Was reading an article where people were hoping for Voting to be reduced to 17 years, I was like 17 years first question that came to mind was will anyone will take voting seriously till 20.

Anyways my question is are 18 yrs old mentaly matured to think right or wrong about life and make thier own decisions?

Have seen many examples of gal/guy 's takign drastic decision in life that are regretteable later in life and only justification they have is they were new / in experienced. Well come on when GOVT think u are capable of making ur own choices then why not? Seriously I feel till 21 years people haven't gone thru hardships of life and are immatured why to stake countries / family in hand of individuals. Strongly think 18 Years is too young to be called adult, do u agree??

PS - just a thought no offense, please share frank views here. Thanks!

I think the new era 17 is ok.....Cos the adolescence a time when one's decisions and experiences determine the type of adult one will become, and i believe adulthood is practical only, its just a law can change anytime...

Some say adulthood begins with financial independence, with the end of formal schooling,or after getting married 😉 some say at old age....I think if some feel giving way to a security of your own or when you lose the feeling of protection ....a person will be a adult. 😊

skool going student know political/economical situation about our country, are you kiddin me. Chalo even if they know, that must influenced by people around or hearing news by accident, I feel individuals mostly ready to make right decision by 22 ummm actually 25, but 17,18 surely is not a age to allow voting.

Other then voting do you think 18th year old is matured enough to live life on his/her own? Decisions made at 18ish without parental concerns often are subjected to be diasastor.

Raj am talking about Voting issue......Now a days 90% of 16/17 age groups are updated/upgraded their GK, cos of media n new papers other souces..... for voting issue i think they can take their own decision but for other life's decision making things they need to mature more,I read somewere that brain isn't fully developed until age 20 and If you mean "adult" is "mature" in some important ways, then some people never become adults..😊

90% 😊 well I must have met the wrong group then, I feel percentage is other way round. Does having GK alone qualifies for someone to make the right decision? if yes then what level of knowledge?

lols some people are never adults, I agree there are percentages everywhere, I am not saying all.

I don't think 17 or 18 is a young age. Lot of kids mature faster these days. Majority of 17 year olds are alredy in college making the most important decisions of their life. So, why shouldn't they vote? I think it is only right to let them. If they can be sent off to war at such age then shouldn't they be allowed to make decisions that affect their life then?

School going children khow political/economical situations about our country.. 😃do u think just knowing issues would do it all....then i knew about this much at age 10...even... but guess my hand did'nt reach the ballot box 😆

for voting, and other decissions in life, one needs to do observations, assumptions, clarifications, comparisons..and much more to come to a decission. ...rather the right decission...

ofcourse we are mature at 17, 18 but not enough to take right decissions.. in life..😊
