and asked one of the servants the directions to his room.
Raman - You know you are too sweet, Ishita. People may take advantage of you
Ishita - Hmm...really?
Raman - Yeah, plus you have brains too. Your talents have impressed me a lot
Ishita - Thank you, Mr President
She finally reached his room. Supporting him with her shoulders, she slowly laid him on his king-sized bed. Raman immediately went to sleep. She put the blanket over him and for a moment her face was close to his. He looked like an innocent child. She stared at his fair skin and manly face. His features were sharp and chiselled. His forehead was nice and well-defined. He had a pair of very nice-looking lips. Ishita admired his face for a while till she realized what she was doing. She quickly pulled her face away and blushed at her folly. She looked at him sleeping so peacefully and felt bad. She wanted to help him the way he had helped her out today. He had been very kind and had played with his health just to protect her. Her phone suddenly rang and it was her father's phone. He told her he was waiting outside and that she could come out. Ishita hung up and turned around to leave.
Ishita - Mr President, I promise myself that I will bring Shagun and leechad's truth in front of your eyes! I won't let you suffer silently! You have the right to know what is happening behind your back and I will make sure that you know about it!
Ishita exited Raman's house, taking her stuff from his car. Her father was waiting for her on the opposite side. She told her father about everything they did there, taking care not to mention about Parmeet's antics. Ishita was really exhausted after such a long day, and they finally reached home. She quickly changed into her night dress and called up Sarika and Simran to inform them about her arrival home. She lay down on her bed and slept, thinking of whatever Raman had said in the drunken stupor.
Parmeet was lying down on the bed with a blanket to cover his modesty. Shagun lay beside him and was fast asleep. He looked at the ceiling, thinking about his failed plan.
Parmeet - My plan may have failed today. But you won't be so lucky the next time Ishita! For Parmeet Khurana gets what he wants! And I will make sure that you will be mine only!
Precap - Ishita, Sarika and Simran make a plan.
